  • Kickboxing tonight!!! Looove Tuesdays for this reason. Just wrapped up a sloooow 30 minute walk with the pup, and will be heading to the gym in about 45 minutes to hit some mitts and kick some shields!!
  • Not everyday can be perfect, we are human after all!! Tomorrow is a new day that brings along a new start!!
  • Glad you are feeling better!!
  • WOW great work!!
  • I was reading another discussion thread last night and a poster was asking about the effect of beginning to lift weights and / or increasing weight and going harder. Sounds like the muscles actually absorb and hold onto water during the recovery process until they get more comfortable with the work. This can actually…
  • Yup sodium is a way bigger downfall for me then anything else. EVERYTHING seems to have way too much sodium. I sometimes wonder if MFP's sodium allowances are correct and fair. I recently went on high blood pressure meds, which supposedly sodium seems to have an effect on. I'm hoping once I get back down to my fightin…
  • Yesterday (9/6) was a good day, took two walks (45 minutes each) with my new best friend "Amber". I logged more than 17,000 steps for the day. Also managed to get the garage cleaned, it needed it!! Back doing much better, only have issues when sitting for long periods of time. Considering my goal is to keep moving I guess…
  • Here is another idea...a bit more $$ then the food processor.... http://yonanas.com/
  • I wonder if it had something to do with how ripe the bananas you were using were. I like bananas but they have to be pretty ripe, cause if not ripe they take on a completely different flavor. I like bananas so I gotta try this.
  • Great job!!

  • For the most part yesterday was a good day. Considering at 8:00 PM on Wednesday I was in dire straights with my back situation. Was up and around and managed to get the lawn cut so I got some credit for "some" exercise. Getting better and more determined than ever to "Get UR done". Plan for today is to get the pup out for…

  • Damn Bill you are a machine!! Great work!!
  • This is exactly what I was thinking. Maybe its not the lack of carbs but instead what you are eating to replace those calories from carbs. Greasy and fatty foods are more likely to cause "heartburn" or reflux or GURD, and laying down will make things worse. Six weeks ago I spent two days in the hospital (one in the ER…
  • Excellent idea. I read about this method online, but have never tried it. Some people suggest making extra, then store and reheat in the microwave. Have you ever tried that? Yes its convenient but somehow the microwave reheat just does not seem desirable.
  • But MFP does not differentiate between sugar from fruit or sugar from a snickers bar. Hence, it seems really easy to exceed our sugar allotment for the day. Guess this is the reason why I don't pay much attention to it.
  • I have come to the conclusion that if you want to make your MFP sugar numbers you pretty much have to give up fruit. I'm just not willing to do that, so I typically go over on sugar. I also typically go over on sodium big time, but I'm a little more sensitive about sodium so I'm always looking to improve that number. For…
  • Welcome, great to have you!!

  • 8/21 Was good...Walked dog, elliptical and some weight training. Stayed under my calories with no problem. Today somewhat of a rest day. I just completed a 3 miles dog walk, and wife wants to go furniture shopping    Hopefully catch a movie sometime today. Challenge will be to stay away from the theatre…

  • Thank you all for all your input and knowledge sharing. It is very helpful, I'm glad I asked the question!! I agree, the calories for weight training seems to be spot on, I know weight training is not meant for calorie burn. I will plan to consume those additional calories with something that contains higher protein…
  • I do not. I thought it was because I have a Windows phone and the apps pretty much suck. Are you using a Windows phone?
  • No worries!! I always overdo it on pizza too, but hey once in awhile your body needs it. I don't think its that big of a deal but if you are convinced it is then just use it for motivation to move forward with getting back at it tomorrow!!
  • Hey VK great to see your post. I am brand new to MFP, so I could use some additional friends as well. MFP is a great tool and there seems to be all kinds that participate. Young, old, in shape, some no to in shape etc. Really a great community!!
  • Great job!!
  • I agree. I also think this is much like "breaking a wild horse". Stay vigilant, lead by example and most of all be strong. Stick to YOUR guns (not his) and follow YOUR plan. My guess, when he starts to see your weight loss, he will soon follow your lead. This could very well take time but I'm guessing (being a male myself)…
