Well, hopefully OP is taking the criticism well. If not, then she should be more mindful of what she posts. Part of "growing up" means knowing what to say and when to say it not to mention taking responsibility for what she says and taking what comes from it. If she wanted a shoulder to cry on, those comments are best left…

A small glass of milk helps me. But I know some people consider milk the devil. It's good to fill you up a bit and feeds your muscles while you sleep.

I'm back on MFP because of my new spare tire. I am 44 and VERY active. I eat like hell lately and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE beer. So here I am again. I'm training for a Marathon and this extra 20 lbs I've gained is making things very difficult. I knew at some point I would have to start eating better, but I'm lazy in that respect.…

Hi, Barb! I think I am in the throws of peri menopause. My body is doing some very bad things to me lately. I am 44 and extremely active, but have really started packing on the pounds. Because I have been so active, I haven't had to worry too terribly much about food, but I know that I will have to change some eating…

Protocol is for you to yell "on your left" (or whichever side you plan to pass) if you are passing others from behind. Most people will move. I'm guessing you are talking about those oncoming peeps, though. If I can get off the path and I'm on foot, I will get out of the way for any wheels. I feel it is easier for me to…

I wave, smile, and say "hi" to everyone I pass unless I am about to puke from the heat or during a speed workout. I do the same when I'm cycling. Most of the time I get a positive response, but sometimes I get the blank stare. I just think it's a great way to acknowledge the efforts of anyone who has gotten up off their…

HA ha ha!! I've already gotten some flack for "not taking care of my feet" but I really want to give it an honest try. I ran 1 mile (on the treadmill) the first time - no pain, next 2 miles - no pain. Then I went three miles and still no pain so I kept it at 3 for the next several runs with no pain. Went to 4 miles last…

I totally agree with this!! Massaging the calves, arches of my feet (actually all of my foot feels really good), rotating my ankles before I get out of bed, and on occasion after a run some Advil and ice packs on my heels/feet.

Probably a lot of water, but maybe some muscle fat you gained during the run. The longer runs help you build and store muscle fat which isn't a bad thing if you want to keep running endurance races - you need that. If you're all about the number, then back off the running for a couple of days and you should see the weight…

I did this on my short run days directly after my run!

When I get a little burned out I remember this quote from Galloway: "The long run is your marathon training" If it's good enough for a marathon it's good enough for a half. I just ran my first marathon and sometimes I would trade my shorter run for cycling or yoga or some other cross train excercise. Sometimes I would just…

I have also heard that minimalist running shoes would help this. I plan to try this very soon and hope it works!

Gee...Just ran a marathon after months of training and my PF is better than it has ever been. Stretching/yoga, doing the alphabet thing (or a variation of) before you get out of bed, not going barefoot or wearing cushy/supportive shoes all day, and occasionally massaging my feet is all I do. I can't imagine getting a…

I don't know how far you can run, but just take it nice and slow for a while. Run until you are out of time. Just run! :o) There are some training plans out there (couch to 5k, couch to 10k, etc) that can give you a schedule. When I first started running, I would go 3 miles maybe 3 times a week. My half marathon schedule…

You ROCK, StarkLark!!

Same here!

I was just the Opposite! But I had a friend who was the same as you.

Just puttin in my two cents: Stess will kill sex drive and so can B/C. I've been Mirena and it completely killed my sex drive - I dreaded sex. I have switched B/C and I'm not so psycho and the sex drive is better, but not as good as it used to be. Kids can wear you out, too (I have two young children and I stay home with…

This post is proof positive that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. No advice when needed, but when you whine...just look at all the freakin' posts. Yes - this is definitely disappointing!

Probably already been said, but I have a pic of my face so people know what I look like. I would rather invision talking to a person's face - not a body...particularly a half naked one. Has nothing to do with anything I want to hide.
-
...and let me add that you look pretty fabulous. Would not have guessed you were 50!

I'm pretty sure women over 40 need to do more strength training. Helps with the bone loss among other awesome benefits. :o) I think you'll love the results you get from it as well! Happy lifting!
-
I've heard this, too. But then again, I've also heard it's a load of crap as well. :o) I prefer to workout in the morning but only after I've had a chance to wake up and eat first. I get so sleepy in the afternoons that I tend to blow it off if I wait until then. I also like to get it out of the way and only shower once.…

Never okay - even if they have blacked out. If they can't control what they do when drinking, they shouldn't drink. If they can't be monogamous then they can get the heck out of the relationship.

Throw it away as soon as she leaves.

EXACTLY what I was going to say. I'll second THIS!

Don't you think the weed thing and food addition are kind of related??? Can we say, "munchies"?? :o) Just sayin'

My husband and I both hate it so we don't really celebrate it...and we save a TON of money! :o) We do get a little something sweet for the kids, though. :o)

Well, I have a friend (and I've experienced this, too) who would work out every single day. That was her lifestyle. She ended up having issues (not serious ones) with her heart. At night, her heart would beat really, really hard and it caused her to lose sleep. She did a lot of cardio and so do I. I think a rest every once…

You are sadly misinformed
