  • It's spelled weird "mint", Achievemint. Its a site that you can connect various apps, healthy sites, and devices (fitbit, myfitnesspal) to and get rewarded for using them. It's pretty cool. I had originally heard about it on the fitbit users group on here but the information on it is pretty hard to find. I thought I'd post…
  • Yeah this is totally fine. I do it often for Saturday as that day I sometimes have larger portions or something that's higher calorie. Then I will "pay back" those calories the following days of the week as needed. I weigh only weekly, on Saturday morning so this works out for me. Also if I have something planned for a…
  • Yeah, I know what you mean. I originally had my goal as 150 and I was there and maintained for a while before the problems I had last year. But even at 150 I was not really 100% happy. Still had some problem areas I wasn't thrilled about. So I've been thinking this time that I am probably going to go down to about 140 and…
  • I just got my scale in March and I am in love! Yes I resisted it a long time as I was doing it just fine and successfully without one, but I was having a problem since February. When I got about 15lbs away from goal. Could not seem to break past the point I was at now, so I'd been thinking about getting a food scale and…
  • I have no idea, I'm going into my 8th week on the Body by You program and loving it. I'm just using stuff around the house, doorknobs, counters, chairs etc. I use the YAYOG app to create custom workouts for my cycle days on the Body By You program, then just update the workout routine as I progress. Hope you started and…
  • Get a digital food scale and weigh everything. I know everyone says it, and I certainly did not originally "need it" so I had resisted. I have just a few pounds left and was having a hard time losing much if any for a month. I thought, Ok, I'm going to try this and see if this is the problem. Bought one, and it's make a…
  • Wow, these look great. Think I'll half the recipe and then only use two eggs. Can you buy shaved Parmesan cheese or do I have to do that myself? (only Parmesan I'm used to is the pre-grated kind) haha!
  • Hi :flowerforyou: I hear you, and I think I qualify  Over my journey (check my profile) I've definitely experienced what you are talking about. Several weeks of doing everything you can and knowing you were "dead on" with everything yet no results. Or worse, the up down of the same darn pound each week. I hate to…
  • I prefill out my MFP each evening for the next day. The only thing I do not plan out ahead are my snacks unless for some reason I know I want to have something for sure the next day. But usually, I just decided my snacks at the time of based on what I want to have and how many calories I have left. At work we only get paid…
  • I just got my scale two weeks ago and I am in love! Yes I did it this long successfully without one, but I was having a problem since February. Could not seem to break past the point I was at now, so I'd been thinking about getting a food scale and been wanting one. So I read on here that a few people really liked the…
  • Congrats on your 34 lb loss! That's great! I'm also impressed with the fact that during that time period this is your first "gain" that showed on your scale. My chart is up and down like a seesaw from logging my weigh-ins. I log in excel to create a chart which show's my downward trend. Example…
  • Yeah, I've been wondering this myself. I am on my 4th week now of the Body by You (You Are Your Own Gym for women) bodyweight strength training program, and my weight has been all over the place without any other changes to what I've been doing deficit, cardio exercise etc. I keep waiting for it to level out and drop off…
  • This is all great information. So just recently in addition to following my 1lb deficit here on MFP, I'm now into my third week doing the Body by You (YAYOG for women) bodyweight training in addition to my walking (fitbit). I am doing this as I am about 20-ish lbs away from my ultimate goal and want to really work on all…
  • Yes! I'm always cold now. I had thought it would eventually regulate out, but nope. It's been years and still cold. I've had thyroid, iron, etc all tested to try and figure it out. Everything is good. I am just cold haha! I love my space heater at work, always wear layers, always have a hoodie or sweater. But on the plus…
  • That actually made me LOL! With that and your pic from A Bugs Life, made me think of dung balls
  • I also agree with the miralax and the a good ol' glycerin suppository. The miralax does take time to work as others have pointed out, normally a few days if you are backed up bad. I used it after my abdominal surgery as I had been warned of the problems I would have going after my surgery and from the pain medicine. So…
  • We plan out our meals when we go grocery shopping every two weeks. So I already basically know what we will be having what day. So I prelog every night what I will have the next day. The only thing I do not prelog are my evening snacks, as those change based on what I want at the time and on my burned calories.
  • Generally I avoid extra snacking at my desk if I can by pre-planning snack time. I have two sunsweet dried plums (prunes) on my first break everyday in the morning. I try to resist having anything else until lunch time. Now, that being said, there are some days every once in a while that this is just not going to happen…
  • So in addition to following my 1lb deficit here on MFP, I'm now into my second week doing the Body by You (YAYOG for women) bodyweight training in addition to my walking (fitbit). I am doing this as I am about 20 lbs away from my ultimate goal and want to really work on body recomposition. (belly, arms, thighs) I still…
  • Yes, you'll still get the up down fluctuations even with the weekly weigh ins. I see this all the time with myself. I did my own chart in excel after reading this thread: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1196878-weight-is-not-consistant-loss-is-not-linear And mine looks exactly like that. With ups and downs, but…
  • I actually have pretty mad skills....no nunchuck skills but I don't think that detracts too much from my worth  Seriously, I may live in the city now but I was raised a country gal so I can fish, hunt (gun, bow, cross-bow), trap it, fix it all and cook it up real nice and tasty. I have wilderness survival training…
  • I wouldn't worry to much about eating clean. I'm one of the "dirty" eaters around here and it's never affected my weightloss results. I throw in the better for you stuff here and there and do some healthier substitutions etc, but do not worry too much about it if weightloss is your goal. I just want to say that I also work…
  • I agree with this. Personally, If I was just starting out and was pushing myself to do 2 hours of cardio a day...I might make it two weeks before I quit. It does not have to be that hard. I'd start with walking and add some bodyweight training exercises for your muscles. Put your weekly weight loss goals in MFP and let it…
  • Yes! You can totally do it! I've went from a US size 24 to now 10 or 12 depending on the brand. I'm not totally where I want to be back at yet but I hope to get to my "goal" weight and do some more body recompositions. Might even have a 8 or even 6 in my future lol!
  • :noway: Wow, that is a really low NET calorie level. I do not know how you are sustaining your body's functioning on that for months. Yes, I was shocked when I read 33lbs in two months....but then read about their NET calories and I can see the problem.
  • Wow, everyone should do one of these charts. It's really an eye opener to see the linear trendline. I weigh only on Saturday, so the weeks I'm "mysteriously" up and gained...it's hard to keep positive sometimes. Even though I know from experience it's a blip and not to pay any attention, it's still hard not to dwell. But…
  • What were your other battery issues with the other units as you say this is your 4th one? I am wearing mine in the middle of my bra in front during the day (work etc). In the evening at home I move it to my waistband of my sweats, pajama pants, workout clothes or whatever. I have had mine since Christmas day, and just last…
  • FYI, I lost 1.9lbs this week when I weighed on Saturday, so you can see from above that it all worked out. Trust the process and just keep trudging onwards :)
  • Wow, this is good to know. I did not know that ibuprofen and aleve make you retain water like that. I have severe endometriosis and so when my period is getting ready to start my gyno surgeon advised I load up on ibuprofen to get ahead of the pain and help reduce the severity and inflammation. I also have high prescription…
  • I weigh every Saturday morning naked, first thing after waking up and going to the bathroom. I do not eat or drink anything before weighing. I enter my weight on here every time, up or down.
