  • I have knee and back issues, the best way for me to get exercise is in the pool. It takes the weight off my joints and provides resistance. I alternate between swimming laps, water jogging and using water weights.
  • I got through most of the checklist at the end of 2019 then the pandemic happened and I missed my deadline. Now I'm starting the process all over again. As a matter of fact, I have my consultation later today. This time around I am making sure my brain is straight. Last time I was going through the motions, but I was still…
  • Me too! Good luck! B)
  • My boyfriend and I meal Prep for the week on Sundays. We cook up several things and portion them off into separate containers then put them all in the freezer. That way we can each just grab one to take for lunch and one for dinner when we get home. No excuse to go out to eat or get fast food/take-away when you can have a…
  • Well, looks like I missed a few posts here, but not as much as in the beginning. Isn't it weird how hard it is to just keep going? Sometimes when I'm swimming in the morning, which I can barely be bothered with logging anymore, I just hum Dorrie's line from Finding Nemo, "just keep swimming" over & over to my myself. I…
  • Well things have been quiet in here the past few weeks. I've been swamped at work, battled a terrible cold this weekend that had me completely bedridden. Starting to feel better now, thankfully. Had to go on Prednisone though and it's notorious for causing weight gain. :/ I'm just going to try & keep the calories low & the…
  • Monday again. Gained the last 2 weeks. :s At least I started out this week well, so far. Slightly less stressful at work today... hopefully will stay that way for the rest of the week! I'm guessing that summer activities have kept everyone away from the site, but that you're all doing well with your journeys.
  • This has been such a quiet week in here! I was killed at work all week, but it's about to end (thank God!!). I'll see all of you lovely ladies next week
  • Being killed by allergies this week. Doesn't help that one of my co-workers clearly feels she has to shower in cheap perfume before she comes to work. It stinks when your labored breathing has nothing to do with your workout, but more to do with a stuffed up nose. :/

  • Super proud of you! Get help if you need it!
  • Megan, you hanging in there is the best thing. It's so tough to lose a loved one and an easy comfort is to run away & hide. When I lost my dad suddenly I dropped off MFP for a year and a half & gained back all the weight I had lost plus some. I wish I had at least stuck around for the support I received here, even if I was…
  • Hi Susan, welcome to MFP. Great job on the walk! Take it one day at a time!
  • Yes, cheese is the best. I still put in on a lot of stuff, I just budget calories for it. Being from Wisconsin there's practically a law that you have to put cheese on everything. I just go for the stronger flavors & better quality cheeses so I don't need much. A tablespoon of gorgonzola goes a long way. As does a 1/4c. of…
  • Like my mom used to say, "if life were fair the cancer ward at Children's would be empty". Now that I think about that as an adult, that's a pretty fracked up thing to say to a kid. No wonder I'm such a gloomy gal.
  • I've never heard of this before, so I had to Google. Yikes! This sounds scary!
  • Happy birthday, ladies! Hope your days were excellent!
  • Good luck! :)
  • Finally!! A post that explains the difference between BMR & TDEE that makes sense!! I love this! I'm going in for measurements next week, so I'm curious to find out what my TDEE is since I've been going off of BMR & as the calories drop I'm finding myself a bit hungrier, so I've been having to up the workouts so I can have…
  • Yep, mini goals. 5lbs in a month or 5 weeks or whatever. Also, take 2 mason jars put a marble for each pound you want to lose in one jar & put a marble for each pound you've lost in the other. It's kind of fun looking forward to moving the marble over each week & you get a great visual of how many you've lost. And even…
  • I am so sorry for your loss. It sounds so hollow when you lose someone, especially one so young. Please take care of you! Prayers to you & your family in this sorrowful time. :'(
  • That sounds fabulous, Liz.
  • Cindy: I hope everything works out well for you & prayers to you & your family!! I hope everyone has a great weekend. It's going to be a hot one here in WI so I plan on spending as much time in the pool as I can! I'd love to get a little weeding done in my yard, but I have to be honest, when the temp gets above 80 degrees…
  • Please, stop hating yourself so much!! I know, it's easier said than done, but truly unless you're a child molester or an ax murderer there's no reason for so much hate! Maybe you're not happy with the way you look, but really, other than the Kardashians, who is? Everyone wants to be a little thinner, a little more toned,…
  • Yep, building healthy habits. I think that works pretty well for me. I am a creature of habit & the longer I do something the easier it becomes.
