I'll bet that you never imagined what a can of worms you would open with that question!! I am 54 yrs old, 5'6 and 140 pounds. To lose my goal wt of 1 pound a week, I was allowed 1200 calories a day w/o exercise. I eat my exercise calories back almost all of the time! I am now on maintenance and can have 1570 calories a day…

I lowered my LDL from 177 to 107 by losing weight, watching what I eat and exercising, thus avoiding being put on medication. It was a great feeling when I got the lab results. Congratulations on a huge health victory!

One of my coworkers finally looked at me yesterday and asked if I had lost weight! I think because the weight came off gradually, the people that see me all of the time didn't notice the gradual change.

My job requires that they be covered up, so that's a problem with a tattoo in visible areas. My husband does not like the look of heavily tattooed women, but I do have one that is covered by clothes, and he likes it!

I lowered my LDL by losing 25 pounds, exercising almost every day and watching my diet. My doctor told me that if you have "bad genes", sometimes there is nothing that you can do except take medication. I was happy to prove him wrong in my case!

Great job in losing! I went in June and didn't gain at all because of all of the walking, in spite of the fattening food that I ate!

My friend and I walk at lunch just about every day for 45 minutes. We are lucky enough to have access to a free gym in walking distance, so if it is rainy, no excuse for not exercising! It is nice so that if I have a busy evening, at least I have done something physical for the day!

I like greek yogurt because the protein takes longer to digest so you feel full for a longer time. Almonds are good! If I get hungry, I try to get busy and focus on something else! I live in the Harrisburg area but thankfully not near the river! I see people counting calories for cleaning, etc, so give yourself some credit for that grueling work! Stay safe and dry!
