"legitimately look ridiculous" - what? Nope. Who cares what the other women look like? Are you losing weight to fit in with them? Maybe at some point in their lives they've struggled with weight issues, too. It's possible. Maybe something's going on with each and every one of them that makes them doubt themselves every…

I would donate them. I shop at Goodwill, so if I need jeans in a different size, I know I'm only going to be spending $3/pair. It's not defeatist to keep them, necessarily, but it's a space saver to get rid of them. Also - if you have jeans that are falling off without a belt, you're a long way from needing to keep them…

I'm personally not a big fan of the "Let's just be friends" thing. If it works and you can truly be friends, that's fabulous. I've never been able to pull it off before when the person breaking up with me has said that. (That could be my own problem, I'm willing to admit.) If you say it, mean it. Do you want him as a…

"I think you have more to learn about yourself before you can claim to know much about these women. You freely admit that you can’t see how anyone could ever be happy being so fat, and when confronted with the truth of such people you conclude they are mentally ill. You never stopped to question the thoroughness of your…

I just upped my calories this morning. Since I started, I've had my goal set at 2 pounds per week, but I've been losing the same 2 pounds now for too long. (My ticker says 26 pounds lost...if you add up those see-saw pounds, it's probably close to 40 or so... ) So I changed my goal to 0.5 pounds per week, which…

George Michael. 8/30/1988 at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit, MI. Section D, row 21, seats 13, 14, and 15. (I went with two girlfriends.) It was a Tuesday. Deon Estus, the bass player for the band, opened for him. I was 14 and screamed myself hoarse - I couldn't talk for 3 days afterward. I remember not wanting to…

:flowerforyou: Way to go! :) :)

I am a huge fan of lists. They're concrete, visible, and you can make copies to put up all over the place so you're constantly reminded of them. :) In this case, maybe try a Pros/Cons list. How would you benefit by getting healthy and losing weight? What would be negative about staying at your current weight and fitness…

Stuff like this makes me glad I'm done with the dating scene... I have never EVER been comfortable with someone opening doors for me - car doors included. It really kind of creeped me out when the one guy I dated who did it insisted on doing it. Every. Single. Time. When DH and I were dating, the person who did the…

1) get it checked out by a medical professional to verify that there's no injury. 2) What kind of surface do you work out on? I started on a really hard floor, but that was tough on my ankles and knees so put down a piece of carpet. It made a BIG difference. 3) When you get to Level 2, I'd suggest continuing w/ the knee…

I've noticed that certain things - like chocolate - tastes *better*. Maybe I'm just a freak. Or maybe it's because I don't eat it nearly as much, and I take the time to savor it...? Probably the first option. ;)

Here's what helped me: Make a list of things to do instead of binge. Post it (maybe in several places) where you can see it. When you feel the need to binge, start doing the things on that list. Mine consisted of things like reading, surfing online, crocheting, knitting, going for a walk, playing with my cats...you get the…

I'm just starting to mix up my breakfasts - cereal some days, 2 poached eggs on 1 piece of toast, fresh fruit w/ cottage cheese, or a piece of toast w/ crunchy peanut butter. My lunches are the same just because I'm at work and it's easiest. Dinner is kinda sorta routine - DH and I always have a "big a** salad night" (as…

Rather than giving in: Can you leave the room? Go for a walk? Go work out to a DVD? Plug in to an ipod and literally tune them out? Failing any of those - go to bed and lie down? Scream at them? Make your voice heard. How old is his son? Maybe sometime when your boyfriend *isn't* shoving food at you, ask him how he…

I try to get to the minimum every day, including the calories I've burned off by exercising. For me it's a healthier choice to NOT go under the 1200. I don't always make it, but I feel better / healthier knowing that I'm only down by 100 as opposed to 400 or more. I don't generally fret about days that I go over, either.…

Very cool - I apologize if I read something wrong. I thought I saw that someone DID have a problem with it if there was no photo involved, and that made me wonder.

For those who don't accept friend requests unless they have pictures...why? I can understand the no message thing - though if someone doesn't include a message in a request to me I can usually figure out why they're asking (usually it's because I posted a response to thread) but I don't need to know what someone looks like…

I've been told Dana Delaney, Melissa Gilbert, and "someone from a really old movie...from the 80s."

I love my MFP friends! They keep my head in the game. Honestly my real-life friends have other things to talk about than weight loss/healthy eating/exercise, so this is where I can talk about all that stuff and not bore the pants off anyone. My friends here know what I'm doing, how I'm doing it, and are SO supportive. I…

Heh...i just looked over my friends list, actually. It's a tough call. I want to be supportive of them and I know life can get in the way of checking in, even on a smart phone. However, if I send a note to that person checking in on them and they don't respond after a week - I figure they're not interested in pursuing this…

Wow, way to go! That's incredible! :)

Do you have a hair crimper?

DH and I are going through Star Trek. Finished The Original Series, and we're in Season 4 (or 5?) of Next Gen. Deep Space 9, Voyager, and Enterprise will follow. Either that or the Brewers game. They're on a hot streak - got a triple play on Monday night! Woot!

What's your all-time favorite candy bar? Does it come in a mini-size? If not, can you break it in half/freeze it? There's no law that says you have to eat it all at once, but there's also nothing that says you have to give it up completely, either. Portion control is key. Although...for me, once I really got serious about…

RESULTS. I can do push ups now! Not many, but I can do them. I'm getting stronger. DH commented the other day (looking at my arms) that I'm starting to get ripped! I can now do those d**n walk-out pushups with Jillian & crew. I can do high knees and plank-jacks, too. AND - this is incredible to me - I'm wearing clothing…

I'm on Level 2. Not sure what day I'm on because I missed 4 days due to illness and then 2 days due to vacation. I'll finish out this week on Level 2 and then go to level 3. I'm losing more inches than weight. I didn't take any measurements, but I can tell you that the last time I was in these clothing sizes I…

I've always stored them still in the shell - why would you peel them first? (I'm not criticizing, honestly curious. I've really never heard of this before.)

You can create it as a recipe under the My Foods section - I did that tonight w/ my dinner. Just put in the ingredients and amounts and it'll tell you the calories.

I do a tiny bit while my lunch is in the microwave - really just a couple minutes - and that revs me up. When I do my real workout at home, it wears me out. :)
