I have been at a weight loss plateau for a month...thanks in part to my own inability to control my sugar intake. Eating w/in my calorie range, but not eating the right foods; but I am doing AWESOME on the exercise portion (why is it so dang hard to do both at the same time?!?!?!)
Anywhoo; I was at the gym this morning and we were doing strength testing; I was able to max out at 45lb dumbells (90lbs total) for lunges and 35lbs (70lb total) for chest press! When I started strength training 3 mos ago, I had no idea what my max for lunges was and I could only do 40lbs max chest press!
In addition; we had to do a set of 20 pushups in between sets. We were paired with a partner and I had a new partner (I work out with a personal trainer in a group). We started doing "BOY" pushups, and she quit at 5 and said, "Dang, you are STRONG...I'm just gonna sit here and watch you" which I took as a compliment, but was a little weirded out that she watched me do pushups, instead of doing her own. LOL This is someone that I see running and running all the time on the treadmill. After I finished, she was like..."WOW; you should see the muscles in your arms and legs when you're doing your pushups; it's amazing"
WOOHOO!!! I have VISIBLE muscles!!
