  • Hi everyone! I've been meaning to post here for a few months now but things keep getting in the way, oh and I'm a huge procrastinator. Been away from MFP since early summer so here's the last several months in a nutshell. Began getting sore feet in May/June which I finally got looked at in September. Long story short with…
  • I'm back for an update, been away and busy as my summers usually are. So I think I mentioned that I was going to find PT closer to my home since I hit rush hour on the way home and it takes extra time and stresses me out. Well, as usual, I can't say NO. I went to pick up my new orthotics and got talked into coming back for…
  • A quick check in... went kayaking all day... got to the meet point early so while I waited for my friends to show up I took a 40 min walk along the river trail. Tomorrow is last day of 15k, and I'm reaching it easily each day with a walk after work. I have used a wrist brace on my left (worse) hand off and on for years.…
  • I didn't plan on a run today, but that's what I did on the 2nd half of my walk. My lungs protested at first, then I got into a good rhythm and my legs started to tire. I'm sure its all in my head... I was having that inner battle between stop and go. In the end I ran more than I had planned, so that's good. One thing is…
  • Just an update to say that I am starting week 3 of my step challenge. I've made goal every day so far. (Week one--13k per day, Week 2-- 14k per day) Today was very busy at work so I got over 10k alone there, then came home and cut my grass which gave me the rest. I'm up to 15k per day now, I currently have taken 16,474…
  • @cblue... I just LOVED your post. I did a 5k mud run last year with my sister and it was a blast. You look absolutely wonderful with that great big smile on your face. Considering all the stuff you've been up against lately you deserve that so much. I like how you said you can choose to focus your energy on you, rather on…
  • Hi everyone, just popping to say hi. Been busy with work and doing a lot of activities after work and on weekends. I am thinking of looking for a new PT center closer to home. The one I go to is close to work, but I'm an hour from work and that stretches to 1.5 hrs after a physio session because it's rush hour by then. I…
  • @Laurie... I am usually quite active in the warmer months... walking, kayaking, hiking, playing slow pitch. The restriction works on the basis that for any strength exercise that I perform, if a certain muscle is weak then another muscle will overcompensate in order to complete the movement. The idea is to eliminate that…
  • As I said in my last post, I've lost my motivation to go to physio. I had an appointment at 2pm today to see the physiotherapist for a reassessment. I got there at 1:30 and did a 10 min warm up run and then my core routine. I felt great after that and it reminded me that once I get there and get going I feel the benefits…
  • Hi everyone... I've been busy with other things, but I did start logging again about a week ago. I can start to feel my clothes get a bit tight, so I made myself step on the scale the other morning (I've been avoiding the scale because I've been eating crappy and I know I gained weight... and didn't want to know how much).…
  • Hi, I'm back. Sorry, I've missed a lot of posts. I am off track yet again but starting back at physio on Wednesday. I've had some time off from it to just rest. My back, neck, shoulders and feet feel pretty good because of that. Now my knees are starting to bother me again. Right knee pain at the back, like a tight pain,…
  • @Laurie ... I hope your dad continues to improve, taking a break and some time for yourself to relax and regroup emotionally and physically will do you some good. @cblue ... I am in awe of how you are keeping everything together with all the things you have gone through in the last while... and are still continuing to keep…
  • I used to use my BC as an excuse as to why I could not lose weight. But when I put my mind to it I lost 50 lb quite easily... calories in, calories out. Make better food choices that keep you feeling fuller.
  • Time makes no difference as long as you eat within your calorie allowance. I eat 1000 of my calories between 4 and 8pm and have no trouble losing weight.
  • i'm glad someone mentioned the ticker... I find it very motivating. As you can see I'm still struggling to hit Onderland, but I hope this will give me a little kick in the butt.
  • Today I finally went grocery shopping for more than bread and honey. It was a beautiful rainbow of colours so I know I did well. I've been so lazy lately and have been grabbing bagels, donuts, burgers and fries, pizza, subs. It's ridiculous how I have just jumped back into my old ways. I made myself step on the scale…
  • @Laurie congrats on finding a size 12 that fits! I just realized that I need to buy new bras... after 50 lb loss, there was quite a loss there too! I've been tightening the straps but I really do need to buy a proper size. :/ Not bad day today... I brought my car in to get the summer tires put back on. They checked for bad…
  • @melifornia I'm right there with you!! But probably worse :D So I decided to go buy some 'real food' which ended up being a loaf of bread and honey. I feel so out of control right now... with everything. My car is going to need new struts and because I've put that off, the 2 rear wheel bearings as well ($2500). The car has…
  • Hi, I'm here. 140 posts behind... new month, new start. Goals are 15,000 steps daily and to just simply eat under calories.
  • Well... I finally did my taxes last night. Same thing happened as last year, I got all my receipts together, added everything up then fired up the software. Now, where is my T4????? I remember getting in in the mail and thinking OK put it somewhere safe so you know where to find it. Nope. Searched around frantically in so…
  • Thursday Truth... haven't logged the past 2 days because I've been eating too much. Today I bought a pizza for dinner, ate 3 pieces and feel sick. Still don't know why I do this to myself. I'm also stressing about doing my taxes, which are due the last day of this month. I always put them off to the last minute, this year…
  • Peanut butter and chocolate, or milk chocolate covered almonds. Or a healthier chocolate protein powder and peanut butter mixed in plain greek yogurt.
  • Just a quick update of my goals. I'm always a bit over calories but that does not seem to matter... my weight is still dropping (204.2 today!!). Protein is still easy to achieve since I'm cutting some carbs. I don't see that trend lasting long, I love carbs too much. Thinking Onederland is finally going to arrive this…

  • It gets easier. I don't even feel full with more protein. I had some major hunger pangs in the beginning and just ate a few extra calories so I wouldn't just explode and binge. Your body is used to eating more food, so it's expecting more. You have to train it to expect less, and that's where TIME comes in. Eat a smaller…
  • @cblue... I am sorry for your loss. @M0W... your post made me laugh.. I've done exactly the same thing. Cram lots of crap food in and feel awful the next day. I never get coupons for my birthday, I guess it's not a Canadian thing. Although there is a restaurant near me (buffet!) that offers free meals on your birthday. I…
  • @cassybaca.. not sure what GB is, but I've always been a big carb eater and am always low on protein (don't eat much meat). I'm increasing my protein to try to get at least 25% from my daily intake from protein, which at my weight is usually over 120g. I find that eating more protein and less carbs cuts my cravings and I…
  • A quick check in to update my goals. I was doing well yesterday but snacked in the evening after I had completed my food diary.. bad, bad. Today I made up for it by being active all day and staying under calories. April 1st I was 212 lb, this morning I was 207.2... on my way down again and hopefully into Onederland by the…
