Beet greens?
Does anyone have any tried and true, delicious recipes for beet greens? I tried sauteing (sp?) in some macademia oil with garlic and wasn't impressed.

Nutrition "experts" HELP please
I am a 45 yo female who is currently training for my first 1/2 in July. I weight 138 (5'6") and have been stable at this weight for over 2 years. I would like to drop to 130 (for the race) and started seriously tracking my food intake almost 2 months ago w/o any loss. I lift 2x week (circuit 30mins), run 4x week (3 4…

If you are juicing...
How do you figure your nutritional stats? IE I juiced 1 carrot, 1 med apple, 1 pear, and 1 kiwi tonight. For simplicity's sake, I guess I could count all the fruits, but I know does not properly reflect my intake. Any thoughts? And I apologize in advance if this subject has been beaten to death before...I just started back…

"Make my Day" NSV
I have been at a weight loss plateau for a month...thanks in part to my own inability to control my sugar intake. Eating w/in my calorie range, but not eating the right foods; but I am doing AWESOME on the exercise portion (why is it so dang hard to do both at the same time?!?!?!) Anywhoo; I was at the gym this morning and…

NSV with pics: My first 5K
I just completed my first 5K yesterday and met my goal of running it in under 31:00. Official time was 30:52 and I was #30 of 77 in my age catagory (40-44, I'm 42). I have NEVER been a runner, so I am pretty damn proud of myself. I started strength training & walk/jogging in mid-March and had to run for 1 min/walk for 1min…

BOTH my parents have eating issues of their own, so it's no wonder that both my younger sister and I had bulimia in high school. My dad was a complete control freak,…

PB2 question
I have never tried this before (never heard of it even until browsing some of these forums), but am curious to try it. Unfortunately, it is not available anywhere near where I live. I am contemplating ordering it online, but hate to order 4 jars of it in case I don't like it and am too cheap (LOL) to pay a ridiculous…

Cholesterol question
I just had my blood drawn and received the results today. While I am BEYOND thrilled that my total cholesterol my under 200 (192) for the first time in 10+ years, I was a little shocked as well as my LDL level was elevated @ 132. My triglycerides were also normal at 70 and my HDL was low/normal @ 46. So, my question is HOW…

NSV
Although I have only been @ MFP for 1 week, I have been attempting to eat healthier for 1 month and become more responsible for my own health. A week ago last Weds, I had my blood drawn to check, among other things, my cholesterol level...which has consistently been over 200 for the last 10+ years. Last time I had it…
