Speak with a doctor if you must, but these people state the truth. Starvation mode is a big fat myth. How would holocaust get down to skin and bones? Wouldn't they be nice and plump since the body is holding onto calories? Also, someone else mentioned the minnesota starvation study, which mimicked the starvation like…

Oh I'm sorry! Try not to get too upset, I'm sure that woman didn't mean to cause any harm.

That's a good point about exercise reinforcing healthy eating, especially when it comes to weight loss. If I bust my *kitten* at the gym and find out I've only burned off 200 calories, I'm going to think very carefully about eating that late night snack that comes in at 350. But back to the main post, I think perhap you…

I've been seeing articles like this recently, but I thought the point they were making is not that exercise isn't important, but that diet is more important to weight loss. Makes sense. The average obese person can't exercise off 1000 calories in a go, but you sure can eat 1000 calories in one meal/snack/milkshake. The…

Only a couple days? Weight fluctuates daily, some more than others. Look at a weekly trend rather than day to day, that will drive you crazy!
-
Ok, I checked the diary. If you're sure everything is accurate then ok. But the entry for the whole wheat bun seems wrong. Only 46 calories for a bun? If you've only eaten 600-700 calories for a day or two, it's fine ( as long as you're not ready to eat your own hand off!). This shouldn't cause any damage, and as long as…

Your burger alone should have been 500-600 calories. Make sure to check serving sizes on your labels, and weigh or measure accurately. Remember sometimes entries on MFP are incorrect, so for items you're not sure about try looking at a few similar entries to get ballpark range for that food. If the one you used is way off,…

50 pounds made a huge difference on your frame! Good job, and good luck losing more!
-
That's a tough one! Being hungry all the time sucks! Try including enough veggies to help you feel full, and get enough water. Fruit makes good snacks/ desserts.
-
I've wondered the same thing, it doesn't say on packaging if it's meat only, or bones included. I went on the safe side and assumed bones were included, so I probably overestimated my calories.
-
You look like a whole new person! Seriously!
-
Count me in! Add me
-
Not really, I feel kinda intimidated. Especially if I'm getting stares like I don't belong there.

If your weight loss is happening too quickly, then add in more calories. Otherwise, if it's on track, I don't see a problem!

I hear you. I too was scared that I would dump the diet after a week, a month, whatever. I was scared I would decide it was too hard, not worth it, not right now. I was scared I would get a disappointing number on the scale and think "forget it, I guess I can't lose weight". Well, here I am, 20 pounds lighter, still going…

Were you using the same scale to weigh yourself? Scales can vary a lot. Another thought is water weight. If you were eating at a deficit as you claim, you could still gain water weight due to medication, sodium intake, exercise, or menstrual cycle. If it's not water weight, and it's not error from the scale, then you are…

Be patient! 1.8 pounds a week is nothing to be disappointed about! You are doing something right so just keep on losing.

Save some calories for night time indulgences, and stock your house with some lower calorie alternatives to your normal fair to munch on guilt free. I take care of four kids too, I know it's hard. Skinny cow ice cream is great. You can have 51 goldfish for like 130 calories. Have a sucker or hard candy to just suck on,…

I took a break for the holidays too, but they're gone for another year, so back to business.

Low fat popcorn, broth based soups, hard boiled egg, sugar free jello, any fruit, string cheese. But seriously, work on finding something else to comfort you besides food. Warm bath? Phone a friend? Cuddle with a pet?
-
How much do you have to lose?
-
That may not be a realistic goal for that time frame. To lose the first 15 to 20 pounds, maybe a pound a week, the last 5 to 10 pounds are more difficult and should go about .5 pounds per week.

^What she said.

There are groups on here you should check out. Just having friends on here to vent to, rant, whine, etc really helps. We all try to encourage each other.

Please don't lose any more weight. Losing more weight will NOT make you a better dancer. I don't buy that "there's a different standard for ballerinas" crap. No, there isn't. What they are doing is telling you your body isn't ok the way it is and you are already borderline underweight as it is. That is totally…

Scientific consensus says yes. GMOs are regarded as safe for both people and the environment and there is a lot of fear mongering out there.
-
Great suggestions so far. I'd be willing to invest in small equipment, like a yoga mat, or a resistance band.

My mailbox is right out the door, nice try! I really can't leave my baby inside alone, so that's why it needs to be inside stuff.
-
I would say after you sleep, but as long as it's the same time of day every time (for consistency) then whatever time works best for you.

It's going to be brutal to stop all that snacking cold turkey. I suggest just looking what you eat at first, but don't change your habits until you see exactly what you're eating and when. Then, once you see where your problem areas are, start making changes. Logging everything you eat definetely makes you think about…
