Your story is very inspiring, thanks so much for sharing! Sometimes I look in the mirror and feel like it's too late to change. Thanks again for reminding me it can be done.

If they are so bad you are curled up with a hot water bottle or have to take days off you could go to a doctor to get checked out. It could be that there is something wrong that is treatable.

Same here... hard to believe I am almost 100 lbs heavier than I was as a freshman in college. I'd like to lose at least 75 lbs.

Hi Hannah! I'm in your same predicament... lost weight last year but the winter has taken me down. I could use some help getting back on track as well!
-
HA! Yep, same here.... pretty annoying!

Someone I hadn't seen in a few weeks noticed right away that I had lost weight. :)

I'm 5'7" as well and started at 232lbs. I'm down to 217.4 lbs now and my goal is 150 lbs. I'm older than you (35) but feel free to add me!

Excellent post! I also find the Athleta catalogs inspiring... healthy and fit models are often shown working out. And they encompass a variety of body types like you said. And you are so right - you have to try to be the best you can be based on your own body type. Off to measure my wrists now. ;)

I think that being too strict and never allowing yourself any of the foods (in moderation, which is what a once a week cheat meal would qualify as) that you crave is what will set someone up to fail. Agreed that it should be a lifestyle change but you're also only human.

It sounds like he is suffering from depression and that needs to be addressed first.

Congratulations! Wonderful progress and glad it seems easier now - that's a good sign that the changes you've made will be permanent!

I walk to and from work and also do a lot of walking while at work. I'm averaging around 14,000 steps a day right now. I've been losing an average of 1.5 lbs a week by combining the walking with calorie counting.

Wow... at my lightest I was about your weight and I am exactly your height. My sister struggled with an eating disorder for years and never felt she was thin enough during that time. As others have said you have a distorted view of yourself. I am sorry that you are struggling with this... the negative self talk is so…

I agree 100%!

nothing wrong with posting a link

I use either a dressing that comes in a spray bottle so you get the flavor without using too much or I also like to use a teaspoon of organic apple cider vinegar.

It varies from person to person - my sister for instance never puts weight on her stomach whereas for me it is the very last place that I lose from.

too funny! and so true for me... grr!

Gummy worms!

Incredible transformation and very inspiring! We have similar starting weights and goal weights and this is really good motivation to see your success. Congratulations!

I am getting a puppy this summer! I'm sure she will help me meet my daily fitbit goals with more steps on the ol' pedometer.

I buy a raspberry chipotle marinade at Whole Foods that I use on salmon. I pour it over the salmon, which is placed on a piece of foil on a cookie sheet then bake it at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. I serve it with fresh raspberries, asparagus, and baked sweet potatoes or those microwaveable mini potatoes from Trader…

yep - where there is money there is corruption.

I was just thinking the same thing - the sales have been hit by all of the negative press about the dangers of diet soda and this is an attempt to stop the bleeding so to speak. That being said, I do drink diet soda but try to limit it to one a day. I do find that it fills a craving and also makes me feel more full. I…

Sorry it brought up a painful memory. :( It's comforting to know that other people have dealt with the same stuff, but probably not good to dwell on it too much.

And I was at my all time lowest weight (due to extreme stress that led to me not eating) when I was with my college boyfriend and I still wasn't "hot" in his eyes - he actually told me that... after mentioning how hot his high school gf was.

Without regard to somebody else's feeling - exactly. My college boyfriend also told me something similar - and a few guys since. Gotta wonder why they feel the need to do that and how they can possibly think it will go over well. No woman wants to feel like she's being settled for.
