I agree with Duck_Puddle! A running store is your best bet. I'm an ASICS girl but only because they are perfect for MY feet after years of searching before just going to the experts! Save yourself the hassle ;)

I'm an off and on runner currently on again ;) On week 6 of C25K. Are you doing a training program?

I'm a Tone it Up girl on Week 4 of the Summer Tone Up! I love the energy from these challenges. Today was: 30 minute Ab-focused HIIT workout 20 minute Arm lifting workout 1.5 mile neighborhood walk Tomorrow will be a Yoga-style HIIT workout with a 3 mile run!

I did the Jillian Michaels dvds for a while and they are great staples! Right now, I use the Tone it Up app because I love their challenges (programs) and workouts. There is a yearly or monthly fee. I have also heard good things about Fitnessblender on YT. They are free and have TONS of workouts.

This is very true! It may not work for you but it does help me. I naturally eat on a 10:14 schedule so I gradually moved to a 16:8 eating only between 12pm and 8 pm. There are days (parties, etc) where I don't but for the most part I stick to it. I'm not sure if it's the fasting that works or if it's just the time control…

MREs (the food that soldiers eat) are lightweight and have a ton of calories. When my now-husband, then-boyfriend, first started camping together he said that's what he always took camping and I said no way...that's 4000 calories to sit and fish. This guy (and soldiers) have more of a need for it. :)

You could do a percentage of weight loss, makes it more fair. Good luck!

So glad you were able to do it! I have tried Week 4 twice this week and have not been able to but I am inventing Week 3.5 for those and will try again for Week 4 on Monday! Just in case anyone else is stuck, I say don't give up and just make sure you do better than you did the week before. So what if it takes more than 1…

I agree with the other posters on the socks. It made a world of difference when I invested in runner's socks. I got my adidas climacool socks at Costco, too.

Since it sounds like you want to stay on your own plan until you're comfortable on the C25K, why not try increasing the run by 5-10 seconds and decreasing the walk by 10-20 seconds. Play around with it until you feel challenged but also don't be too scared to go for it. Try a minute on the last one or something. Always pay…

All of my running shorts (which I wear for pretty much every exercise but yoga) have a liner in them and I just don't wear other panties besides. It's how I've always done it so I'm not sure if it is how they were meant to be worn but it is comfy to me!

I don't count coffee as water but I do count my iced green teas as water - no calories and very little caffeine. I say whatever works for you, works for you. I also don't pay much attention to the number of cups of water - I pay more attention to my body, look for signs of dehydration (headaches, "hunger pains" when you…

I agree with most of the posters that it is sodium...but not that it is too much. It is because you ran. (Which is not to say you shouldn't run!!) Every time I run, I gain 2-3 lbs the next day. In fact, I started weighing myself every other day just to catch the days where I don't run. After a run, your muscles are trying…

1 - I've heard that too. Should be very pale yellow but not completely clear I think it depends heavily on the climate. I drink 70ish ounces a day living in Georgia but just last week I visited family in Phoenix and I was drinking 8-10 bottles (16oz) a day! A DAY!! I thought there was something wrong with me until I got…

This is the perfect way to start Wednesday morning!

@Taco Mac Buffalo Blue Burger, Side of Fries, 2 IPAs ...about 1950 calories! Every Thursday for Pint Night!

I actually watch the show. (Let the judgment begin! ) I do find it interesting and somewhat relatable. I do have to remind myself that the weight loss they see is controlled and somewhat skewed due to their practices so I don't get disappointed that my scale doesn't show -6 pounds a week when I work my *kitten*…

It wasn't always that I outright said it, but it normally would enter the conversation somehow. Sometimes it would be other people that would say it. Or like another poster said, it was to stop the offers because I'm going to keep saying no and that was my reason...rather than feeling like I'm better than them. I have come…

NROLFW! Love it.

This. I'm 20 days into the 30 Day Shred and I haven't lost as much as I had hoped the difference is very noticeable in pictures. It helps me from getting discouraged by the number.

We are twins! Except for age but I truly believe age is of no importance unless you are cheese, wine, or brandy! 26yo 5'5.5" SW: 180 CW: 174 GW: 135-140 I figure I'll know when I get there!

But is it any worse than Atkins people trying to get everyone to stop eating carbs? Or people who are all about the protein telling vegetarians or vegans that there is no way they can survive on "so little protein"? Or missionaries or other devout religious folks who tell me I'm damned for whatever reasons they have? (Not…

Jillian Michael's Blast Fat, Boost Metabolism dvd. All body weight, no weights. It's a doozy when you first start it!

I weigh myself everyday but I don't consider it obsessive. On days that I'm heavier it can actually help me with more motivation to eat within my calories and not go over. Plus, I record it in an excel spreadsheet so that I can graph it. The more data you have the better you can see trends and such. (I know, nerd alert.)…

High carb diets can cause belly bloat. For that reason, I go on a "low carb diet" every time before vacation, for a few days I cut wayy back on carbs other than fruits/vegetables. This leads to a flatter stomach at the beach every single time. Talking to mainly guys in this thread, this point is probably lost but it has…

I love this! My BF travels for work M-T so on Fridays after work I cant get in the door fast enough :-) That's a great story!

She's half right...the first franchise is in Utah. I've been there and the side of it says "World's first KFC" or something. The difference is the one in KY is Kentucky Fried Chicken and not KFC. Or something. Edited for grammar

Not to sound like a teenage girl...but whoa. I teared up a little. I can relate to this. My BF travels every week for work. He is gone M-F (sometimes I get lucky and he doesn't leave til Tues!) and every other weekend we have his son from his first marriage. Every other weekend alone just never feels like enough time but…

I want to lighten the mood and point out that you are sitting next to Colonel Sanders?! Maybe it has just been a long day at work...but that makes me laugh!
