  • Well not that I'm a expert or anything but -- shouldn't the first question you answer is :: what do you want to get out of it?? -- are you trying to lose weight -- train for a run -- become a tri-athelete? -- general fitness -- body building aka weight training -- strength / flexibility -- Biking / racing -- eye candy…
  • I used to get those all the time -- don't know if it'll work for you but here's what I did that stopped them. 1 - Got a new good pair of shoes from a running store -- where they let me run on a treadmill and showed me what type of shoe I needed etc.. 2 -- I started Foam rolling my legs after any run -- 3 -- I started…
  • You know what bothers me more than that ever will.. the fact that no one really told me in a nice way how big I was actually getting and now when I look back at my pictures I just think OMG becky -- Ooga Booga SOLO -- So I'll take someone telling me anything about how much weight I've lost (still have a lot to go) or how I…

  • Looks like there are a lot of opinions on this, I thought I'd throw mine in there.. .. while I don't judge anyone for being at the gym for whatever reason.. hey they're paying just like me so whatever --- but I do kinda find it funny :: Just some of my observances :: -- If you can hold a complete and non-out of breath…
  • Wifey definitly on here -- she's doing great too :) -- I think that this type of thing if you're married or have a SO you both have to do it.. I don't think either of us would be successful if the other one wasn't on board.. :) -- (with the healthy living thing not necessarily MFP, but MFP helps!!)
  • Ok here's mine.. now to preface I NEVER ran before about a year ago and here's my little gems.. not that I'm a full on Runner but i can do 5ks :) -- and I CAN run :) Ok so first I highly highly highly recommend the C25K program.. it works and its awesome. you do intervals and it works you up slowly so at the end of the 9…
  • I used the app and the program to start by never running anything in my life and I was able to run several 5ks after completeing the program -- I completely endorse this method..
  • Ok here's my list.. might be wierd but I've got it timed so I can do warm up / elliptical / treadmill running / elliptical #2 and then cooldown.. it works for me so if you like any of these look them up. I use spotify to create my lists -- Don't wanna go home - jason derulo Amaranth - Nightwish The cross - Within…
  • This is true.. just as a example -- you try to get some things organic -- fruits and vegies right.. ok there's double your bill right there..regular milk 299/ gal -- organic 5.59 to over 6$ --- Banannas -- 59 - 69Cents vs 99cents / lb -- the fresh meat that is lean cut vs the crap thats got lots of fat in it and on sale..…
  • TY for posting this.. I was dieing.. PS -- I hope to be a weight belt guy someday :) -- at least the part about doing with one arm what it takes others 2 legs to do.. lol
  • I did the C25K program and literally when I started it I had done next to 0 running.. I confess I had to do a couple of the weeks twice..but I alloted for that and I did mine on a treadmill based on time not distance.. However once I completed that and continued it on the last week -- I have now completed 3 5ks and have my…
  • I agree.. I had a Basic Matabolic Rate test done and I was shocked to see I wasn't eating enough either.. it goes against your brain but you need a set amount for your body to function and loose weight.. else you go into starve mode and won't lose anything.. lots of blogs postings on it.. look up eating excercise calories…
  • I'm sure you'll get lots of responses but I have a polar Rs300x and love it.. its not super expensive .. but for more basic functionality I think a lot of people have the Polar F4 which is just under 100 -- the Rs300x can be found for right around 100 to a little over online -- Prices listed are in USD

  • I agree with Singer -- i was feeling similar recently as we all want it done now now now .. right?? but its a slow process.. so just to give my own mind some perspective.. when I went into the walmart I picked up a 30lb bag of dog food and just carried that up and down the isle (needed to buy it for my dog too) -- but you…
  • Well from a technical perspective the Xbox is a higher end system with better graphics.. and now that the kinect is out I can say I'm truely impressed with it.. prior to this I would have said Wii due to the revolutionary game play even though less than HD graphics.. But ultimatly it comes down to what you want to do with…

  • Besides the sodium I'm not sure.. but what I've noticed is that a good nights sleep before the "weigh in" seems to net me a little additional lbs off than if I skimp on my sleeping that day.. just something interesting I've noticed over time.. weird huh??
  • Did you look at this link? http://www.exercisetv.tv/wplans-details.aspx?id=2252#tabs-4
  • For me I haven't had the same problem.. I will admit that the last 8 min seems to be tough.. I'm on W7D2 -- what I have been doing though is making sure I'm not "running" too fast.. I've done it all on treadmill so far and my Avg speed is about 4.7 -- 4.8 MPH now.. I started doing my runs at 4.5 -- I'm just focusing on the…
  • I think its also important to note that you weigh yourself at the same time and be consistant.. what I've noticed is that during the week my weight is like the stock market.. up and down on a day to day basis but each monday my "weigh in" day its trending down so I'm happy..
  • I take what my HRM tells me and run it through here.. but I also know my VO2 number and I generally use the lower of the 2 numbers just to stay on the safe side.. http://www.braydenwm.com/calburn.htm My HRM is a Polar RS300X which is AWESOME!!

God Bless the USA!!! I hope this brings in some small way some comfort to those who lost someone on 9-11
