  • Aha! the dreaded water...Before August 2013, i only rarely drank just water. I drank boat loads of coffee and coke (there is water in there!) I cold turkey dropped the soda's and started drinking my coffee black. Started adding water, slowly, but now I drink water, and black coffee, sometimes a herbal tea. I sometimes…
  • Start weight: 162 Weigh In #2: 159 A little surprised I actually had a loss, haven't been exercising like I should. My back is finally feeling like I can work it a bit and just got an elliptical trainer and set up an area to do that and some weight lifting. Will see what that does to me over the next two weeks lol.
  • I've also used the coffee filters to remove some of the fat, and fridge/freezer for the rest. But I usually use the 'leavings' of the chicken for the broth, skin on since I am going to skim the fat later, and add in bits of veggies for added flavor. I try to keep a baggie in freezer to put celery/carrot ends, onion skins…
  • I am a few hairs shy of 5'9", and on my last 20-25lbs to go. They are not coming off as easily as the first 40lbs did, but since joining this site I see that the way I lost those pounds was probably not exactly the best way. I've adjusted my calorie intake and trying to up my protein, not over what is recommended but I…
  • The non-stick spray has really been bugging me, will start adding calories for its use for sure. Recently bought gummy vitamins (allergy throat a bit swollen, didn't want to have to swallow horse pills lol) anywho, 20 calories per day of vitamins <---should of read label at store, I read labels of every other 'food' item I…
  • Before I started seriously getting my weight/health under control I would consider a binge a day I would just eat/drink whatever with no care of what I was consuming. Now I would consider a binge- eating at a "maintaining" caloric intake for my current weight.
  • Hitting 200 on the scale was it for me. ( I know that isn't a whole lot but knowing at one point my mother was near 400lbs, it was an eye opener for me and I was afraid of gaining even more through the years.) I knew I had gained weight a little here and there, over the past 10 years, but kind of put it out of mind, rarely…
  • Why not go for body paint with a lovely note of how you'd like to paint a bra on her? She might go for that as its unique and would make her feel special!
  • Yep, I seem to noticeably lose from the knees down and elbows down first, then bits here and there. Tummy always last, though that's the first place to notice it going on too. Some of it is perception, even a half inch off a calve is more noticeable than a half inch off a tummy.
  • 44 here. Just joined site last week as I needed a better way to track intake. Started losing on my own August 2013 at 200lbs, down to 160 now, still have 20ish to go. Mainly have been watching intake and I lowered carbs. Still need to up exercise but that is harder to accomplish as I have lower back pain. I try to get in…
  • I do weekly weigh ins, Monday mornings. Picking Monday for weigh in mentally helps me behave over the weekend, which are hard days for me to keep from over doing it. I also measure on Monday mornings. But I also measure other times during the week too. The tape measure really helps me from over doing it more so than the…
  • I find myself in a similar boat, lost 38 lbs in about 3.5 months and now just maintaining. I know I have to make more adjustments. But I do remind myself that the 60-some pounds I started out needing to lose didn't get there overnight or even a few months, they crept up on me over about 10 years. So if it takes me a year…
  • Yes! I started my weight loss journey in September, did well for a few months but as soon as the colder weather hit my weight loss seems to have stalled out. I tend to spend way more time indoors and wanting nothing more than to curl up with books and crave heavy foods like stews etc. I haven't given in to the cravings and…
  • I just joined as well and would like some help staying motivated. Anyone can add me also.
  • Hi all, I prefer to go by Sethra online. I just join myfitnesspal this evening. I am a 44yo married woman. I am a sahm as we homeschool our two sons. I started my healthier lifestyle on Sept 1st, 2013 when my evil scale screamed 200 lbs at me. I have just slowly accumulated extra weight over the years but that number lit a…
