Just picked up "Fifty Shades of Grey..."...

....and its broad daylight here...Bangalore, India. Some more time before I head off...

I just ran my "offical" 10K run...in 00:58:47. Immediately thought of trying to run a HF. Not many of official ones in India. The next one is in Aug end. So, planning to start training for that. Anyone following a training plan. It would be good if we can share and track ourselves against that. ATB, PK

I have an HRM. but here is the problem....in case of running (on treadmill), it gives more cals burned compared towhat m/c says....however,...in case of elliptical, it gives much less than what machine says.... Am confused which to rely on...for now am just taking the avg of m/c and HRM. Suggestions welcome... Cheers, PK

Not long time back, I too was not a elliplical guy. Would prefer running any day to it. Then one day, I hurt my knee. Pain would just not go away. Had to leave it out for almost a month...it still hurts if I run even moderately fast (earlier I used to run upto 12/13 kmph)... Rather than being depressed, I had to do…

tracking for later...interested myself, but PM my email when off work...

Thanx. Going to look them up today and make them part of my work-out from tomorrow.

Who says you can't? Go ahead and try.

I just had this exact issue with my right knee. Though not with elliptical but running (I have been running for over a year now, and recently was running upto 10K on weekend). Initially physian gave me some anti-inflamatory drug, which reduced and subsequently eliminated it....I had to stop work out for a week. But as soon…

Let's schedule some challenge there for MFP buddies..

I would love to meet the locals, but I guess it is easier said than done.

A protein bar might be a good idea. It won't have much carb / fat / sugar for overnight deposits, but enough protein to recover. I am guessing...experts might have a different view.

For me, its "curvalicious" any time. Women are hot anyway, but that makes them "hotter" for me. :)

Yes. These and many more...are you looking for me?

Apologies and no offense meant to anyone. As soon as I read this subject line, started having dirty thoughts  I visualized "mangoes" and then started wondering what "African one" would be. Guess it is time to head home and channel my energy in "right" way.

Whatever suits to each....tho' why shd anyone mind?

Welcome. Can understand your worry. But rest assured you are in right community now. :flowerforyou: Now, 14lb in 3 weeks seems pretty steep to me, especially keeping in mind yoru recent health issue. You need to make it gradual. It will help with your eating issue too. All the best.
-
I do not see what's the issue here. Till one burns more so that he or she could eat what and how much he likes - and assuming that its healthy and remains within the net calorie needs - I see no reason why one can't do that.
-
Though it could have been better, you still look quite gorgeous in the saree.

Can someone please share some insight into this concept of "GOOD FAT" (vs BAD FAT). Please share there is a article to refer to.

Hi Anu, there are quite a few fitness and health shop. I am not sure tho as to where you would find Greek Yogurt..

Haven't we talk about it sooooooooooo many times? Muscles "Weighs more"? nope. Like everyone will think 1LB is 1LB. period. But like many of us know as well, muscle in equal weight as fat will take much less space. So, this means that muscle is "DENSEr", not more "HEAVier". Got it? or is it too "Dense"? Just kidding.. :)

I was obese /overweight when I started...could hardly rune for more than 5 mions (staminawise). Now I run 5K regularly )almost 2-3 times every week), and a 10K every Sat/Sun. Have run 1 open 6K so far just to test me, now preparing to run a open 10K...

Is there a popular Nike+ challenge going on?
-
Both have their benefits and challenges: I have been using Treadmill for some time now. It has definitely helped me (and continues to do so) build speed, stamina and distance. I can go much faster, much longer. I can try different settings and track lots of data with ease for comparison on how I am progressing. It has made…

I am abt 154lb (70 kg). I do HIIT for about 25 mins + 5 mins cooldown. In total, my HRM reports about 500 Cals, when I do 9.5kph jog (90s) and about 16kph run (30s) during HIIT. Treadmill reports much less. I go by my HRM.

Still some distance away - budget wise - from getting my IPhone. So, instead getting my NIke+ sensor this weekend. Already have an account on NikeRunning website. So, finally will be on that website from Monday onwards...Looking forward to it...

Apart from toning up, losing some weight etc, I think my best NSV is being able to inspire my wifey to join with me in the fitness journey. I am loving seeing her trying hard to keep up and do her bit, despite her hectic schedule of managing her daily life which includes handling 2 kids, her FIL and MIL, and her demanding…
