  • I agree with the above 2 ladies: an ecig has been my way out. I'm still using it, but I truly believe it is not nearly has harmful as an actual cigarette. I'm also using it less and less as time goes on. Good luck!
  • After writing the above, I see a few entries with positive outcomes. Thanks for sharing those!
  • Thanks everyone. It seems my fears about the repair may be well founded. For now, I guess I will stick with the rehab exercises and stay away from jogging. :-( Maybe it's time for me to try swimming.
  • So far, I have lost 28 lbs to help with the pressure on my knee. I still have much more to lose, of course, but am feeling hindered with physical activity at this point. My knee has actually been hurting more lately then it ever did, so I may be over doing it. Also, one of my trainers is also a physical therapist and has…
  • Usually frozen veggies are fine, but you have to look out for the sodium. If it has any kind of sauce on it, basically that means 'loaded with sodium'. Better to get the 'fresh' frozen, meaning just frozen veggies, no sauce included.
  • Thanks!
  • I usually make myself a protein smoothie. It consists, roughly, of 1 cup of strawberries (or whatever fruit or fruit combo you like), half a cup of ice, quarter cup of milk, and a scoop of pure protein vanilla. You can try whatever protein powder you like, of course. Put it all together in a blender or magic bullet,…
  • I haven't even come close to reaching my goal weight yet, but this statement sums it up for me.
  • Let her read your post. Maybe she won't listen to you if you sit her down, but maybe her reading what you wrote in a question for help will get it thru to her. I know that would be easier said then done, but maybe you could even let her read it and tell her it's someone else, not you, see what she says.
  • Happy Friday! I have a strength session with my trainer today and I can't wait; it's my favorite session of the week. I started lifting maybe 6 months ago, with a couple of breaks during that time (fell off the wagon a little). Below is what I remember starting with and what I do now: Shoulder row: 45/95 Bench Press:…
  • No, actually when I stand up, I have a tendency to roll them backwards if I haven't kept my shoulder blades together during the lift. I know, terrible. I'm working on it. :-/
  • My trainer points out that I have a tendency to roll my shoulders when I stand up. This is very very bad for your rotator cuff, so avoid that at all costs!
  • I have a very similar issue. I see myself as much more physically fit then my reflection shows. I've been going to the gym for about a year now. When I started, I literally couldn't do 5 minutes on the elliptical. Now, I can do 60 min no problem on level 19. Plus, I'm now deadlifting 165 lbs! Super proud of myself for the…
  • Congrats! Pushups are a goal of mine! Go you!
  • There is a great book that will help. 'The Easy Way to Quit Smoking' by Allan Carr. He doesn't talk about the normal health and financial reasons to quit smoking. He makes you think about quitting in a different way. It's worth reading it. Good luck!
  • Thanks for the tip on the smartphone app, I'll check it out!!
  • Hey there, I am certainly not a therapist, but it sounds like you are in a low place right now in life. It sounds like you feel you have a mountain to climb and are overwhelmed by where to start. I think that maybe there are many other people out there who feel the same, so do not feel like you are alone. Maybe you can…
  • Believe it or not, but Wal-Mart has a good selection. Right now I am in between all the sizes of jeans I currently have at home and have been searching for new jeans. I've been going to all the expensive stores like Lane Bryant, but have not been able to find anything. On a whim, while at Wal-Mart the other day, I started…
  • Hate away; it's my opinion :-)
  • For me the Fitbit has turned out to be a disappointment and hinderance. It always gave me so many extra calories based on my activity therefore putting me into maintenance mode with my calories. I was dropping weight pretty regularly before getting the fitbit and linking it to my MFP account, but have really slowed down…
  • I agree with this statement. A year ago, you couldn't pay me enough to go to a gym. Now, if I miss two days in a row, everything just feels wrong.
  • I always have a Cliff Organic Oats protein bar for breakfast. They are yummy! My fav is the chocolate chip :-)
  • I don't like white milk either so I add sugar free chocolate syrup to it when I want to have a glass. It's only 15 calroies for 2 TBS, which is plenty. Then there's no worries about blood either :-)
  • I agree with this post. There is no way you will be able to maintain, or even want, to get this worried or stressed out over every single holiday for the rest of your life. This holiday is about being together with family and appreciating what you have. If you go astray on calories for a couple of meals, it will not be the…
  • Hi, I am no expert on addiction, but maybe you should attend an AA meeting or confide in someone close to you. Whatever you do, don't try to go it alone. Please get the help you need; there is no shame in asking for it :-) Sooze
  • I usually need a min of 3-4 hours before I can even think of trying to sleep after a workout, so you're not alone :-) I workout in the evening as well. If I get home at 8:30, then I go to bed around midnight and it still takes me some time to get to sleep, but this has always been an inssue with me; working out just makes…
  • I always go for flavored vodka, usually blueberry by Sminoff or Stoli, and water. 69 calories. Tip: Pinnacle vodka is 104 calories per oz!
  • I usually drink a flavored vodka (smirnoff & stoli are low in calories; 69 per oz) and water. 69 calories per drink and I only need 2 or 3 and that's enough for me.
  • I just checked out Best Buy online and they seem to have them in the store. I know where I'll be going today :-)
