i'm 26 and have a 3 year old son, still trying to lose the baby weight...this time i am more determined to make a lifelong commitment to a healthier/more active lifestyle and NOT to just look for numbers on the scale! always looking for more mom friends so feel free to add me :)

I have a son who is now 3, I have tried working out with him since he could move and I have to tell you some kids cooperate and some (like mine) do not. He would launch himself on me and body slam me when I did anything on the ground and when I was standing he would ask to be carried or try to drag me to another room! The…

thank you so much to everyone for your help! i think i will reduce my goal to 1/2lb per week and try switching things i eat now to lower cal/carb options like getting yogurt and keeping frozen berries in the house to mix into it! i just used to the same yogurt my son ate before but i think i will buy us different kinds for…

thank you! that helps a lot, actually my goal for weight loss was 1 lb a week though, so i am not sure what i can change to get more calories allowed???

i try to map out my whole day after breakfast so i know how many calories i have for each meal, if you go over you go over, you have to still eat today you can't just stop eating because it's only 1:37pm and you went over your goal for the day! i think we all have days where we slip off the calorie goal, just make healthy…

this is going to sound weird but deodorant will help stop it if you dont have baby powder lying around and feel like using something you already have around the house

how do i open my food diary?

i have oatmeal for breakfast a lot and carrots for snacks....i can have oatmeal every day for breakfast instead of just some days a week and see if that helps, thanks

Cooking for 1 is definitely a bit tricky, as it is so much easier to grab something on the go than work hard at a meal that you are going to either eat for 5 days straight or throw most of it away. BUT there are solutions...like I keep hardboiled eggs in the fridge at all times so if i want a snack or an easy quick thing i…

I have a BIG sweet tooth and i totally understand the people who compare having a 100 cal package to a gateway drug but i also think if you have asweet tooth like mine and you don't satisfy it at all you are bound to kinda fall off the wagon at some point and over indulge (at least that's my problem if i cut out sweets all…

I think you have right idea with the whole "screw you" to the scale. Honestly when people say they want to lose weight, I don't think weight is actually the focus, it's size! They want to lose a clothing size or more, not weight, I agree with the others who say you should measure yourself to see results as muscle can take…

I work in an office and sit all day, so I picked the lowest amount of daily exercise, but I do have a big dog (golden/husky cross) and we go for walks every day and now that the weather is nice i take my son on bike ride (again where i walk/jog along side him) every day that it is nice enough outside. and they usually are…

Thank you everyone! That helped a lot :) I ended up grabbing a protein bar thingy, very yummy and filling and didn't ruin my calories for the day :) I think we have a sad gas station, no fruit or sandwich options! And whoever said I should pack a lunch the day before, I usually do or I plan to go home but I had a last…

i don't keep a scale at home...i think i would weigh myself all the time and get frustrated as weight fluctuates so much. i do use the scale at the gym about once a week, it is super accurate.

i've done it! and i'll probably do it again. i get on "kicks" where i go totally healthy and active and then i'll fall off the wagon so to speak (usually staying with the active part) but completely losing my healthy eating and it usually starts by feeling better/looking better and treating myself with something i LOVE to…

I have always been much more of a grazer than a meal eater too! I am trying to make an effort to eat real meals now, but I still snack, I have just tried to make a real effort to change my snacks from more junk food options to carrots, fruits, yogurt, or slightly healthier/lower calorie options. It's quite an adjustment…

i'm 5'6" and starting at 145lbs looking to get back to 130lbs possibly even back to 120lbs (which was my weight before i got pregnant with my son, who just turned 3 years old!) I am thinking 120lbs might be impossible but no matter what my weight if i could successfully lose the love handles/muffin top i would be happy!

i go to the gym for elliptical workout every other day, but the other days i just don't have time, i chase after my 3 year old and walk as much as i can but i don't do any gym or official hard working out on those days but between work and being a mom i just don't have the time to get to the gym for cardio every day. i…

why don't you try exercises focused directly on the abs/stomach and burning fat in those specific areas, i know there are lots of workout videos or classes you can take that focus on specific areas...it's worth a try!
