It's amazing what we can do when we set out goals with a plan. The only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time. For me, I have to set realistic goals and I've found that a proper balanced 3 meal a day diet with exercise has been working. When I stop recording my daily food, I tend to slip. Right now if I can loose an…

found it! The Forerunner 620 and 220 has an on-board accelerometer that is pre-calibrated with a table of default values based on the averages of many runners. The watch refines this calibration every time you use the watch outdoors with GPS. In addition to built in table, the watch will also adapt to your specific running…

thanks for the reply, you might be right on that, but I think that distance could be recorded by cadence. I guess I should look at the users manual because when you're outside it uses GPS for the distance

I do a 60 min circuit training session with a professional trainer. In the cardio section of where you log into exercise, type in circuit training. Put in the minutes you train and cut whatever it says to maybe half. The amount of calories they have set up, seems too high. I just bought a heart rate monitor and have used…

Thank you all with the great advice! Sounds like I need to make a more realistic goal. I've followed some of the posted links which I found very useful, thank you. So far, I have broken it down to this: Monday - 60 min 5.0 jog (no breaks) Treadmill set on 1% incline Tuesday - Interval Training 4 x 400m runs, 4 x 400m walks…

I believe this. I was not aware that our body needed to consume so much water per day. It's something we always read in high school health class, but in the late 80's and 90's not many companies where marketing bottled water yet, mostly soda. I grew up thinking you drank when you felt thirsty and that it was rude to stay…

Soreness after working out is referred to "delayed onset muscle soreness" or DOMS. They are tiny microscopic tears that occur in the muscle as a result of high intensity exercise or an extended use of a muscle group that you don't normally use. There are many blogs about it on the internet. Just make sure that it isn't a…

There are two different issues here, so I'll talk mostly on the most important issue. The issue that I see is about personal finance and your relationship with your boyfriend. First, everyone should have a monthly personal budget goal, especially "spending money budget" People fail at their personal expenses, me included,…

Hey man, I appreciate the honesty about how much you drink. I love to drink too but my desire to loss weight and maintain a healthy life style is more important to me right now. I'm Korean and love my "SOJU" and like many Koreans, I could easily drink a bottle that totals in 540 calories. Nights out with my buddies or even…

Thanks for the link! BMR is 1934 and the TDEE is 2999 Based on http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/lose-weight-fast-how-to-do-it-safely it says I can safely lose 3 pounds a week. I really appreciate the early heads up from all of you. It sounds like I need to invest some time in my nutrition plan!

I think maybe my last weeks losses were mostly water weight and guessing that my weight loss will slow down after this coming week. 5 lbs a week does sound alittle crazy too me and sometimes I feel light headed during the day.

It sounds you have a good plan bro. Interval training works for many people. Overtime, the redundancy of running tends to hit plateaus and interval training helps break that. For me, I'm just getting started and only a week or so into a new routine so I have some time before I'll need to be concerned with plateaus. If…

Thanks for the reply guys! My plan is to keep down the calories, weight training, and lots of cardio. Currently doing 2x 30min running sessions and 1x 50 min weight training. Unfortunately, my treadmill speed is set ridiculously low but will increase it 0.1 each day. Today I was at 5.1 speed and scheduled to be at 6.0 by…
