  • Thank you so much everyone!!! I appreciate all of the support. It was definitely a lot of hard work and I'm super proud and thankful for where I'm at now :)
  • I'm almost 5'7 :)
  • I'm on here daily, so very active on here! I've lost 103 pounds so far, with 29 to go. Feel free to add me :)
  • The Outsider by A Perfect Circle :)
  • I'm honestly disgusted by how many people are just being plain rude about this subject. I had gastric bypass done this March and I'm down almost 80 pounds (17 of it before surgery). It seems all the rude people don't think about the fact of ---"Hey, what if I can't do it by myself because of [insert disease]". I just wish…
  • Amazing!!! Congrats to you! I know you have to feel 500 times better now. I'm down 69 pounds so far, my goal is also 160...will be down 122 pounds once I get there.
  • Feel free to add me!! I'm down 65 pounds with 57 more pounds to go! :)
  • Thanks everyone!!! I really am loving the newer me :)
  • sharmanhollen, you were not even 2 weeks out when you posted your comment--how is it going now? The first 2 weeks can go either way with anyone. You could lose weight rapidly in the first week (I lost 7 pounds or so I think), or you can gain weight from air still being in your stomach from surgery. I had mine just 2 weeks…
  • Thanks!!! :)
  • I'm late on this as well, but I'm in too!! I'll finally use my pedometer! Lol :)
  • A lot of things have changed since you had it schpanks, it's improved greatly with technology..that was 12 years ago. And I have to take the calcium citrate, Vitamin D, B12, & Iron. Also Vitamin C but only if it's low. My hospital was fantastic as well as the weight loss center. There were so many meetings and appointments…
  • So true!!!! You do have to take vitamins for life after surgery. I have had difficulties with this but I'm getting passed it. And I use MFP every day to log my food--the easiest way to keep track of your protein intake & carbs! And I hate when people say it's the easy way out---it definitely isn't. We're really working as…
  • I just had gastric bypass surgery on March 10th this year. It depends on your insurance company if you have to do the 6 month diet program before surgery, it's mainly to see if you can lose a decent amount on your own in that time. If you lose like 40-50 pounds in that time, then they'll turn you down. I started my journey…
  • Hi! My name is April. I live in Kentucky. I had the gastric bypass done on March 10th this year. I'm down 40 pounds since the surgery & 57 pounds total. I've been doing really great with everything after surgery. I feel more confident than before, and it's taken me a while to see the difference in the mirror but I'm seeing…
  • Feel free to add me! I'm on here daily :)
  • Body Fortress is really good -- they have quite a few different flavors. It's 30g of protein for one scoop in 8 oz of water. I also have been drinking Premier Protein (already mixed), it's 11 oz & 30g of protein for each one. Between the 2 I'd say the Premier Protein tastes the best.
  • I know that, I was just saying that was the minimum for any adult. Sorry for any confusion.
  • I have to say I don't agree with you at all. I've felt great since my surgery. I've heard about people having a really bad time with it and it depends on how long ago they had it. Even if it was just 6 years ago or so---they've seriously improved since then! Technology is making things easier with doing surgeries. I know…
  • I agree with keeping a bottle with you 24/7----try to sip it as much as you can instead of big gulps as well. It really helps.
  • You're actually supposed to have half your bodyweight in protein each day. 60-80g of protein minimum.
  • I just had gastric bypass done on March 10th and doing really great with it. And tekwriter - that's what the pre-op stuff is for - to learn portion control and what you're supposed to eat, meeting with nutritionists and exercise specialists to make sure that you are ready by the time the surgery comes around. I was scared…
  • Hi! My name is April. I just had the RNY done on Monday March 10th 2014. I'm doing great so far. I've dropped 6 pounds since Monday. Getting plenty of protein and liquids in. My heaviest weight is 282, the scale now says 259. I live in Kentucky. Very excited to see my results in the next few months :)
  • Definitely looking forward to it! I'm needing to lose around 106 pounds. Have already lost 14 pounds for the surgery---they needed me to lose 10-15 pounds so my liver shrinks & is easier to get around. I'm counting down the days! :)
  • I definitely like your kind of humor! Adding you now! :)
  • I'm so glad to find someone that had the RNY done! I'm set to have mine done on March 10th! Just 24 days away! :D I'm definitely going to add you on here and can look out for each other!
  • I do a lot of breakfasts with yogurt and string cheese. If you have a Kroger, their Carbmaster yogurts are the lowest I've found in carbs. And I know it involves eggs but maybe a breakfast bowl? Like eggs, turkey bacon, cheese, etc.
