I want to join!!! Are you setting goals for October? I am 50, I live in Thailand, and I am a Zumba instructor. I would like to lose 20 lbs. Wendybirdgirl

Hey! I have similar goals, I am 5'2" and weigh 155 lbs. Would love to be 125 again. I am trying Intermittent Fasting, just to shake things up. I am a Zumba instructor (!) so I work out every day. Working out though, has just made me hungry, then I eat more. So logging everything I eat is crucial. Good luck! Add me if you…

For me, it is the portion size, not the brown-ness that is crucial. I can really only eat 1/2 cup of rice, or the calories just get too high to be worth it.

I just started IF on a 16:8 model. I like it, and am on Day 7. I lost 2 lbs, which is actually a lot for me, in 6 days. (Weight leaves me verrry slowly) So, I am happy. I am interested in knowing what foods make people feel full longer, so I can maximize the fasting time without feeling like I am starving for the last hour.

Hey! I just started too, coupla days ago. I have already lost a few pounds. I like that I only have to think about what I am going to eat, during a small window of the day. The rest of the time I just try to stay busy. I am doing 16:8, but still keeping track of calories here.

Count me in! My goal is to lose three pounds. Here is the truly freaky part of my personal challenge... I am going on a week long cruise to Alaska. Who tries to lose weight on a cruise? I DO!!!!! I have never been on one before, and am super excited. I am pretty freaked out about all that food. Help....

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac. And the marching band??? Lame.

I am 5'1, 47 yrs. old, and want to weigh 125. I have about 24 lbs. to lose. I work out 4 or 5 times a week, and I lose about one pound per week. It feels incredibly SLOW. Things I hate about being short: hemming pants, looking sort of spherical, adjusting the driver's seat WAY forward, decorating the top of a Christmas…

mayo. salad dressing. some types of cheese. potato chips.

I like to find "style icons", and then look for clothes that I think they might wear, but way, way cheaper ;). Then I stick with what I know works for my body type (hide my thighs, emphasize my waist). Currently i like clothes worn by Sharon Osborne or Rachel Zoe. And they are both shorties like me.

I am 5'1", and 47 yrs. old. My current weight is 151, and my goal weight is 125. I feel like I may ultimately want to be 115, which is what I weighed about 14 years ago. But, I need to have a goal that I feel I can reach realistically. Right now, 125 seems enough of a battle for me.

Good job on the boot camp! That is such hard work. You must be pretty strong!

Does it have a stimulant like caffeine?

The dinner went great. I took small portions... until dessert. Our host served it for me, a pretty big portion of peach cobbler. I didn't want to complain. Next time I will try to find a way to serve myself, or ask for a just a little bit. Lesson learned. Then the super bowl..... not good.... But, yes, today is Monday, and…

In Thailand the women tend to be quite thin and beautiful. I try not to compare, but sometimes it really bums me out.

This is going to sound weird, but I love the super crispy fried grasshoppers served with lime leaves and salt. I actually order them at a restaurant in Thailand, to the dismay of my American friends. But they taste like kettle chips, only better!

I am a size 8 or 10 in jeans, and want to be a size 4 or 6. Here's hoping!

Peru! Ceviche, Pappas ala Huancaina, Arroz con Pollo, Umitas!!!!! You are so lucky! Peruvian food is AMAZING. I was a student at the University of Lima, 25 years ago. I think Peru is such a wonderful country. Where will you go?

My husband and I have dieted together in the past. We will do the same diet, and he can actually lose 7 pounds in a week. I am lucky to lose 1 pound a week. Usually, I am like, a half pound or so per week. And his calorie allowance is huge!!!! Now we each do our own thing regarding diet and exercise. I am much happier this…

In Thailand I love the relaxed, tropical vibe. All the food is THAI FOOD, so that is amazing.... and cheap. And the variety of fresh fruit is incredible. I also enjoy hiking in the jungle, swimming in waterfalls, and seeing elephants stroll through my neighborhood.

When I am in Thailand, I miss guacamole, steamed artichokes, real sourdough bread, good cheeses. California comfort food.

I am in a small play at my church. It is a comedy about bad habits. Ironically, overeating isn't one of them! (Churchwide denial, IMHO). I play Miss Flirting. I am absolutely ridiculous in this role. My daughter made cookies and fudge for a bake sale after church today, and last night after rehearsal, I ate some. Then,…

I do Just Dance sometimes. I make my kids do it during the summer, if it is too hot to play outside! They get to earn computer time through Just Dance. But my personal favorite is Wii Zumba. LOVE. I previously did Wii Fit (running around a little island?) but got bored, however, it built up my stamina to the point where I…

Friend me if you need someone to commiserate with! I have a 15 year old son, and a 13 year old daughter. Verrrry tricky!

This happened with my son too. But for him, it was 8th grade. He is a pretty good kid, but got overwhelmed with the changing classes every hour and managing all those different assignments. He was getting a few Cs and a few Ds. He was previously an A student. I have the opposite recommendation to the other folks weighing…

Tomorrow morning I am going to do a four or five mile run. Then some friends come over in the afternoon. I better be careful what I eat with them... I need to plan ahead for sure. Feed the kids dinner (don't know what to make yet...I tend to just wing it on the weekends, maybe that is part of my problem?) Saturday night…

Hey! I just sent you a friend request.... I am confident that you can do this. Just start with small steps. Log your food, go for a walk, and stay on MFP. You have already made yourself vulnerable, by asking for help. I totally respect that! This is the time it is going to work for you. Truly.

Thanks for your speedy reply Claumgr! Good to know that you are a fellow Zumba fan. I love it! Esp. the music. Re: latin food, I totally get it. I grew up in California, and lived in Peru, and am crazy for avocados, refried beans, rice... Lately I have been eating one or two corn tortillas a day instead of bread, they are…
