try mybodygallery.com you pick a height, weight, pant size, etc, and body type and it gives you actual pics of real women who are the size/shape you entered. you can change. i love the website, so here's a link with 5'7" and 140lbs checked. Add your body type or goal pant/shirt size if you want more specific pictures.…

im just getting back on track...lost 20lbs (of my goal of 40) then basically didnt exercise for 2 months and only ate good part of the time. i only gained back 2 lbs, but i need to get back at this and finish those last 22 lbs!!! we can do this! good luck :)

sounds awesome (and like it will stop a Chipotle craving!) thanks!

I always add lots of broccoli and carrots to mac and cheese and divide it into servings when I'm done cooking. That way, I get all the cheese/salt I crave, but I also feel fuller because of all the veggies. Works pretty well for me, but it still is hard not to eat a lot of it!

I'm fine with my 36As...not my choice, but like the person who started this thread, they look great when i want them to :) Here's a nice little story about my terrible roommate: While i was in my room folding laundry one night, my roommate came in, picked up one of my bras, and said "oh yeah, you don't have big boobs like…

i buy heads of lettuce, lots of frozen veggies, frozen fish, chicken, canned tuna, and any fresh produce that's on sale. i have a store for locally grown produce nearby so everything is really fresh and cheap. I go a few times a week so i don't buy too much in advance...this keeps me from wasting food. whole grain pasta…

amazing!! congrats on a great journey so far...i'm jealous, i've lost 20lbs and it hasn't made anywhere near the difference 12 has for you. but i am 5'9"...those inches in height make a huge difference! Congrats again, keep it up :)

google serving sizes for specific foods...you should be able to easily find sizes for meats/other foods (for example, 3 oz of fish is the size of a deck of cards). these give a standard visual for size of foods that are a close estimate. cheaper than a food scale and works well if you estimate honestly. Good luck!!

I agree. 26lbs in 2 months is great!! pretty quick, but not so fast as to be unhealthy or dangerous. keep it up, and congrats!

pre packaged foods (that are breaded) are already fried. if you bake them (basically just reheating them), the calories on the package are correct. If you deep fry them, they have been fried twice when you eat them and the calories increase by whatever calories your frying oil has in it. This stuff isn't good for us (I eat…

I had everyone who was attending help pay, and the girl who did not attend offered to pay her share, so actually everyone ended up paying. If some people are not going, I would tell them they are not obligated to help, but anything they can help with would be appreciated. Even if they pay less, it will help with overall…

family video stores let you "rent" fitness dvds for free. If this is an option for you, just start checking out a few of them a week until you find one you like, then buy them on amazon or ebay :)

Good Luck! Exercise and weight loss will help your body be more sensitive to insulin (rather than being insulin resistant, which causes type 2 diabetes). Once you reach your goal, which will be no problem with all the support here on MFP :) , you are pretty likely to no longer be diabetic!! Good luck, lots of people on…

Unless it's causing pain in your joints that lasts a few days (even if you dont run those few days), jogging is not hurting you. Your body will tell you (with pain, stiffness, swelling) if you are hurting your joints. I have problems occasionally, so I know my joints were not built for jogging. I just take a week of and do…

very noticeable change, congrats!! let those pics help motivate, i wish i wouldve taken some at the beginning...they wouldnt have been pretty, but they wouldve motivated me and made me happy to compare now to then!

When i do serious cleaning (i clean for a family i know for 3 hours every other week, and sweat the whole time, it's tough work) I log half of the time as moderate intensity housework. it's not something i do all the time, but it also doesnt count as a normal workout, so i give myself half. works for me :)

i no longer have to (or want to) wear sweatpants every day...my jeans were all just tight enough not to be too comfy or attractive, and i refused to buy bigger. 10 lbs fixed that, and now i cant wait until they all are too big :)

I would say weigh yourself, but do not allow that number to hurt you...just think about how big the number you lost will be when you reach your goal. Just by starting this journey, you are a stronger person. and for me, watching that number just keep falling makes me SO happy. If you choose not to weigh, just choose a few…

Waist should be measured at the "natural waist" (should be at your belly button, this is the site when you will be the smallest when you reach your final goal). Hips should be measured around your body below your hips bones at the level where your bottom (or pick your preferred word for behind.lol) is the largest...where…

Eating enough to function and be healthy is important. i have never had this problem, but can see how once i reach my goal i may be tempted to just keep losing. I try to focus on eating as much healthy food as i can so that i have the energy to exercise, walk the dog, and in general just feel healthy and full of life. Not…

that is ridiculous. exactly reaching your goal is PERFECTION, not a shortcoming. congrats, and keep it up. you look great. everyone is always congratulated for being under their goal, which really isn't all that good since it puts us at risk for starvation mode. i am planning on increasing my calorie goal so i can stay…

I agree. My boyfriend said we couldn't buy TGI Friday's bacon cheddar potato skins (the chips). I said we could, and that we need to be able to eat snacks occasionally or we will end up binging big time. We bought them and ate them all (a small bag with 5 servings). Not our best choice, but it left us both happy, and we…

i stop drinking caffience slowly a few times a year (once i notice i'm drinking 3-4 diet pops a day). i start to quit by waiting longer in the morning before i have my first one, and cut out 1 per day for a week or two (until i no longer have headaches. then i cut out another one and maintain that number for a few weeks.…

i agree. you may be able to eat (somewhat) unlimited veggies, but no way this would work for fruit. MFP is so much better/easier :) CONGRATS!! i love this site too, glad you do!

non scale victory - something that made you feel awesome/like you're making progress other than a great weigh in :)

Asics are the most comfortable shoes i have ever worn for everyday, working out, running, standing on my feet for 8 hours. Nike shox look awesome ( I have some) but kill my knees and heels when I stand in them or exercise in them. They are not stable enough to run in (very high risk of ankle sprain due to the narrow base…

similar (kinda) situation happened to me, but not in such a disappointing way. My roommate (5'10" female weighing 310lbs) told me that with my "a** and thighs" i would "never be able to get to that weight" when I told her my goal is 150 (i'm 5'9" and 171). needless to say, i was livid. Now i hear her saying that in my head…
