Mung bean sprouts are my absolute favourite. It would always be the first plate of banchan to be emptied.
Same here. And I never felt guilty when everyone looked suspiciously at me when the little bowl was empty first.

Dear OP what are your stats? In order to suggest exercise program or work out, like the other poster commented, more information is needed. There are amazing community members that are highly knowledgeable in this field; however, without more information it would be difficult to give you ideas without knowing more about…

To me this article just motivates me to keep going..never stop. Only I can determine if I'm going to be the 5% because there is no "miracle pill" or procedure and nothing is permanent. I'm not offended. I'm now more passionate about the importance of what I am doing. I want to be the 5 percenter!

Not for argument for clarity, it's 5 sprays or 1 gram per serving is "zero" calories as in less than 5. http://www.icantbelieveitsnotbutter.com/product/detail/129811/i-can-t-believe-it-s-not-butter-original-butter-spray

I have both cats and dog One of my cats "talks" (excessively) The other cat jumps on me and kneads me constantly, even when I'm trying to work and blocks my monitor then resolves to lie on my keyboard until I am unable to move my fingers One cat is determined to lick my forehead and hair when I sleep. Sometimes I wake up…

Not accurate because I am not accurate. I lost a lot more than the projected because I didn't log things like vacuuming the whole house, taking the dog on a hike, walking in the mall frantically for two hours looking for a birthday gift in an utter panic, yard work, etc. Again the MFP is a generalization working on the…

Here's a link to the types of banchan and soups my mother makes. http://blog.jagaimo.com/archive/2007/04/23/pulhyanggi-cuisine-of-the-imperial-court-part-2.aspx You can look up Korean Royal Banchan or Imperial Court Banchan to look for recipes. As long as you stay away from the "fried" banchan versions, most are quite…

Whenever I see ketchup I usually replace the ingredient with tomato paste and if need be, some water, but the paste gives much more punch of flavor for me and lowers the sugars. Also when it comes to soy sauce, I like to use Pearl River Super Dark soy sauce. It has 1300mg of sodium per tablespoon, but it's so dense in…

I don't know what a healthy Korean cuisine would be, but I do know when I lived with my parents who, 90% of the time ate traditional Korean food, I was 107lbs at 5'6 and trying to gain weight. Once I moved out went to college then moved to NY I gained tons of weight. TONS. I know that when my mother presents meals it's…

WooHoo for compound lifts!
-
No one who lifts have ever said, "I wished that I would have waited to lift". I had to take into account, I want to lose a bunch of weight...and then ponder..what do I want to look like at that weight? Then realized skinny flabby probably wouldn't be what I want reflected back in the mirror. Although I have a "goal" weight…

Are you accurately calculating your food? Are you burning as much as you think you are? Listen to your body. If you are in a deficit you will lose weight. Physics.
-
No is judging you, they are judging your choices. The reason many, including myself, can make a comment on those choices is because we've all been there. After all that's why we're on this site. I can tell you that once I sincerely started weighing and calculating my food properly, I was both in shock and awe at the amount…

Stretch goals are awesome. I'm not here to judge. I lost 35lbs in about 3 months, 184.5 to 149.5 and still losing. It can be done, but what I've learned is to eat great healthy food and exercise. Good luck!

And I have said the above just not word for word: Unless there is substantial research proving calories coming from spinach vs a Dorito is different, a calorie will be a calorie. Again, as stated before..the added benefits of getting the calories from spinach vs Dorito due to other nutrients of course proves eating spinach…

What I have learned from this thread the "other" one is that there just special calories for special people.
-
At no point did I say that I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt, anything. All things must be considered, one should always entertain ideas even if you disagree when them, that is how science is furthered. That being said, what I DID say is that until there is substantial research proving that a calorie is not a calorie, I am…

In the same documentary," In an interview, Dr. Wang said that for the most part, “if we’re just talking about body weight and obesity, the evidence seems to point in the direction that calories are calories.” Dr. Wang said that studies consistently show that sugary beverages, potato chips and other high-glycemic foods are…

The original start of this was that the OP stated she gained weight eating 1200 calories, of the wrong food. The idea I was trying to convey is a 1 calorie from spinach is the same as 1 calorie from a Dorito, if indeed she ate 1200 and her TDEE is less than 1200, it is impossible unless due to some odd medical condition…

HA I was quoting the same study! It's my favorite.
-
This is one of my favorite studies, there are others, but I think the language in this study is easy to masterate. And no this study is not one of those mercola guy thing. http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/79/5/899S.full I do like that they mention the faulty conclusion of Atwater factors being accurate.

How does a study of liquid calories focusing on nothing but macros relate to difference between Doritos and spinach? It's not a good comparison. Liquid calories of any type to solid food is not a good comparison. That is one of many studies. Nova had a great documentary that aired about this in the past. I just can't…

"I realize that in a lab a calorie is a calorie, but what evidence can you provide that all calories are equal once they enter a human body. Or even that the difference doesn't vary from one human to another?" Some nutritionists have tried to prove that there are greater heat losses (a calorie: measurement of energy needed…

Not bashing, completely understand how the statistics seem to show this. 1. Evolution doesn't work this fast 2. We are taller because of the amount of early childhood nutrients 3. 30 years in the US and even less than 10 years in other countries, trend, is not supported human evolution being the cause. I truly believe it's…
