So in other words, just use Fitbit to track both and give up on MFP for tracking food? MFP does track nutrients, macros, etc.
-
I'm still having syncing issues. MFP is giving me very tiny calorie amounts for fitbit adjustments, despite significant exercise.
-
This has been happening on and off for about two weeks. Mine is finally syncing, but underestimating calorie burn by a substantial amount. Yesterday got 92 calories for 45 minutes on a treadmill and an hour power yoga class.
-
Mine finally sync'd tonight, after I posted that I was switching from MFP to LoseIt, and I've actually installed LoseIt on my phone. Like the car that starts running after you decide to get rid of it, MFP decided to work with Fitbit.
-
Thanks for the link. LoseIt actually gives me fewer calories and fewer exercise calories, but it's still better than zero exercise calories, which is what I'm getting now from MFP. LoseIt might be giving me fewer because it's not so wed to the 1200 as the absolute minimum as MFP is. As an older, smaller woman, my BMR on an…

It's not you -- it's MFP. MFP has not been syncing properly with Fitbit for about two weeks. Mine went from giving me very few calories (despite days with more than 10,000 steps -- I got 72 calories for a day when I was on a treadmill for 40 minutes, did an hour of yoga, plus 20 minutes of strength training) to absolutely…

I'll try all this when I have time and see if it works. A half hour's worth of steps to get something working that should be doing it automatically....
-
Same here. Either not syncing at all or giving miniscule calorie adjustments. Today MFP gave me 19 calories after 45 minutes on a treadmill, 60 minutes of yoga, and 20 of strength training. Fitbit gave me 180 just for the treadmill time.
-
Mine's not sync'ng either. I've tried uninstalling it in mfp, logging out, revoking access on Fitbit side, then re-installing -- still no sync. I ended up manually entering the exercise calories I got from my Fitbit dashboard. This isn't the first time it's happened. It's all on the MFP side, and they never fix the problem.

What is worse -- not making up for the inactivity, or spending extended time in the gym? You don't have to go to the gym, just eat less. But for me anyway, the math is sort of depressing with just eating ]less alone. I'd rather be more proactive, I guess. I hear you there. One of the depressing things is with the Fitbit…

Thanks for all your reassurances. This is the first time I've had a space of this much inactivity since 2007. Usually I'm at the gym more after Xmas because that's my break. I also think my 2 years with a fitbit have made me a bit obsessive, but actually when going to the gym post holidays I do see way more people there…

Thanks for all the responses. She actually drinks a lot more milk than I do -- a cup or more a day, not just a splash in coffee, so cutting it would make a big calorie difference for her. She might have other reasons for cutting -- as she is really cut and toned, so she's aiming for a certain physique. She's pretty strict.…

Mine was syncing earlier today, then I looked at MFP tonight all my activity calories had disappeared.
-
Mine was syncing, but today all my activity calories disappeared, when they were showing earlier!

Most yoga tops have a "shelf bra" or some kind of support. I'd say for the average to small busted woman, it's probably OK.

I had a Taylor digital scale but ditched it because it was wildly unreliable, displaying differences of as much as 25 lbs. a day or just error messages. I returned it 3 times before throwing the last one out. Now, I use a Sunbeam dial scale like you'd see at your grandma's. I just make sure it's zero'd properly before…

It wouldn't surprise me that you could lose just giving up soda and candy. I have a son close to your age who lost 35 lbs. once just kicking the soda habit (then put it back on when he went back to the stuff). At 450 calories for a 20 oz. soda, you could easily have been eating 1000 calories more than what you needed just…

I've been having the same problem for about 3 days. I also tried disconnecting and then reconnecting -- no luck.
-
I'm experiencing the same problem. My MFP has only sync'd the 165 steps I did first thing this morning and nothing else.

I had fine, very dark brown straight hair as a young woman. I kept it cut short through my 30s and early 40s, but it started to go gray, so I colored it. When I let it grow out in my early 40s, it was wavy and a bit unmanageable -- the gray hairs were much thicker and coarser, even with the coloring and conditioning. I…

I had one once before I delivered my first baby 28 years ago. Like childbirth, it's not an experience I would choose to have on a frequent basis.

I've used it for a bit, but not had any success, and it's very expensive. From my understanding it's not supposed to support actual loss, but increase fat metabolism so that fat tissue becomes muscle. My hope was that it would take care of my cellulite, which I still have despite working out. I have high cholesterol and…

Most fish is very expensive per pound, and for many people, tilapia, which is the cheapest white fish, is an affordable source of fish protein, and it's versatile. I often use it to make fish tacos. Once in a while, I can get a nice piece of cod for around $5 a lb., but haddock can be as high as $8. While we're all…

"Backwash"? Does that mean some people drink from the bottle. Eww! Anyway today it started to turn sour so I used it up in pancakes instead of buttermilk.

I'm about your height, 5'1", but older (57) and lighter (120 lbs.). I wear a Fitbit Charge HR, which actually measures by burn all day based on heart rate. I'd say my inactive metabolism is at 1200 or even lower (some days as little as 1050 to 1100) so eating that much with no activity would give me 0 weight loss.…

Wine and dark chocolate, sometimes together.
-
I wear a Fitbit Charge HR which does use heartrate to calculate "burn." I do both Vinyasa and more gentle forms of yoga. Quite frankly, MFP overestimates the burn on yoga. I have almost never burned more than 100 calories in an hour of yoga, even the more vigorous types. I am a bit smaller than the average person -- 5'1"…

And then regurgitate the calories I just ate....

Even Ludwig doesn't cut carbs out of existence. In Phase 1, you're allowed beans, fruit, and full fat dairy, which has some carbs. I don't think he has people at 50 g, more like 75-100. However grains aren't allowed until Phase 2. Perhaps you've had success with some of your Type 2 diabetics losing eating grains. However,…

This is the link from when I was tracking our progress with this diet in case anyone is interested. The results were better thAn we had anticipated. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10360039/supporting-spouse-in-diet
