I have Hashi's, so maybe not exactly the same but I have all those same symptoms. :) It came on suddenly after my daughter was born and when I went into the doctor to finally get checked (I had no idea what was wrong but I felt like I was dying), my TSH was over 125. Anyway, through medication (levo 88mcg), healthy diet…

The only thing you can really do is pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep after it. It sounds like you know where you went wrong (with your nutrition), so focus on tightening up your diet and you will see results. Minor fluctuations in your weight will be common, so I'd say don't let it trip you up. Just go harder…

Hey lady! I am a 24-year-old mom of an amazing 3-year-old daughter. For me, MFP has been a huge help in reaching and then maintaining my goal weight. But my daughter has become the best reason for me to STAY active and healthy. My hope is that I can model to her a healthy appreciation for my body that isn't based on…

Ok, I didn't read all the replies so maybe someone already mentioned this. But you can try weaning yourself off high-sugar yogurt by mixing it in with your greek yogurt and gradually changing the ratio. It will give your taste buds time to adjust. Better in my opinion than trying to choke something down that you find…

Snooki. How am I the first person to say this? She should be #1 on the list.

I have trouble with this, too. Here are some foods that I have found are higher in protein: Dairy (milk or yogurt, especially greek yogurt- try Chobani, it has 23g of protein per serving) Fish (tuna, tilapia, pollock, sole are all cheap and you can throw them on top of a salad for lunch) Nuts Quinoa Turkey Bacon (certain…

Don't give up. I struggled with thyroid issues after my daughter was born, and it took me almost two full years to get it working properly. During that time, exercise was tough because of pain and fatigue. Controlling my diet was tough because of extreme carbohydrate cravings (something that happens with severe…

Spinach is a great one, and you can use it in a lot of different ways: inside an omelette with cheese and onions, in a salad (instead of iceberg or red leaf lettuce, you can use spinach to boost up the nutritional value), or sauteed with a little bit of bacon and garlic and tossed with some couscous. You can also blend it…

If you know you are going out to eat, you can look up the nutrition information for the restaurant before you go. That way you know what you are eating and can set aside the calories you need to eat it. Another thing you can do is work out. If you find yourself having just blown your calorie goal for the day, hit the gym…

I'm not 100% there yet, but getting much closer, and I believe you can do it. Eat at a deficit, combine cardio and serious strength training, and lose your weight at a reasonable pace. It will happen. But it will be tough.

I eat a light snack EVERY night within an hour of my bedtime and have lost pretty much everything I wanted to lose. A friend of mine (fitness competitor) told me that it's best to eat protein-rich snacks before bed. Carbs will cause a spike and subsequent crash in your blood sugar while you are sleeping and you'll wake up…

Quinoa is a great idea... I have done oatmeal and eggs (or an omelet) for breakfast which is not too bad. The thing that was getting me was breakfast cereal. I have eaten Special K red berries every morning for the last three years- I just realized it has 9g of sugar in it! I also often eat Fresh Express Salad Kits for…

I lost 30lbs on WW in 2008 and have been a lifetime member there ever since (although I did have to re-lose 40lbs after my daughter was born, I also did that with the help of WW). I felt like I learned some great healthy habits through using the program, but it's not as comprehensive as what you can do using the MFP online…

Mostly for me. But... a small part of me is hoping to someday look better than my little sister. She once introduced me to someone by saying "This is my sister. See, she looks just like me but fatter!"

Try mixing up your normal routine... exercise more or do different things when you do exercise, or eat different foods. Sometimes getting stuck in a rut can make you plateau. Another suggestion (something that worked for me) is to take some time off and just maintain current weight when that last 5-10 is really hard. In a…

2-3 times a day? Do you mean a week?
