Great job!!!

When do you workout? I usually work out in the morning. I like a breakfast of carbs for energy and protein for faster recovery. Otherwise, I eat something pretty light if I'm not working out.
-
Food scale! It certainly opened my eyes to how much I was really eating. What I thought was a 3oz portion of chicken was really usually over 4 oz. That is just one of my examples. It's all much less food that you think.
-
Loved them! Great results too.
-
Patience and be sure you are measuring and logging correctly.

Maybe try something different. Have you heard of 9Round? See if there is one near you. You can try it for free. So fun and so motivating. I love it. I always look forward to going. Look into it.

I don't have "cheat" days. I just enjoy what I want every day within my calorie limits.

Diet is key and no, heavy lifting will not make you bigger. You will get toned and once you lose the fat by eating in a deficit, you will have nice toned muscles. Losing weight will reveal the muscles. Be patient.

I am definitely more strict during the week. On the weekends I let my hair down a little but I am still always aware. I have learned not to deprive myself of anything so I pretty much balance out. I love ice cream. I have it a few times a week and just pay attention to my calorie intake. If I want a burger, I have a burger…

Set a goal, plan a trip. Always motivates me.

Doing pushups is the only way to get strong enough to do pushups. Even doing just one, then try two, and so on. Before you know it, you will be able to do several.

YES! God gave me this one body to take care of. I want to do him proud. Plus, I want to be healthy and happy for my kids and husband.
-
Both. I have a sister who is huge. She is much younger than me. I doubt she knows what a proper serving size is and she just doesn't care. Her husband and kids are obese too. Don't they want to be healthy? I just don't get it.
-
Yes. Try the chocolate sea salt. really good.
-
Thanks you guys. Not sure what the fitbit did but I knew it was high.

Have you heard of 9Round? Awesome 30 minute full body kickboxing gym. Look it up.

Interesting. So, all of the info I have read and people I have spoken with are wrong. I guess the real answer here should be to do what is right for you. What feels right to you...what gets you the best results because there will always be two sides of the coin and only the individual knows for sure what works for them.

Excellent!

For me? I do a kickboxing workout 5 days a week. It is all over conditioning. I do not eat a lot of sugar and I log my food/count calories. It has not been easy but I am losing my belly fat. I am 54. If I can do it, you certainly can. Don't fall for gimmicks. Total waste of $.

I was always told...and I have had several different personal trainers over the years...to have protein within a 1/2 hour after working out with weights. Reason being and this is from those trainers...that when you lift weights, if doing it properly, your muscle fibers tear. So having protein after, fills those muscle…

I'd like to add one thing. You cannot spot reduce but you can firm up and that will give the appearance of a tighter stomach. Overall conditioning is the way to go.

I can only tell you what has been working for me...I am 54. I too was struggling in this area, big time. About 3 months ago I started adding more protein and doing a very hard sweaty workout. Kickboxing. We do lots of sit-ups and pushups too. My stomach is going away and I can see abs. I haven't seen them since my 30's.…

Hi there, I just turned 54. Is it harder to lose weight? Yes, but it can be done. I do a 5 day a week 30 minute kick box workout which is so fun. I log my food on here. WE will never be what we were in out 20's, but we can still be in great shape. Focus on being healthy and happy and it will all fall into place. We can all…

OK, thank you all. You have all been very helpful!

No, I am not looking to validate starving myself. I am merely saying that I am having a difficult time reaching my goal weight as no matter what I seem to do, I stay around the same weight day in and day out. Do I use a food scale? No i do not, and when I have, just to see if I am on track, I find that my portions are…
-
Thank you all very much. Food scale it is! I don't usually use one but I have one. Funny thing, I weighed my cooked turkey last night...turned out I was going to eat too little. I am trying to eye things based on what I have learned...ie: serving of chicken is palm of my hand, vegetables a fist, etc...
-
I get that, as I said, short of starving myself which I have not done. I just mean eating well, logging calories and exercising. I just cannot seem to get past a certain weight.
-
Get outside and walk. The sun and fresh air will lighten your mood and the walk will help shed some pounds if you are eating right. You can do this! Be a success story!
-
I agree!

Once I quit drinking, it took a few months to really see the difference. Alcohol, long term use, like me, takes a toll on your body in many ways and it takes a while for your body to regulate itself again. Just give it time. Good for you and best of luck.
