  • I'd go with A, but only if it meant I had my dream body and fitness level. Goal weight really means nothing to me anymore...it's more about how my body looks, feels and performs.
  • That sounds like the funnest motivation to train to run a 5K that I've ever heard of!! I just recently ran my first 5K (last Saturday) after training for 3 months. I didn't do C25K, but I hear it's a fantastically successful program for those of us who are new to running. I started interval training on a treadmill when I…
  • The black stuff in the gut is NOT poo, it is air (gas). Look at the lungs, they are also black or air filled. This is typically how gas/air shows up on scans; ie CT, MRI ,etc. Fecal material usually isn't that noticable unless a person has a large amount in their colon and then it has a greyish, freckly (speckled?)…
  • Don't let your head mess up all the hard work your body has done! A 39 lb weight loss is a huge accomplishment and you should be proud of yourself. Pictures aren't always flattering, no matter what your size; and if you need a quick reality check, pull out some old pics of you prior to your current weight loss and hold…
  • That's AWESOME! Great times too...keep up the good work!
  • Sexyrexy12; I am 5'5" and THANK YOU...I feel pretty awesome!
  • Thank you! :)
  • Not sure why the photos won't show...tried making the IMG lower case, but then it would tell me the file had been moved? Sorry, my first attempt at trying to post a pic on the forums. ETA: Finally figured it out
  • I'm going to put this out there, because I want to be honest with you and myself as well as maybe give you a glimpse into the near future...forewarned is forearmed, IMO. I'm 42 and have struggled with binge eating, emotional eating, bulimia and various combinations of the 3 since I was 15. I have weighed anywhere from 122…
  • I second the Jay Robb suggestion...it is also "filler free" which alot of them are not. I like the vanilla flavor so I can add whatever I like to it...banana, strawberries, blackberries, PB2 and cocoa powder, etc. It makes a good base and I know I'm not getting a bunch of artificial garbage.
  • Bill Murray's "Quick Change" (although I have to admit, I have not seen it) My take is this; if you want to be successful in this journey, surround yourself with like minded, positive people. Everyone is going to stumble or have an off day once in awhile, but if that is there general disposition or position towards this…
  • Regular bacon (keeping all the happy in LOL), not too chewy and not too crisp. I like the Costco brand (Kirkland) low sodium bacon.
  • WOW! What a colossal waste of money...what do they plan to do with the results? Make MORE chicken nugget days because that is the most popular food? I think you make an excellent point about the money being better spent overhauling the school lunch program...but it's amazing what the gov't will fund and what they won't :(…
  • I only lost a pound in April, but I lost 2% body fat! WOOHOO!!!
  • It's hard to compare when they aren't side by side, but after reviewing them again, I can DEFINITELY see a huge difference in your face and your belly! WTG!! Keep up the good work!
  • Historically, I have done the same thing...I lose about 10 lbs, start feeling great and get lazy/sloppy with my food tracking and exercise so I'll be interested in hearing the responses. Just know that you aren't alone.
  • That's fantastic! I am also in a smiliar situation; could walk for miles and miles, but always hated running and only ran in high school when I had to (and I'm 42)...preferred sprints because they were over sooner! LMAO Then about a month ago, I decided I wanted to start working out with a personal trainer...never…
  • Damn those evil bananas...been making thousands of gorillas and chimpanzees obese for ages! Give me a break!
  • A banana always does it for me...plus, since I mix mine with water, it adds "thickness" making the texture more creamy and milkshake-like. Frozen strawberries are a good choice too.
  • My NSV for today is that I tried a new healthy food and I LIKED it! Had Quinoa tonight for the first time and can see adding it as a staple to my diet! I'm a fairly picky eater, so I'm thrilled that I like this. :)
  • I would LOVE to have this skill!
  • I have a wicked sense of humor!
  • YES! ^^^THIS^^^ I knew I was getting fat when I even outgrew my undies! LOL
  • GREAT article! And the "Humpty Hump" comment and "sugar silly" made me laugh! I needed that today!
  • For someone who has been within a "normal" weight range most of my life, I have had several "OMG, I'M FAT" realizations. One was a picture after my freshman year of college (freshman 15), but the most recent one was several years ago. My son was diagnosed with autism and we moved to a larger city to procure appropriate…
  • Welcome! You will LOVE it here...MFP is a fantastic tool to help you on your weight loss journey and the "friends" you make will help you keep on track! Feel free to add me if you like :)
  • Honestly? I use whichever one is lower; I have read that most machines are not calibrated accurately and may give you a caloric swing of 20% more calories burned than is the actual case. So I just decided to use whichever count is lower. You could always split the difference too or use whatever you feel is most accurate.…
  • I don't like doughnuts...at all. Don't know why, just have never liked them. And the ones that REALLY gross me out are the prepackaged garbage at Walmart called "Honeybuns" ARF...I had a co worker who would give those to her kids for breakfast...blech; stale, hard, dry nASSty. Not a big fan of chips either and I HATE…
  • Patience is definitely not my strong suit; I'm all about immediate gratification...which makes any long term lifestyle changes challenging.
