  • I don't have many at my heaviest. I had a couple pics of my face that were...bad. Lol. This picture was even when I'd started to lose, I believe.
  • Before (obvs) at about 165-170: And nooooowwwwww at 150: That's only a 15-20 pound difference, now keep in mind I'm 5'2"...lol.
  • I did this and maintained for years. You just have to do the math. Figure out how many calories you need weekly. Subtract how many calories you want to eat Saturday and Sunday, then figure out your M-F calories. I was eating 13300 calories weekly. Sat-3000 cal Sun-2000 cal M-F-1660 cal, if I ate less one day I ate more…
  • I've had a pretty good weekend. Not much anxiety, lots of good (untracked....lol) food, and I worked out yesterday and today. :) The ex and I took our daughter (she's my stepdaughter, but I've helped raise her since she was a baby) to the fair on Friday with her friend to celebrate her birthday and everyone was in a good…
  • Just gotta stick a [ img ] in front and a [ /img ] in back, remove the spaces. :) Also, I changed them over to tinypic.com because they were huge. lol
  • Well, when you fail reps on SL technically you're working until failure. I think what she's saying is if your arms are going to give out, it's going to be before you get to the point of no return over your body. When I fail reps on bench, it's because I've lowered it to my chest and can't get it back up (then I do the roll…
  • Lol, yeah my grunts get pretty impressive around 145ish. I make a conscious effort not to sound overly sexual, haha, that sounds so weird but it's true! I hate when people sound like they are doing it at the gym. Mine are like "HNG...hooo" LMFAO. I can play it in my head. When I get to feeling like HNG then I know it's…
  • Breathe in at the top, hold it the entire squat. You want your abs/core to stay tight through the whole squat. If you exhale, you are releasing that pressure. I exhale only at the top or very close to the top if I need a little oomph.
  • Hey! Welcome to the group! I think your observations about the group are pretty spot on, this is one of the most supportive and active groups I have ever been a part of. Not much snark, if any, and everyone seems genuinely interested in helping one another. I hope you enjoy stronglifts. If you have any questions, they…
  • Usually being the operative word. She's been arguing her case for a week. Very stubborn girl. Sometimes things don't get to be her decision. Sometimes things don't get to be MY decision. So technically she is learning to be an adult even with me making the decision for her.
  • I'm not "doing drama". She's sad and is allowed to cry. She still doesn't get to do both sports, but she can be as mad or sad as she wants about it.
  • If it was just her lesson to learn it would be different. However, there are two teams of girls who will have to deal with a teammate missing days of practice and games, and that is unfair to them. Her lesson being learned is that she needs to better consider her options when signing up for activities. We checked with her…
  • Guys, seriously, cut me some slack. You think I didn't sit down with my kid and explain why it wasn't going to work and how we came up with the decision? She's still upset, she's a kid. I'm an adult and sometimes I still get upset at perfectly rational things. This is just a fun thread at why your kid cries. Maybe I'll…
  • The contract idea will not work, as she will not be able to give 100% to time conflicting sports. It's not just that I feel she'll be tired and sore, which she would, but that it's physically impossible to be at two practices at once.
  • That's exactly the point we made, but she no like to logic.
  • Yep, starting her freshman year taking honors classes and hoping to get into the IB program her junior year. This is another reason the two sports are a no go right now. I told her, just try for one honors class this year and add more if you feel that you need more of a challenge. But noooo, she wants to try several, so I…
  • I never said I don't enjoy my teenage daughter, I love the fact that we can talk more and I can teach her cooler things, and she is becoming more independent than she already was. You have to admit though, that teens are emotional, and emotional sometimes about things you wouldn't expect. Once when I was 13 I cried…
  • This is one of the cutest things I've ever heard, lol!
  • No, I'm not letting her sign up for two sports and miss games and practices for both sports, it's not fair to the teams.
  • I love my foam roller. Well, I hateithateithateithateitHATEIT, then love it. I use mine almost every day. Sometimes I forget to.
  • Definitely the most notable was when I was rejected by hearing the boy I had a crush on yell over a crowd of about 60 other 6th graders between us, "MICHELLE!? She's so UGLY, I would NEVER go out with her!" I cried the whole way home on the bus. My favorite rejections were from the boys that later asked me out in high…
  • If you didn't pass out you didn't go hard. Come back to brag after you pass out.
  • Ha! I just read the short story. Very funny. :)
  • LOL, I asked her a question after being ignored when trying to talk with her, it was "Do you want me to leave you alone?" *ignore* "suremeansyesspawn, do you want me to leave you alone?" "Yes."
  • Mine is 14 as of tomorrow! Hopefully she doesn't open her present and say something like "I'd rather play winter ball then have this" but I am now fully expecting it. OR, she will wake up tomorrow in a great mood! Who knows? It's like a game show where all the prizes are punishments.
  • You'd give her back, trust me.
  • I was going to say the same. Lol, you're using the wrong box if you aren't breaking parallel doing box squats. I did them this morning and broke parallel every single rep. I was becoming too quad dominant on my squats and I use a box now to make sure I am hitting that backside as well (in more ways than one I guess).…
