  • I JUST checked out a cookbook from the library that had a recipe for making brownies with black beans. It's actually a diet cookbook so it uses things like egg substitutes and stevia sugar and lowfat sour cream. One brownie is 58 calories! I have yet to try them but plan to. My husband is alreay thinking negatively about…
  • I refuse to weight myself before my TOM. And if I'm good for the week of it, by the time it's over I can surprise myself with an even nicer weight loss.... If I'm good during it of course but that's when I crave more foods.
  • I got frustrated last Friday. I did EVERYTHING good for the week, diet, exerise (including eating back my exercise calories) and the scale didn't budge even a half pound. So I had a bad, bad day yesterday and ate lots of bread and brownies! I guess you just have to keep at it and not get discouraged over the weight…
  • Thanks for the input. Is there a substitute besides squats I could do along with the program? I'm pretty active right now with our YMCA so am not a newbie to exercise. Although I do low impact stuff like the spinner bike and elliptical at the Y.
  • Thanks, I just did that. Now.... if anyone wants to see how BADLY I did yesterday, go for it! It was one of those days when I looked in the cupboard multiple times, the fridge multiple times, and the pantry multiple times (not to mention where I hide my chocolates!). But I'm back on track today!
  • Relatively new here. How do you make your diary public?
  • Dannon light and Fit vanilla yogurt with canned peaches.... peaches n cream...mmmmmmmm
  • I weigh myself every four days. If I've been good with my diet, I can lose 1/2 pound in four days. If I weigh too frequently I might not see a weight loss at all.
  • Thanks. I probably would have stared in the "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" section until they kicked me out of the store. In your opinion, do you think applesauce or apple butter would be better on a pancake?

  • I've never had apple butter. Where is it in the supermarket and does it have any nutritional value?

  • Thanks for all your input. Maybe his eye rolling this morning was just a little too much. It would be nice to just eat healthy what he makes instead of having to count the calories. Plus I think the closer I get to my goal, the harder I work at it. I'm afraid of gaining a pound that I've lost.
  • We usually eat at home, and this a.m. I did plan out tonight's dinner, but I get this "attitude" because I have to come to the computer to plan my day then.
  • Using your cellphone as a tool for logging workouts is different than chatting up a conversation for a half hour. Some people listen to music on their phones, also different than carrying on a conversation.
  • Seriously, if someone can't be without their phone for 30+ minutes while exercising, they have a problem. That's what voicemail is for. I'm from the "older" generation so did not grow up with cell phones but there needs to be an etiquite sheet handed out with each purchase, such as no talking when at a checkout counter in…
  • I'm 5'6 and my goal is 121 pounds (8 left to go). According to your weight goal you still want to lose about 6 more pounds? If your body is anything like mine, that is on the thin side. One time I was at our YMCA when I had lost lower than 121 pounds (not on purpose) and when I was showering after a workout a friend…
  • If I put in what I WANT to eat for the day, I can use the computer's calorie count to keep me close to my goal. Otherwise I might eat too many calories for lunch and can only squeeze in less than 200 calories at dinner, making me too hunger for the rest of the evening. This way I can budget calories for breakfast, snacks,…
  • The 1200 calorie goal is if you did no exercise at all. You can eat 1200 calories without exercising and lose weight. If you exercise, you can have more calories as long as you don't go over the calorie count you exercised off. Typically, if you don't eat back at least some of your exercise calorie, you might put your body…
  • When I cook (which is infrequently) I do put my ingredients in the recipes for a later meal selection. But when my husband cooks (most of the time) I don't pay attention to what he is doing.
  • Wow, I just typed in burrito and there were some recipes that were very similar to what my husband will be serving. Makes it so much easier than adding in each ingredient. I suppose I'm being anal if their ingredients are 50 calories different than my husbands. It's in the ballpark.
  • So far it's unanimous. I will log in each ingredient.... grrrr. I know I am over my limit then. It would have been nice if someone said "put in 290 cals". That would have made me at my goal cal count. hahaha I really did a larger calorie lunch so it makes dinner hard to stay under now.
  • I heard it was better to have a very small snack before. The analogy was you wouldn't get very far on an empty tank of gas in a car, so your body needs a little fuel too, just small though.
