If this is what I think it is, I found it in the "Eat more Weigh Less" books( I don't remember who the author is). By eating lots of one type of food you start to turn your body into a fat furnace. Effective.

I'm not sure about an actual suppressant, but I try to choose foods by how much fiber compared to calorie is in them. If an item doesn't have enough fiber in it, it is not a part of my diet (except as a treat). The reason being, is that foods rich in fiber make you feel fuller longer, thus curbing your appetite.
