Congratulations! I'm glad you've found yourself again. I've unwillingly been on the grief diet myself and I think a lot of people will identify with you about that. Thanks for sharing your journey and long may you continue to be the best you can be! :flowerforyou:

In for the 'judging' and the 'bullying'!

This just in, "Don't get too obsessive!" Posted on my NSV post on FB, which seems to be collecting lots of annoying comments. Trying to recall if my formerly skinny fat-to-Adonis male friend had equivalent remarks. Oh no, he didn't.

I have IBS and I only found that out a few years ago because I had a particularly severe attack, ate superhealthily and made things worse. Doctor told me just to eat what I felt like eating, as intervening with the 'right' foods was having a detrimental effect on me. I'm only saying this because someone mentioned senna…

OMG my dear old Dad (sadly departed) did that too, while stuffing his face with ice cream. Then again, he was from the generation that thought fat definitely was a feminist issue. While it didn't upset me, me and my Mum did wonder at his intentions. It wasn't funny the first or 17th time so why he said it pretty much all…

:noway: I don't shock easily but they couldn't just cook you anything else? You're very forgiving - it would've been game over for those friendships. How utterly disrespectful. And this coming from an atheist who eats everything (but if she were less lazy would be a vegetarian).

Is that really the only way? All my friends are alcoholics and since getting fit I have no tolerance for it, or the desire to exercise on a hangover the next day! Also, am in the UK so finding non heavy drinkers may prove impossible.

Those people need to I've made friends here because I can't talk about it on FB without some dufus saying 'I don't think you need to lose weight, you looked fine the other day...' Yes, because the other day I'd already been doing my workout routine for a month, silly! You also haven't seen me without my clothes on - you…

Another good thing about working from home...Having worked in such environments I can totally sympathise with you. I've realised there's no point talking to people about food and/or fitness who haven't done it successfully. They'd be happy with me being average and unfit for the rest of my life. 'I don't think you need to…

I've been doing the gain-a-pound, lose-a-pound dance for a while myself. Also struggling lose the last 7lbs (or is that 8lbs this week...?). Upping the intensity of my kettlebell sessions as of tomorrow so I'll see how that goes. If that doesn't work then I may try adding running and I HATE running. But then again, I hated…

Hello weight loss twin! I'm having exactly[i/] the same experience as you with the scale, and my goal is also 20% BF...

Daily Burn is free for a month, then $10 per month. If you're confident about your form I can highly recommend the kettlebell programme they have. There's a great variety of workouts with awesome teachers and the foam roller recovery videos are worth the subscription fee alone. All the best!

As others have already said, if you're looking for people to agree with you about your decision to take diet pills you're probably on the wrong website. No one has actually called you 'lazy' on the forums (it's interesting you believe that word has been used), so you're just going to have to...

Thank you both! It's my own fault for never sticking with weight bearing exercise long enough for my body to get used to it... Looking forward to getting stronger!

Hi! If you lose weight with no resistance training you'll lose muscle along with the fat. The more muscle you have the more your metabolism is boosted - in turn, burning more fat. The closer you get to your goal weight the harder it'll be to burn the fat without muscle mass. Don't worry about the scales so much - keep a…

I hurt my back years ago, and found the rehabilitative core work of Pilates more beneficial than Yoga. I used to do classes at the physiotherapy clinic. For fitness, how's about swimming?

Thank you! You're not doing too shabbily yourself!

^^^^^ THIS. I also have a problem getting below 130lbs, but then again I was never so bothered about the beer belly to keep working at getting rid of it entirely. I'm now eating at a 300 cal deficit of my TDEE and kettlebelling, after a couple of weeks at 1200 cals plus lots of cardio. It's slow work but the inches are…

^ THIS If you cook your own meals you get to control sodium and sugar levels, and no nasty preservatives! You'll most likely be cooking with fewer calories than the store-bought equivalents, so it's a win all round.
