  • I really appreciate all of your insight. I agree that I think she may be feeling conflicted....she wants me to be healthier, but she doesn't want things to change. She misses me suggesting going to neat restaurants and all you can eat buffets. We do eat out a lot. However, she is the kind of person that says exactly what…
  • Yeah, I wouldn't be caught dead in maize and blue!
  • I do love my beer.
  • Thank you all for the supportive comments. I made my diary public, if you care to look. I typically consume about 2000 calories per day, which is right where I should be. I have been losing 2 or 3 lbs per week.
  • I have always struggled with this also. It was so ingrained in me to finish what was on my plate, then I had even extrapolated that to the whole table. If my kids didn't finish their meals....I would clean their plates up as well.. Eat until it's ALL gone - was always my motto. It's still very difficult for me to let food…
  • I plan my days (and vacations) around beer, if my wife will let me get away with it.. You and I could have a lot of fun at a couple of bars I like around here.
  • I'm an IPA drinker also. I've had Unearthly and very much enjoyed it. Haven't tried Lenny's RIPA yet - but it's on my list. My faves are Hopslam, Two Hearted, Mad Hatter, Racer 5, Founder's Centennial, Avery Maharaja, DFH 90 Minute, Kuhnhenn 4D.
  • My go to light beer is Guinness draught. It's not my favorite - but it's only 126 calories and it sure beats Coors Light.... :drinker:
  • My favorites are mostly Michigan beers - Founders Bells Shorts New Holland Dark Horse But I love beers from all over the country and world. Bear Republic just recently started distributing here. I'm really loving Hop Rod Rye, Racer 5 and Red Rocket :) If I go over my calories for the day, it is usually because I couldn't…
  • I log mine in under "beer snacks" :drinker:
  • I've lost 27 lbs now, and I can see it a little bit, but I feel the difference in the way my clothes fit, more than anything else. The frustrating part for me, is that I haven't had anyone spontaneously tell me that they can see a difference yet. I don't generally tell people that I'm dieting, but I keep waiting for…
  • Another Michigander here! I agree completely with kpuccio. It's so easy to find whatever you just ate, with the phone app. It's helped me realize that I was eating about 3X the amount of calories that I should eat - everyday! No wonder I kept gaining weight. After a couple of days, it becomes really easy - and you start to…
