I'm the same. I started MFP in March this year and was given a goal of 1,200 calories per day. I hit that every day and eat back my work out calories when required. I eat more now, than when I was being fat and unhealthy and I don't feel hungry at the end of it either. Different things work for different people, I would…

These are all very good suggestions and comments! It's nice to see I'm not the only one that feels like this about the dreaded scales!
-
It's crazy isn't it. We all rely on them to track our progress yet we never know if they are telling us the truth or not! I'm definately getting my set weight and testing it when I get home!

Thanks everyone for your responses! You've all made me feel a lot better about being a little negative Nancy! I'm going to try the idea with putting a set weight on the scales to check they are correct (Thanks for that idea!) I've got 2 sets of scales, one digital and one "doctors" scales, I use them both and they state…

Thanks Both :) Really useful tips and I will try them all! :)

Quite honestly, I wasn't determine enough. I was using an exercise bike but it just didn't seem to do anything. I've got a treadmill now and plan to walk in the fresh air as much as I can. Then on not so nice weather days, I'll use the treadmill. Only reason I ask is because I've seen some post say that walking isnt as…

Thanks ladies :) Fiona - I know exactly how you feel. I was really nervous to actually allow people to see what I eat on a daily basis.. But I agree with you, it gives you a sense of accountability as to what you log and what you eat. You should always do one thing a day that scares you, this was mine! Keeps you on your…

I'm from the UK and log in every single day. Everyone please feel free to add me! I just had the confidence to open up my diary to friends... Now I just need some! :D

27 in May this year. Anyone is welcome to add me if you like. I've only just had the confidence to open up my diary so any hints and tips are welcome :)

I'd love some friends! I've only just had the confidence to open up my diary to friends. It'd be good to have some supportive people on here :)

Very impressive results above. Dan, I may well have just messaged you for some tips :)

Just give it time. Rome wasn't built in a day. Take some tips from the lovely people on MFP and find what works for you and gives you results. Have faith in yourself, YOU CAN DO IT, just stay positive and stay determine :)

Yes, MFP will set 1,200 per day. But if you burn off calories you need to eat them back. IMO.

It's always debatable and people will have different opinions. But, personally, and I am not a health expert, I don't think you are eating enough! You need to eat back your burnt calories, or your body will go into "starvation mode" and you won't get the benefit. Also, try eating a variety of fruits and veggies rather than…

Thanks for your comment :) I make sure that I track my meals at all times and I am logging every single thing that I eat and drink, so now all I need to do is get my fitness levels up and I'll be away! :)

DON'T GIVE UP. Just because the scales aren't moving it doesn't mean you aren't changing your body. Someone sent me this picture when I felt like giving up and it made me realise that I am making a difference. I hope it can help you: http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mblb1wMXns1rnd4sro1_500.jpg You may be losing fat and…

Thank you for your response :) I'm going to take on board all the things people have said. I've now fiddled with the settings a bit so that my MFP shows me the important things NOT to go over and put the other things in the background. I will still keep them in mind obviously, but now I can focus on what's important and…

Hi Everyone, Thank you so much for your comments and input. I feel a lot better about the greens and red's now. It is trial and error so maybe I will just allow the reds to happen, as long as I remain in the green with the important things. I just wanted to say well done to everyone as-well, I can see on your tickers that…
