  • This isn't going to sound terribly exciting...but I'm gonna go shopping for SMALLER jeans. Not bigger.
  • That is amazing! Congrats!
  • I've got friends on MFP with eating disorders that they're trying to overcome. I've been very public about the fact that I've overcome anorexia/bulimia, so if I can offer support in that regard I'll do it. If I see someone eating dangerously low calories, though, I'll say something to them. I figure they asked me to be…
  • I found strawberry @ my local grocery store (Copps in WI) and bought them on a whim. No worries re: eating too many; one fills me up!
  • Me too, for reading at least. Thing is, no one told me it was because I was *good* at reading. I thought I was being punished.
  • You've lost 21 pounds so far! Do you *really* want to have to lose it again by not continuing all the hard work you're doing?? Not to mention - You've lost 21 pounds so far!! Imagine what you can do if you stick to this!
  • Today I caught myself slowing down and stopping in front of the full-length mirror and noticing that my pants are too big.
  • That's awesome! Congrats on 135 days in! What a difference it makes, eh?
  • Do you have a heart rate monitor? I don't use one at all, but maybe it would be helpful in this case...? (Just throwing things out here...if you're breaking a sweat I would think it *is* worth logging - would be interested to see what a HRM says you're burning.) I dunno. Obviously everyone's got a different opinion!
  • You don't necessily need to replace the walk - is there a way to change it up a little? Take a longer route, walk faster on the same route, walk w/ hand weights, etc? That would burn a few more calories and not really take up too much more time.
  • Space Worms. I taught it to my first graders back in 1996 or so. I can't remember all the lyrics but the last line is "And they love to do the Space Worm Walk."
  • My opinion: Because your body is already used to it, I wouldn't log it. If you were to change it up - speed up your pace, do it with hand weights or something - then it might be something to log. I walk my dog every day, but I walked him 30 pounds ago, too - so I don't log it.
  • LOVE the title of this topic. Congrats to you! :flowerforyou:
  • Benefits of eating cake: Momentary yumminess. Benefits of NOT eating cake: feeling of pride for making a healthy choice, knowing in the long run it's something you don't NEED (but once in a while it's okay), no guilty feelings for having indulged, no feeling like you have to work out extra hard to make up for eating cake,…
  • I've had some weird-*kitten* stuff happen to me that keeps me from being a non-believer. The weirdest thing was in college. My roommate had a loft that would eat things. One day, she was tearing the room apart looking for her keys and her student ID. Out of frustration, she smacked the side of the loft. The keys/ID fell…
  • I live in Wisconsin, USA. My favorite part of the world (thus far - but then again, I don't get to travel a whole lot anymore) is Scotland, UK. The accent...*swoon*... (The scenery is nice too, though.)
  • Way to go!
  • So far I am NOT a member of the Pants Down in Public club (and really, I'm not looking to join!!), but I've noticed that I have unthinkingly taken off my pants without unbuttoning/unzipping them. Then I'll go back to put them on and think, "Who the heck zipped up my pants...oh wait..."
  • I keep going because a) I've seen results, b) it really becomes a habit after a while. I'm eating better not jut to lose weight but to be healthy, and I think the way I'm doing it is sustainable - I'm not depriving myself, I'm eating enough, and I exercise moderately. That's really it. Stick with it! :flowerforyou:
  • I haven't found a lower fat/lower sugar granola that was significantly low enough to make it worth buying it instead of the regular (my own opinion, of course). Maybe just make room in your day's calories for it? Or make it something to eat less often? I warm it up (so it's like oatmeal) and it takes longer to eat that way…
  • 1490 without exercising. If I work out I eat 'em back.
  • Honestly, I try to keep my hands busy so I'm *not* snacking - either crocheting or messing around on my laptop while I watch TV. Seems to help.
  • The only full sentence (besides basic "Hello, my name is...") I can say in Spanish is "How many weeks pregnant are you?" That doesn't come in handy very often anymore, but it was killer when I worked in an OB clinic. Anyway, welcome! :)
  • Home of Spotted Cow, here! :D
  • Hello and welcome from another Wisconsinite! (Wisconsiner?) Best of luck to you!

  • Well done! I so want to hug you in person!! Been there myself so I know how hard you're working. It's scary, but you're DOING IT! You're kicking ED's butt to the curb! Yay, you! Awesome, awesome, awesome! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
  • Best of luck on your jog AND your journey!
  • I don't do anything else in those clothes - they are my dedicated workout clothes. Once they're on, I'm committed! And darnit, I spent money on them, so no way am I not going to wear them.
  • I'm in a US 12 right now (though I only have 1 pair so I have to wash them frequently...time to go shopping!) in jeans. I'm 5'8", CW is 143 pounds. Last time I was in a size 12 with the same body shape, I weighed 125. Guess this working out stuff *does* pay off! ETA: I could probably get into a smaller size than…
  • Sweet! Way to go!
