  • I'm around 1200 +/- on any given day. It's working for me. What's working for you? Also, you need some high days and some low days, keep the body guessing!
  • I was hit head on by a car when I was 11. I know all about sciatica, especially when I was PG. Go to a chiropractor! do not wait! Specifically find a Palmer Graduate. They are the best in the field. I'm 47 now and pretty much no more sciatica!
  • I don't really budget it a head of time, I just sort of think about it and think about what I'm doing....activity wise. And make different choices that day.
  • My daughter's Girl Scout troop was out doing the ropes course and parents were invited to join. For the first time ever I was able to sucessfully climb to the top of the wall! woo hoo!
  • Go Greek, use Trojans!
  • Just saw another one while I was looking for mine: crockpot 5 ingredients or less cook book
  • Fix it and forget it crockpot cookbook
  • I'm enjoying mine for as long as I can. Mom had breast cancer at 55. I'm 47 now. Victoria Secret has some great bras I like I'm also now forever fearful of surgery of any kind. My hubby went in for a simple shoulder scope at 37 and never woke up. oxygen problems, 1/2 his brain was killed. He is not and never will be the…
  • I hear you. My husband deployed for the gulf war right after we got married. We now have 3 kids, and he wasn't even there for the brith of #3. Make a lunch bunch or play group with other moms/friends. You will eat more when your happily around friends and not alone. I lived on choclate milk shakes! In fact I would take my…
  • thanks for the update. I would agree you handled it beautifully. Work relationships are difficult at best. I learned the hard way not to socialize or date people I work with. When I broke that personal rule it always came back and bit me in the butt. Now just be sweet and nice, and unavailable/distant. You do still have to…
  • It sounds like you got a lot of good advice here. Most importantly be honest with her. Tell her the old "When you did this ..... it made me feel......" I don't appreciate it. Because of this I'm canceling our plans. I'm too hurt right now to be with you. It does sound like the guy was reaching out to you, feeling…
  • Lipton Green tea citrus
  • Was 5'7" but think I'm shrinking as I get older so...probably closer to 5'6" now! ;-) My goal is 125, but as I get closer I realize I'm not 27 anymore either! So we'll see. Was down to 135 this spring, and that was pretty good. Thinking I'd really like to see what 130 feels like.
  • another thing to be aware of is your scale. I went out and bought a digital, and can actually see results. I may only lose 1/2 pound or a couple of oz at a time. Versus the old dial, which told me nothing, unless it was a big loss. So now, I can see that after a year I lost 20#, and yes, LOL my electronic shows me summer…
  • yes there was a ferocious pit bull just up the street from me when I was a little girl. Every day I would walk by it's fence on my way to school to get my face licked and kisses! ;-)
  • He said he "should" not be eating rice, simple grains, potatoes, pasta, etc....but he LOVES THEM. His words, not mine. So he knows better, just no will power. Maybe it's my problem, not his. It just torques me that he eats so much and so quickly! Once we were sitting down for pizza, and before we had all sat down or even…
  • good thinking, just plan as if I'm feeding two more mouths, not just one more. And no, I don't think he does a very good job of following his diabetic diet. I just don't want to be the death of him. My kids are skinny mini's and eat like there's no tomorrow! Very very very active, especially that week.
  • But how do you cook enough for teenage kids that have been burning 1000 cal a day, and a diabetic bro that will practically eat two meals in the time it takes you to sit down and begin your meal?
  • You guys can laugh and call me old fashioned, but we waited until our wedding night, and that was 22 years ago! Now I tell my kids the same thing!
  • One more neat trick I learned from my Mom. If you cook the meal the day before, the next day, when it's cool, u can skim the fat off the top with a large spoon and throw it away! If you are eating it that day, use a paper towel and skim it off the top and throw that away. Be sure to leave a little bit for flavoring
  • p.s. to answer the question about the chicken, and not the children, I wouldn't worry about logging in the fat. I make chicken soup all the time, you the skin and marrow from the bones to flavor the soup. If you don't it's very very bland and you end up having to add lot's of salt, which is not the same or as good. yes,…
  • LOL I thought this said a silly question about children!!!! I wouldn't recommend putting them in a crock pot!!! ;-)
  • hmmmm thanx for the idea....may have to try this one
  • Thanks for the reminder....;-)
  • apparently my youngest(10!) was hiting and/or biting her siblings! (13,16) I told them all that what ever she does to you you have permission to do it right back in equal, not excessive, force. We don't have that problem anymore and they all have birthday's this month. ;-) I also don't give allowances. They know how much a…
  • For Lent this year I went LC, Basically South Beach Phase 1. I lost a good 5#! For me that's something! Unfortunatly I stopped and practically carb binged after, and guess what, it's all back. i'm gonna try and not go completely carb free, but make better carb choices, more like Phase 2. But I did learn a couple of things.…
  • I wish i could double quote, the ones who have lost their mother's as well. Here's my twist on it. 1. You do need to be assertive with her. You may or may not need an extended time out. I did w my Mom, but that kinda made things worse. what we do now is cut the phone call off. Mom, we'll have to agree to disagree, or…
  • This is what found to be true as well. I ended up buying a new scale, one that had a body fat measurement too. I found out that my body only needs 1350 cal a day just to maintain. A body needs a 300 cal/day deficit just to lose one pound. For me that means I either A) should be eating around 1050 cal a day or B) exercise…
  • very good advice! When my dh and I first got married he received a letter from an old gf, telling him how her engagement fell through, and how she never should have left my hubby go. Very full of innuendoes. He was deployed in the Gulf at the time. when next we spoke, I told him about the letter, and that I was not going…
