  • Your eating cause of the nicotine withdrawl as well as your habit of having a smoke in your hands. Its natural for folks to substitute food and gain weight when quitting. I substituted carrots and gum when I needed something in my hands. Good luck.

  • I buy it frozen and toast it before eating it. I think its great. If you let it thaw out its pretty soft, but I have never had it that way. I use it make tune fish or turkey sandwiches I have even used it with veggie burgers. I like it and is the only bread we keep at home.
  • I have learned that my body is a tough critic to what I am eating. It's not just a matter of keeping under my calories for the day, its the quality of the food I am taking in that makes the difference. I had lost about 20 pounds and felt great about myself. My cholesterol even dropped to a healthy level. Then I figured I…
  • This is my down fall. I cant stop eating them until the whole bowl is gone. If I'm at a restaurant, I order refills. I have ZERO self control when it comes to good chips and salsa. :(
  • Everyone hates to hear it, including me. I LOVE sugar !! BUT, it is bad for you. Like alcohol, we can have some in moderation, but its not good for us. Sugar is Sugar. That means sugar in fruit is just as much sugar as the sugar you scoop into your coffee, or in soda, or in juice. We should not ignore all the sugar in…
  • The first few months were really tough, then it got easier every day thereafter. It is truly amazing how much better you feel after you've quit a few months. I am thinking of actually taking that day off from work and going out somewhere. Enjoy the day, breath in the fresh air and enjoy a relaxing stress free day....

  • Depends on how hard your working and everyone will burn a different amount with different levels of effort, body weight, etc. 600 is conservative, if you really work hard I have heard folks say that their HRM indicated they burned as high as 1200 calories in a session. I generally stick to 600 and hour for my typical…
  • If your target is 1200 calories per day and you do a workout that burns 600 calories you need to take in a total of 1800 calories for that day. If you don't take in enough food to fuel your body you will get headaches and fatigue and remain hungry. Slow and steady wins the race.
  • Congrats and Welcome back !
  • Someone say BEER ?? Sorry didnt mean to yell ;)
  • I too was constantly over on my sugar intake. Last year there were some folks that posted this video and the information was enlightening. I have since reduced sugar intake to under 20g per day and it has done wonders for me. I have lost weight, my cholesterol is back to normal cause my triglycerides dropped dramatically.…

  • WOW ! Very powerful and motivating post. I can relate to a lot of the things your referring to in your list. One bit of advise that helped me and some of my friends along this journey... • I understand how you feel. I was at the office the other day when an important client came in for a meeting. We headed up to the 8th floor and found the conference room. Everyone sat down and my boss started talking. Cant tell you the rest of the story, I need to go peee........
  • I hate the "serving size" :grumble:
  • Thanks !!
  • I'm glad to hear it will go away. Was wondering if maybe i was taking in too much water now.
  • Thanks for the advice. Will watch my sodium a bit closer. What is interesting to me is that I used to take in ALOT more sodium than I do now, an never had this happening before. The biggest change in my diet has been number of calories and amount of water I am drinking.
  • If you watch the video you will realize it is not attempting to blame sugar for anything. It is simply explaining how sugars are metabolized in our bodies. It goes on to explain that high fructose corn syrup does not metabolize like normal sugars and the body tends to convert it to and store it as fat. He is attempting to…
  • I like that... The "Fat Wagon" I have only been doing this healthy eating thing for a short time, but it is actually a bit exciting for me to figure out what is in all those "Fat Wagon" foods that I was living on for so long. It has been eye opening to say the least. I cant believe how oblivious I was for so long. Everyone…
  • I have been stuck at the same weight now for the last 2 weeks. A little bit frustrating. I have been up and down with my calories anywhere between 1500 and 2500 on weekends between easter and mothers days get togethers. I was sort of hoping that these larger meals would kick start things but nothing.....:grumble: I am just…
  • I substituted baby carrots, apples, pears, and oranges for my smoke breaks. I also used regular gum (not nicotine gum) when I needed to chew on something while at my desk or driving. It gets easier with every passing day. Just keep going. Keep telling yourself that you are in charge of your body, not those damn cancer…
  • The Sodium drops to 73 if you dont add that 1/2 teaspoon of salt that is in the recipe. I dont think it would even need it.
