Also - I would like to add that 1200 calories a day is really not enough ESPECIALLY if you're not eating back your exercise calories. It's below your BMR, it put your body in stress and reeks havoc with your metabolism. You only get one body, it has to last you a long time...treat it kindly!! :flowerforyou:

^^This is excellent advice! While I understand Mom's concern that you're getting enough calories...the solution to this isn't junk food. It's lot's of healthy nutritious foods. Your nutritionalist or counselor needs to reaffirm this with your family!

No one should feel they need to work out for 3 hours a day for general all around fitness. Most of us don't even have that kind of free time. One hour (give or take a little) done efficiently is all the time you need to get a great work out in.

Honestly, life is too short and there are too few vacations for me to worry about tracking calories during one. That being said, I have been on a cruise before, ate whatever I liked AND lost weight anyway!
-
I think you've allowed yourself to get too fixated on a specific number on the scale. Who decided that was the perfect number for you?!??! And why let it control your life and get you down?!??! You look great and you've accomplished a lot. I get it, you still would like to see some more changes in your body. What you need…

^^^^This!!! But I understood your post. Hubby sounds like he's losing precious muscle mass. He needs to lift weights, eat lot's of protein and make sure he's getting enough calories! Rapid weight loss = loss of muscle, bone along with the fat.

I drink it because it tastes good and I like the caffeine buzz :drinker: It has some minimal health benefits but it's not a miracle elixir.

I can understand your concern...this guy sounds like a major asshat! Where is Mom and Dad in all this? Not that anyone can do much good is this situation. Other than having a man to man, face to face chat with this guy there's not much you can do...your sister is old enough to make her own decisions no matter how poor they…

Sure hope there are some Ron Burgandy fans out there that understood my humor:blushing:

Ah then clearly the answer is those calories didn't count!!!! You stay classy San Diego!!
-
There's no right or wrong here...just preference. For me, I weigh in once a month.....because seeing all those variations and fluctuations daily just messes with my head. Other people like to weigh daily to keep them motivated and on track. That doesn't work for me

Love 30 day shred! If you feel you can do more then go for it! My general rule of thumb for workout time - is more than 30 minutes but less than 60 minutes.
-
I can't answer that until you tell me what time the train left the station and how fast it was traveling:bigsmile:
-
I make sure I get in a good workout 4 - 6 days a week after work hours....that's what I consider the 'real' workout. That being said I like to keep active during work hours to with frequent walks, take the stairs, stretching in the bathroom ect ect.

Nothing but soup for breakfast, lunch and dinner for 10 days?!?!??!:noway: I would find it a lot easier just to eat a variety of healthy foods. Fad diets don't work!
-
There is no information available on your profile so it's going to be hard to help you. You should open up your diary and give us your stats....height, weight, age, calories a day, types of workouts.

I haven't given up any particular food or food group. I've given up eating huge portions of food. Everything in moderation!

^^^^^ What a moronic and ignorant post!!!! There is no 'learning to live' with a diseased organ. If left untreated it can lead to serious health problems. A bad gallbladder is NOT just the result of a poor diet, there are other factors play into it. It's not a simple matter of clean up your diet and you won't have any more…

54 here!! And yes....it's way harder now to stay in shape then 20 years ago! But so worth it!! Hang in there and reach for those goals:flowerforyou:

Diet Coke!!! Yes Please!!! You'll get a whole a lot of answers on here ranging from 'it's the nectar of the devil avoid at all costs' to 'I can't live without it'. And everyone will have some sort of 'scientific' back up to prove their point. Here's my very unscientific opinion. I drink diet soda. I like it, it tastes good…

Any 'diet' that leaves you weak and shaky is not healthy and not sustainable. And most likely the few pounds you do lose you will gain back as soon as you stop dieting. It's best to make this a healthy lifestyle change. Eat the allotted calories MFP gives you, eat a variety of healthy fresh foods, drink lot's of water and…

You're not eating enough for your height and weight, you may feel great now but at some point down the road you may crash and burn. As far as 2 hours of exercise a day. If you have the time and you truly love doing that much...go for it. But for general all around fitness 2 hours is not necessary. A good efficient hour…

There is absolutely nothing wrong with cardio!!! It's my belief that a good exercise program consists of both - cardio and strength training!

I'm glad you've had the surgery and are on the road to recovery!! Sucks that they couldn't do it laparoscopically though!!! Better days are ahead! Speedy recovery :flowerforyou:

Not a silly question - been there and done that with regards to pushing myself too intensely when under the weather. Now that I'm older I've learned that it's ok to take a day or two (or however many days you need to recover). And if you're getting antsy and feel like doing something it's OK to deviate from the schedule…

Whoaa you need to stop and take a deep breath. First - weight loss requires a lot of patience. Second - stayi consistent and within your calorie goal. Make those calories as healthy as possible...but if a cheeseburger and fries happens don't immediately run to the scale to see if you've gained weight...that's just…
-
No No No. Just No. Please educate yourself regarding proper diet, nutrition and weight loss and make this a healthy lifestyle change. What is your rush to lose the weight fast? You didn't gain the weight over night..you're not going to lose it over night either. Fast weight loss = gain it all back just as fast.

Friday Afternoon Troll!! :noway:

I'm guilty of being a 'bathroom exerciser' too. I love adding a little extra burn to my day BUT it's so minimal I don't track it. I only log the workouts that I dedicated a specific block of time for....the rest it's just a bonus.

Colon cleanses are unnecessary. Save your money, just eat healthy, drink lot's of water and exercise.
