I usually preplan my breakfast, lunch, and snacks, although I don't prelog. One thing I've found helpful -- I've been using a Fitbit Charge HR which shows the calories I've burned throughout the day. When I look at it and see I haven't used up what I've eaten so far but I think I should have a snack, looking at that number…

From her diary, it looks as if OP is eating enough. My original impression was that she was eating 1200 or less. Perhaps the source of fatigue is overtraining. How much exercise is she doing every day? Or it could be a minor flu or if she's in a Northern clime, the fatigue and lethargy that sets in as the days grow…

I'm a bit envious. I'm 56 and only 5'1.5", 120 lbs. I did around 15,000 steps, plus a belly dancing class, and my fitbit charge gave me only 1900 calories by the end of the day! Just remember that to lose, you need to eat 500 calories below what the fitbit gives you, so around 2500 would give you .5 per week weight loss.…

My goal is around 114, but I've never been able to stay below 120. I got to 118 for a couple of weeks last year. To really lose, I have to eat around 1000, and when I tried that, I felt lousy, fatigued all the time, and my nails became brittle. I work out quite a bit, so I've decided to maintain at 120-123, eat at…

I'm jumping in because I'm around OP's size. 5'1.5" and 120 lbs. and have also gone into recomp. For those who say she needs to lose more because lots of gals that height are in the 100-105lb. range doesn't take into account each individual's body type. When I was a young woman, I was that light and very thin, but no…

Yes, because at my age and size, it's very easy to overeat my calorie allotment and put the pounds on. I don't count on vacations and always come back 5-7 lbs. heavier.

Your calorie goal must be pretty low if you can't fit any fruit or enough fiber. I'm usually in the 1200 range and manage to get both into my diet. What's your diary look like? IF your calorie goal is slow low, watch the count on chia seeds. They're 60 calories a tablespoon. An apple's about 80 calories and will fill you…

I do have my FitBit and MFP sync'd. However, the only time I get around 2200 on a Fitbit is if I practically knock myself out exercising -- for instance, if I do an hour of kickboxing and then walk a couple of miles and clean my whole house. I'm also 16 years older than you, WinoGelato, which also makes a difference, since…

I take a multivitamin, as well as some calcium because I'm over 50 and also trying to net around 1200. I live in the Northeast, and one thing I can say -- I'm the only one in my family whose Vitamin D levels have tested normal and who is not on prescription Vitamin D because between diet, the multi, and the calcium with D,…

I eat 25+ g a day, but still have issues with irregularity. If you eat fruits, vegetables, and whole grain breads rather than white, it's pretty easy to meet.

I'm 5'1.5" and maintaining at around 120. I use a Fitbit Charge, which is much more accurate, I think, than what MFP gives me for maintenance. MFP was giving me around 1500+ and then adding exercise which is a huge amount -- sometimes almost 2000 calories (I'd definitely gain eating that much), while the Fitbit gives me…

I don't think I'll lose anything since I'm not losing now and eating below the TDEE number, possibly due to inaccurate tracking, or my one cheat day a week, which may be taking me from deficit to TDEE. If I'm going for maintenance, I'd definitely have to clean up my tracking or I'll gain. Regarding the weight program, I…

I've also been toying with the idea of recomp, and I'm about the same size as OP - 5'1.5" and between 120-123, but almost twice her age (56)! I've plateau'd for a long time and while some say keep cutting back and get more rigorous about tracking, my son (who is into bodybuilding) and a few of my friends say I look fine at…

Sorry, I meant to say that the Fitbit overestimates. For example, I often do a kickboxing class on Friday morning, and by the end of the day, the fitbit says I can have 2000+ calories, but after just sitting and using the computer the rest of the day, my calorie allowance will drop as a result of a sync. By the way, if I'm…

Negative adjustments are also important if you workout in the morning because mfp assumes you will be maintaining that level all day and could overestimate what you need to eat.

Feeling cold can be the result of being underweight or losing weight too fast. It can also be a natural result of having less body fat to insulate and adjusting to that. The poster above (Decemberist) though is underweight and has some of the indicators for an ED -- goal weight of 119 lbs. for a male, and statement that…

What is this based on? I've never been able to do a chin up, and many of my fit female friends can't either. Does that mean we shouldn't be doing bicep curls with weights?

Juice -- too many calories and it doesn't fill me up. I'd rather eat a piece of fruit. The only time I have it is when I'm sick. Just about any breakfast pastry -- donuts, muffins, danish, etc. 500 calories for pure carb and I'd be hungry in an hour. I'd rather have yogurt and fruit or a poached egg and toast. Any of those…

But what if working out gets in the way of meeting other responsibilities?

Actually, my son is studying to become a physical therapist and is very much involved in fitness, body-building, etc. He has talked about becoming a personal trainer. I don't know about the young lady, since I just heard about her second hand from the mom. The young woman is definitely in the mid-20s, not a teen-ager.

I'm another shorter, older person -- 5'1.5", 56, and 120 lbs. I was eating 1200 + exercise and lost about 6 lbs., but haven't gone below 120 in a long time. I'm eating a base of 1000 now, plus whatever exercise calories my fitbit gives me. I have a pretty low metabolism. After a pretty busy day walking all over campus…

I'm around 120 right now (I hover between 120 and 123). I'm 5'1.5" and haven't been able to maintain lower than 120. I have a "base" of 1000 calories and eat back exercise calories that get calculated by my fitbit HR. I do 10,000 steps a day, plus I do zumba or kickboxing twice a week and an over-50 strength training class…

I have visible abs even though I haven't lost weight in almost a year. My husband bought me a bikini on our most recent vacation and he took photographs (but I won't let him post -- I'm a teacher and I can't have my students seeing me like that!)

I guess it all depends on what defines "success" in yoga -- as spiritual practice, that it can lower one's heart rate and metabolism to the point that the body mimics sleep certainly qualifies. Those who are looking at yoga as a "workout" might not see it that way. However, I think it's important that we have physical…

That happened to me once in an off-road vehicle in Monument Valley.

I'm wondering whether it's because I press the button down like I do when I start a workout, but according to the manual, you can also do that to record sleep. Perhaps because I have time motionless, that's what it thinks. Today I didn't set it to "workout mode" during yoga, and it didn't record it as sleep.

Pant size is also dependent on the width of your hips. I'm 5'1.5" and 120 lbs., but can't go below a 6, except in 1 or 2 brands (GAP runs big sometimes). I just can't get anything smaller over my pelvis bones. When I was closer to your weight, I was around a 10. Also, "junior" sizes run smaller; I can still run a 9-10 in…
-
I'm 5'1.5" and eat around 1200 or so; I'm also at your goal weight, 120 lbs. I set my "base" at 1000 and then add activity calculated from a fitbit, so my intake can be anywhere between 1100 and 1600, depending on activity. If you're young, don't eat below 1200; you'll only hurt yourself in the long run. I'm a lot older…

Pilates doesn't do that to my Fitbit either, but in a Pilates class, I'm constantly moving even if it's not intense movement, while in a yoga class, I am still for periods of time. This time, I turned off the workout counter before the final "meditation" -- corpse pose -- that closes class so it wouldn't think the yoga was…

5'1.5". The .5" really counts!
