  • I don't get it.... It starts by saying..."there was no firm evidence backing up claims that drinking so much (6-8 glass) was necessary to prevent dehydration." Though I start thinking...is that strong enough argument to not to??? :frown: Anyway, It ends by saying..."...EFSA's opinion to drink 1.5l to two litres of water…
  • Well...in one of discussions I had to face "regional" and "racial" comments from fellow members. I don't want to generalize that but for sure it has prevented me from reaching to people on 1:1 basis anymore. So, for now, I just use this website to do my own thing, learn from reading the experiences from others MFPians and…
  • One thing to watch out is how much you eat. The whole pack is 15 servings and each serving has 140 cals. Meaning if we each whole pack in 15 servings (3 tsp only) we will have 140 cals for each serving. (Whole pack will give 140*15 = 2100 cal). That's a lot for me. Also, FAT and Sugar seems too high for serving size - 9g &…
  • At work, I keep two 1L water bottles. I fill them as soon as I step in. Target is to se them empty before I leave for home. If they are empty before my day is over, I refill, and drink as much I can before EOD. Biggest challenge for me is when I am at home. With everyone present - my wifey, kids, parents - I am just unable…
  • Exactly my experience...and I am cool with it...I am going for long term permanent fitness with balanced lifestyle rather than a short term loss which will come back.
  • It would be around 800-900 cals.
  • You can check in any India grocery store. It is a staple in India...
  • @muth3rluvx2: great insight. Totally agree. I guess I need to do my bit more for my "Sexy" one...
  • I guess there is a pattern here: 1. If wife works out a lot (and husband does not), husbands are more or less supportive - obviously, they could be lured by increasing degree of "hotness" in their counterparts. 2. If husband works out a lot (and wife does not), wifes do tend to have a negative approach towards it.…
  • Abstract and Complicated. The conclusion is very data and example specific. P.S. I agree with the fact and conclusion. I can see that with my better half and her struggle to lose even a small amount of wt.
  • Thanx Anu for replying.. Gosh, I was scared no one would reply. I am sure there are people from India on this forum (search returns many results...), but just not sure why they do not want to meet others....some concerns may be. Great to hear from you. If you are ok to connect, I can send you a friend request.
  • Are there any informative details about "Gluten-free" eating I can read and udnerstand it better?
  • Have regularly done my 5K in gym. Just ran a 6K run this Sunday under 30 mins (translates to some 25 mins for 5K). As a prep for that, I had run 7K in 50 mins on Saturday. Today, ran outdoor - 3.5K in 20 mins. Preparing to run 10K now. Hoping to do it under 1 hr. As soon as I do, you all will know.
  • Thanx all. Yes, I did only 6K (apologies for mentioning it as half marathon). I checked later the definition of HF (at certainly is more than that). Next on target - 10 K attempts on treadmill (prep) for next opportunity.
  • Most accurate way would be to meet a nutritioninst/dietician in person and get a good idea about it. Rest will all be debatable...
  • @cm..: You are absolutely right. But that applies to any tool or teacher.. that's why god has given everyone a brain and common sense inside that to use....we are what we desire for ourself, not what others (living and non-living included)...
  • Interesting read and discussion. My 2 cents: MFP does not do such a bad job. with some googling and reading on various websites, here are my observations: - Thumb of rule: My Body wt (lb) * 10 = 1593 - www.body-perfect-fitness.com: The Harris-Benedict Equation: 1615 - Bodytransformation.com: BMR - 1578 - MFP (with my…

  • Still no one from India...living or originating from?
  • Still no one from India...lining or origin?
  • Guess will have to wait till I have enough to spend for my Gizmos....I feel bad...
  • I want to improve but want to keep my life balanced. I believe that if I try to quit something I like, there will be higher chances for temptation and regression, and weight-loss / fitness will not be permanent. Rather, MODERATION and WATCHING WHAT GOES IN is the key. Having said that, somethings are a strict no-no, if…
  • Now that I did my run today, I want to update the details and ....I can't. Seems I can't update the details manually, and it can be only done through Nike gears >> (IPod, Itouch, etc + Sensor) Am I right, or is there a way to update my details directly on the site... HELPPPPPP !!!!
  • Thanx all for replying. The responses bring relief to me. India is a tropical country and is generally warm throughout teh year. I have been working out quite rigorously as well. But I don't think I can drink gallon at a time. That would be too much to ask from myself. Thanx again all!
