Good job!

And what is the difference between counting calories and counting bites?
-
1000 calories is not enough for a person of your height. And while you might be "fine", you will have lowered your metablism so that when you start eating to maintain you will put your weight back on.
-
Basically, it is just creating a smaller deficit so as not to slow down your metabolism. Your calories should be geared to your body, not just the random 1200 calories that MFP assigns to everyone when they select to lose 2 lbs per week. I eat 1850-2000 cals every day and I am losing on average a half to .7 lbs per week.

That's awesome! And just think, gaining 11 lbs means you get to eat even more! lol

Yes, this. HRMs are not meant to be worn all day and will not give an accurate read so you could need more or less than what it is saying. Bodymedia or a fitbit device are okay to wear all day to give you a more accurate picture. What are your stats and what is your total exercise for the week/what type do you do and what…

It definitely takes time and patience but know you are doing the best thing for your body. It has taken me over 6 months to lose 15 pounds but I lost 15 lbs of fat, no muscle loss. People who are losing quickly are also losing significant amounts of muscle with the fat. So while I have only lost 15 lbs I have also lost…

Have you read through the Progress threads? I have lost 15 lbs following EM2WL.
-
I'm not sure if it works the same way as fitbit but with the fitbit as you move and burn calories throughout the day your daily expected burn goes up on MFP.

oh and by eating more and lifting heavy weights I have increased my metabolism. Not by much, but it still increased and will continue to increase as long as I continue to fuel my body properly and lift weights.
-
I got a bio impedence analysis done at my naturopath's office that showed that my metabolism is working very slowly. I am still eating more, it just means that I lose much more slowly than other people. It has taken me over 6 months to lose 15 lbs but it is coming off.

Did you read all of the stickied threads and watch the videos?

Honestly there is never a better time to begin weights. Weights will get you into shape faster than cardio. Cardio depletes your muscles as well as fat and only burns calories while you are doing it for the most part. Whereas strength training has an after burn effect to keep you burning calories long after your workout is…

If you are losing a pound per week that is BANG ON for what you should be losing...actually, maybe even a little high. I am losing about .5-.7 lbs per week on average.
-
Down another .8.

Have you read all of the stickies threads and watched all of the videos?

I eat everything in moderation and try to meet my macro nutrient goals of 40% carbs 30% protein 30% fat. Regular rotation in my diet includes these foods: butter, olive oil, oatmeal, greek yogurt, almonds, hot chocolate, chicken, chicken, chicken, steak, whole wheat wraps, cucumber, peppers, eggs and egg whites, turkey…

First off, a half pound a week is perfect. This is not meant to be quick weight loss. A half pound a week means you are likely preserving the muscle that you have while losing fat. I started Em2WL at around 200 lbs (obese for me as I am only 5'2). I am now 186. It took me 6 months to lose 15 lbs. BUT I have had my muscle…

Well that is a great change! So if your body fat is going down you are doing something right in term of your composition. Sticking with a calorie range for 3-4 weeks is not really long enough to let your body know you are going to consistently fuel it. Think more in terms of months. I had a 3 month plateau where the scale…

I am 5'2 and my BMR is 1650.

I'm 5'2 and eat 1850-2000 calories to lose weight. And I don't do any excessive cardio. I lift heavy weights 3 times per week for about 35 minutes and I get 10 000 steps in every day. And according to my bio imdedence analysis I have a very slow metabolism which I believe is because of years of eating at 1200 cals or less.…

I am cutting 500 from my TDEE and my lifts don't seem to be suffering, but who knows, maybe I could be lifting more. My BP is only at 100 lbs for one rep, maybe 110 if I'm lucky. I struggle with 8 reps at 85 lbs which is the weight I am working with right now and I'm having a hard time doing that.
-
THIS Because I am eating more, almost all of my losses have been strictly fat loss and not muscle (according to my monthly bio impedence analysis tests). You might be feeling fine and able to do 1200 just fine...but what it is doing to your metabolism and loss of muscle mass the main issue.
-
Great motivation!
-
I disagree that it is not due to muscle gain. Not that you're going to put on 5 lbs of muscle in a month but women can put on 1-2 lbs of muscle in a 4 week period.
-
WOOHOO I have officially lost all of the pregnancy weight! Now on to the next!
-
Just a thought, have you had your thyroid checked?
-
By the way, I did end up having some issue with MFP and my fitbit...the past week is WAY over estimating my fitbit adjustment. By like 800 cals a day. It's working again now but tons of people were having this issue too.

Count me to the recovered group. I was bulimic since I was 9 years old. I have been recovered for 4 years.
