  • I've eaten this several times and it is a great way to have pizza without blowing your calorie (and carb) count!
  • I got one for Valentine's Day (haha, I know, but it is what I asked for!) I personally love it. It not only keeps me accountable to get up and move, but I think of it as a reminder. Even though my exercise mostly comes from weightlifting, which it isn't that accurate in calculating, I am still very glad I have it and have…
  • I started lifting in March and have dropped 10 pounds since then. I've been eating at a 500 cal deficit, which means I haven't gained a ton of muscles, though I am going up in my lifts because I was a total beginner. Despite the fact that I'm 10-15 pounds heavier than my smallest weight, I'm back in the same clothes I used…
  • Great job! I'm just about at my goal weight and look forward to seeing how my body will change as I continue to lift.
  • Great progress! My journey also started in January and I lost about 20 pounds in six months!
  • WOW! What amazing results so far! Nice job.
  • Took me six months of heavy lifting 4 x week and eating at a 500 cal deficit, but I'm at my original goal weight. And after two kids and 15 years, I fit into my high school prom dress!
  • Yikes, that is awful. I would definitely switch gyms, if that is an option. You know who first told me that women needed to lift weights? An aerobic instructor! We were in the middle of a class and she said, "You know ladies, this will help you lose weight, but if you want to really firm up, y'all are going to have to…
  • Awesome job. Very inspiring! I have been lifting heavy since March and holy cow what a difference!
  • I also use jefit. The Stronglifts app is pretty good, but obviously only if you are strictly using that program.
  • I workout at my local YMCA, of which I serve on the Board of Directors. So before and after my workout, I'm friendly, social, etc. BUT, while I am working out, I put on my ***** face and get the work done. I completely zone out to others around me. If someone thinks I'm rude, so be it.
  • Congrats! that's an incredible achievement, and extra meaningful as you were able to finish with your son. I'm sure he's so proud of you!
  • Congrats! That's tough with so many little ones at home.
  • Yes, my weight did the same thing. Drove me crazy until I could see the pattern over time. I started a bit lower than you are now, but am pretty close to my goal weight. The closer you get to your goal, the slower the weight comes off.
  • My go-to weeknight meal is blackened tilapia. I buy the individually packaged frozen fillets so I can thaw them as needed. I put a tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet, sprinkle blackening seasoning on each side of the fillet and cook for about 5 minutes on each side on medium heat. Tilapia is a very mild white fish.
  • This exactly. I've been lifting for four months and still rarely need a spotter (usually just bench press). And my daily aim for macros is 45/30/25 with at least 100 g of protein. I eat at a 500 calorie deficit, but will gradually move to maintenance soon.
  • I've not specifically used the couch-to-5k app, but I do have a Fitbit One. As long as you have the FB linked to your MFP account, you don't need to manually add anything. It will calculate your steps and give you any negative calories, as applicable.
  • Honestly, I realize that my lifts won't really see progress until I up my calories. I'm eating at around a 500 deficit right now (1700/day). I think at the end of swimsuit season I will slowly start upping 100 cal/week until I get to maintenance and really go hard on the lifting. I've read Rippetoe's SS and have considered…
  • Dang girl! Impressive! I've been squatting since March and can only barely get 95 lbs. I've also got two kids.
  • I cut back to just weekends a few months ago and it really helped! But I'm good with joining the group, as I need the reminder not to grab a glass after a crappy day at work (or putting the kids to bed).
  • I agree with nicca_jb, the FitBit seemed to provide the extra motivation that I needed. I got mine in February have lost almost 20 pounds. Even though my workouts are primarily weightlifting, which isn't something the FitBit is very useful for, I work a desk job and checking my step count is a constant reminder to get up…
  • I decided at the first of the year I needed to lose about 20 pounds, Since January I have almost purely stuck with weight lifting (3-4 times per week). I'm also eating at about a 500 calorie deficit (1700 calories/day) and have lost weight and toned up better than I expected! I've lost weight with cardio in the past, but I…
  • Congratulations! You have improved your life and your future in so many wonderful ways. Good luck to you!
  • Wow! That's an awesome deal! I already have a fitbit and love it, but I'll send this on to a couple friends who are interested in getting one.
  • I have come to realize my goal is physique. I try to kid myself into thinking it is strength, but I'll admit I get a lot more excited about dropping an inch on my waist that upping my lifts. I've hit the point where my newbie gains have stalled, and realizing that I'll probably need to up my calorie intake to up my lifts,…
  • I'll share! I have two young children and was steadily gaining weight after my youngest weaned. At the beginning of this year I was fed up and decided to make a lifestyle change. I've learned so much from this community over the past six months and have been lifting heavy(ish) 4 times a week since March. I eat at a small…
  • I generally feel better after a workout even if I was sore at the beginning. With that being said, most 5x5 lifting programs are pretty intense and it might be asking a bit much of your body to pair that with a new running program, especially if it is aggressive. I lift heavy (for me) 4 times per week and do very little…
  • That's awesome. Congrats!
