  • Love me some fat free Yoplait. :) I put it in the freezer so it's sorta like ice cream, which I can't eat without turning my tummy upside down. I've tried greek yogurt and...well, ick. More left for you guys who like it. :)
  • Maybe you do really need to eat something? A bit of peanut butter (like a tablespoon) on toast, a serving of almonds, etc? Something with protein to fill you up and give you energy. If not - distraction, distraction, distraction. Work out, do something that keeps your hands busy, etc.
  • Lots of restaurants have their menu nutritional information online. If not you can ask them if they have it handy, or enter the ingredients into the database for a best guess. Just be careful with portion size.
  • 10 pints of strongbow would knock me for a loop - not talking calories!
  • Yeah, it's possible it's powdered milk. I was in high school and then first 2 years of college when i worked there, so we're talking a few years back, but if memory serves it was a liquid mix for both the shakes and the ice cream. I don't recall ever running out, really. Seems like the logical thing to do would be to…
  • Hoping I just missed the humor here... but I worked at McD's for 4 summers and never saw this happen.
  • I have (so far) walked past a dish of candy corn 3 times without having any. I'll have to walk past this same dish probably 3 more times and I KNOW I can resist! I know it's not a huge, calorie-laden deal to have one or two pieces, but I'm saying no anyway!
  • Are your measurements changing? I tend to put on a pound or two when I exercise day after day and don't take a rest day, but my body has DEFINITELY changed. [runs to look in mirror. Why, hello there abs. Nice to meet you! Runs back to computer.] I totally get that it's frustrating, but try using a tape measure instead of a…
  • Well done, OP. Really well done. Recovery isn't easy, but it's SO worth it.
  • I freakin' LOVE this image. The cuteness of this thread is about to make my head explode.
  • love the black & white profile pic!
  • I changed my driving route so I wouldn't drive past McDonald's. I also stopped carrying cash, because most of my fast food purchases were with cash - not on my credit card.
  • I went out and got some new clothes - stuff I wouldn't have worn at my heavy weight. I guess it was more of a necessity than a reward, but it felt good to donate the bigger sizes.
  • "Oh, I'm sorry - did I break your concentration?" - Pulp Fiction "You people. If it doesn't come from a Charlton Heston movie, it's not worth knowing, is it?" - Dogma "If I had a tumor, I'd name it Marla." - Fight Club "F*** Martha Stewart. Martha Stewart's polishing the brass on the Titanic. It's all going down, man!" -…
  • F**kton. A unit of measurement. I first heard it on Dexter. "How much caffeine have you had?" "[not remembering the exact quote] About a metric f**kton."
  • I do mini-workouts while my lunch is in the microwave. Today I ran up and down the stairs a bunch of times; some days I do squats/lunges, or butt-kicks. It's amazing how even a little bit wakes me up for the afternoon.
  • Who the heck told you you looked dull?! I can't imagine saying that to anyone. *grumble* Go with your feeling!
  • What would you say to someone else who had posted this?
  • I generally consider the kitchen closed after I finish logging for the day - after my workout, after dinner and I hit the "finish logging" button or whatever it's actually called. I *can*, of course, eat afterwards - nothing's off limits - but I generally choose not to.
  • A-freaking-MEN.
  • I don't feel guilty about food anymore. Guilty feelings do nothing for me other than make me feel bad. If I enjoyed how something tasted, why would I want to mix that in with feeling bad about it? It's already done - you ate the cake. At the time it tasted good, you said so yourself. What good is feeling guilty about it…
  • I am wearing SIZE 10 jeans today. I have never in my adult life worn size 10 jeans. (Well, when I was eating disordered and icky skinny, but I'm not counting that.) I love Goodwill. 4 pairs of jeans for $20. I am healthy and fit and - dare I say it - looking pretty dang good!
  • I didn't consult mine before doing this. I was a little afraid of being talked OUT of it, because she's seen me come back from an eating disorder. I know she (and all my loved ones) are worried that I'm going to go off the deep end again - all I can do to reassure them is NOT do it. So I lost the weight on my own, over 6…
  • I used to live in Michigan and I miss it - went to high school in Ann Arbor, college in Alma, and lived for a while in Grand Rapids.
  • Fiber One Bars. My new favorite flavor is Oat & Strawberry. SO YUMMY.
  • DH and I buy candy to give out that we know we won't eat - i.e., nothing chocolate. We also don't tend to buy a lot - one or two bags. When it's gone, we shut off our light. Sorry kids...
  • "Flashdance" sweatshirts - inside out and the sleeves cut off. Homemade. In peach. BIG bangs. Side ponytails. Pink reebok hightops. (I actually kinda miss those!) Jelly shoes. (Those were the most God-awful uncomfortable things on the planet!) Jelly bracelets. Furbies. Cabbage Patch Kids. Seriously, how ugly were they?!…
  • I did the Shred - the workouts are about 20 - 25 minutes long. Not bad at all. For me they were really challenging, but one of Jillian's "helpers" does a lot of the moves modified, so I followed her for some of it until I got stronger. I didn't go 30 days without missing a day - life interfered. I don't think you benefit…
  • Maybe they think you look really good, so it's "safe" for you to eat that way again?
  • I am not a big-nosed greyhound.
