  • Since you can't get a scale the best option here just seems to be to forget and move on. You know what your mistake was so in future you can use it to learn from. Today I've spent like ALL day sat about on the sofa, I ate pizza and now I'm drinking beer. I know it's bad but I've had an insanely good week so tomorrow I'll…
  • I've only been doing this for one week but I've lost an inch off my hips (42" down to 41"). I do have large hips, especially since my waist is 32", so ideally I'd like to drop a few more inches off both. I don't want to change my hip to waist ratio, I like the curves!
  • This is a perfect distinction between the two :D Overeating =/= bingeing
  • Yup, I was diagnosed with depression and a binge eating disorder. I know it wasn't a case of over eating because after being put on antidepressants my compulsion to binge eat disappeared. As others have said, binge eating is a compulsive behaviour. There's no control and it's normally linked to emotions. Being full up or…
  • Ohhh I hadn't spotted that, thanks! (Sorry, I'm new at this..)
  • Annabel, 20, currently living in Oxfordshire although will be moving to London in the near future. Currently weigh 77kg, looking to get to 60/65kg and see how I look, then decide if I need to lose more or not :)
  • God, the discussion should've ended after this post. Assuming what you're drinking is a liquid, then chances are its main component is water so there is no problem logging it. Either way relying on the logger to know whether or not you're hydrated enough makes no sense to me. Just drink what your body needs.
  • Amazing! It's insane that your before and after weights are the same considering how different you look. Your before pictures look a lot like me now so this is some good motivation! :D
  • ^I agree with that, but whether or not you call it bad or unhealthy is really just wordplay. As I said before, context is important, and I'm assuming (judging by the website we're on), this person is asking because they want to know what place potatoes have within a healthy diet.
  • Obviously context is important when deciding whether a food is good or bad, but by your logic no food can be good either. Also I just saw you're right about them being complex carbs, but overall sweet potatoes are still a better option IMO.
  • Processed foods, coke and alcohol definitely isn't a good diet whether or not it fits into a calorie allotment, surely. I could lose a couple pounds a week sat on my butt drinking beer as long as it was within my calorie allotment, but that doesn't mean it's nutritionally beneficial. The whole "bad"/"good" food argument…
  • Thanks for the tips! My new job is also as a pastry chef, although actually having a job that revolves around desserts has actually completely put me off sweet things. My weaknesses tend to be fatty savoury things and alcohol! But I suppose the idea of finding healthier alternatives still applies. MFP says I should be…
  • I wear UK size 12-14 bottoms and size 10-12 on top. I'm a mega pear shape, my aim is to fit comfortably into a size 10 pair of jeans.
  • I find it can help to allow yourself something small of whatever you'd normally binge on, even if it means going over your usual calorie intake for one day. It's better to go over a small amount than however much you would with a binge, plus you're not then left with the guilty feelings. If not chug a pint of water or try…
