You need to deload your squats. If you would've taken your normal rests indicated in the program, you'd probably have missed a rep or two. And that's okay. I've made serious strength gains using SL5x5 and I've had several fails (a couple on squats, few times on OHP including a deload, a few times on rows including a…

Heeeyyy...you made your stuff private.

I take progress pics monthly. I haven't lost but like 1 or 2 pounds maybe since I started MONTHS ago, but my inches have gone down like crazy. I swore up and down I had gained weight, that I looked "fatter", but I took my last progress picture and that gave me a reality check.

What's a guarana drink?

I had grilled romaine with some chopped olives on top in a restaurant one day and it was freaking amazing. I need to make this soon.

Mine held up with hours in the pool, daily, for weeks, but it tracks nothing in there.

I ate SOOOOOOOOOO so so so so much this weekend, lol. Today I did some...cardio...after my SL workout. Squats: 5x5 @125 Bench: 5x5 @105, triple digits now! Row: 5x5 @80 Then I did some tire flips, toes to bar, tire flips, pull ups using tire, more tire flips, and jumps onto the tire. Then, I was tired. HA, GET IT? Okay,…

I started giving my daughter protein smoothies when she was about 12 during her sport seasons. She hadn't given up meat, but just definitely was not eating enough of it, and protein in general. She loved smoothies though, so I would make a shake of plain whey protein, chocolate almond milk and a banana. I would mix the…

Just the five. I've also been teaching swim since the end of May, I see a trainer once a week, and I do a cross fit type class on Saturdays. No dedicated ab work, but I'm definitely super active. :)

No! Please! I'll stop. What about eagle eggs? I heard they give you eagle powers.

Sir, I apologize. As penance I will drink a g spot gainer shake. It'll probably help me win the lottery and graduate college with honors.

My 13yo watched Pulp Fiction. She said it was too hard to follow though.

I've heard that if you've been running a program for a while, you can continue during pregnancy. If you've just started however, I'd consult with your ob/gyn to see what you should so. :) But what do I know, I've never been pregnant. lol

Juli, I put pics up last night in the progress pics thread. I was -convinced- I had gotten fatter because I've put on a few pounds...but if you look at my pictures you can see that's not the case. Our brains always make it worse than it is. I can't wait to see your progress. :)

Hm. And I was all like "WAH, I HAVEN'T LOST WEIGHT SINCE MAY, I'VE GAINED IT, WAH!" Well, inches brah.
-
lol, that's pretty much what I was thinking!

Okay, but serious answer, I do regularly check and do preventative stuff with spots on my skin, and regular paps, and yearly physicals. Use your insurance, people! It's why you pay for it. :)

I have my girlfriend do it.

You think the shake is what is helping your daughter beat out kids in her age range? Maybe she's just good at swimming and your shake does nothing but fuel her.

You are truly a god among men.

Don't ever feel that way around here! No one is judging you or what you can lift. The fact that you are lifting is impressive on it's own, it can be intimidating getting into what was (and still basically is) a male dominated area.

YES! I noticed the same thing myself. 5 reps is a lot to get through once I reached about 130-140ish. DEF taking longer on the down and up once I get to that weight. lol

Congrats to Padzster on the awesome DL and to coltsgirl on getting through the OHP plateau! :) Two of my favorite lifts.

I second the scrambled eggs with cheese and mashed potatoes. I also ate a lot of applesauce, pudding, and those mashed fruit packets. After a couple days I ate ice cream too. I just wanted lukewarm stuff at first.

Workout 2 of post injury deload and again, all is well. :) Squats are 120 5x5 OHP is at 80 (no deload on that) 4/3/3/3/2, I am aiming for all 4's and 5's next time... DL I dropped all the way to 95 from 185, 95 went really well and I even did a couple more sets, 115 and 125. :)

cass, several people have done dumbbell modifications. Maybe do a search for some of those threads in this group? :)

It makes sense that it happens around 4pm because bit by bit the day chips away at your self control. Add grief into that and it becomes almost impossible to get through the day in one piece. Cut yourself a little slack, and once you are feeling a little stronger, see if there is something else you can do instead of…

Lol, and I'm the odd one who like OHP!

Okay OP, regardless of what machine you are currently using, congrats on getting in there and not letting intimidation stop you. If you let fear or other people stop you, you won't live your life to the fullest. That being said, if you're in a smith machine, see if you can find a gym where you'd be using free weights…

Yesterday I did a pretty decent deload in order to make sure I don't aggravate the slight back pain I had. Squats went to 115 from 150, 5x5 Bench didn't deload at all from 100, 5x5 Rows were down to 75 from 100, 5x5 My back was great and I made it through. I think it was more important mentally than anything because I was…
