If you did 5:2 you would average more than 1000 cals per day over the 7 days. Does that answer your (repeated) question?

I've been here a week. Go look at my the diary if you want to see a hot mess of numbers. I think they averaged out though. This is the main reason why I only weigh once a week.

How are you going to maintain that calorie deficit once you're off it? Are you planning to maintain your goal weight? Also, Slim Fast is full of sugar and other such nastiness. Why not work on finding a way of eating that you enjoy (i.e. not about deprivation), is full of nutrients and is sustainable?

I think the worst thing you can do is cut everything you enjoy out of your diet. It just makes you associate 'diet' with 'suffering' and you'll either quit early or put the weight back on after you've lost it. Like others have said, log it!
