I used to be just like you, but I kept doing it and kept doing it. Now I love it! I lift and I run marathons and ultramarathons! Just keep at it!

This is probably the 198,255th time this post has been made here. Lol. But I'll bite. IIFYM means calorie counting. Clean eating means eating foods you believe to be healthy and good for weight loss, but maybe not actually counting your calories. While clean eating is fine, IIFYM is superior because it means you are…

I've been taking Bodypump for several years and am considering becoming an instructor. It is NOT a mixture of strength training and cardio. It is a 60-minute barbell-based strength training class, although in some locations they offer shorter formats. The class is choreographed and produced by Les Mills. The class features…

Oh yes, I have had long-standing issues with binge eating and trying to lose weight with exercise. A lot of it had to do with being an elite athlete. It has been hard to overcome. I will definitely add you.
-
Depends. Once you get to my level (marathons and ultramarathons), you most certainly better be eating CARBZZZ!!! or else good luck even finishing. But you could probably still do low carb if you're doing 5Ks.

Hey OP, you should check out this topic I started a while back. It might help you. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1339196-why-is-consistency-so-hard-for-most-people?

I have been taking Bodypump for almost 4 years now, and I am currently training to become an instructor. Take a look at my photo. It works and I have lost so much fat. I could be bigger than I am now but I have started marathon training, so I am not currently putting on muscle. But one can. I absolutely love Bodypump, I go…

Try an aqua aerobics class and ask your doctor about the Synvisc injection.

Sprite Zero! I love it. I don't drink, so I even get it when I am out at bars. Everyone thinks I have a vodka drink! Oh, and the edit: I have seen some of that research, and I believe it is not valid. There is only ONE way to hinder your weight loss: To not achieve a caloric deficit. As long as you are hitting your calorie…
-
Yes, it's a little bit of a silly question. Because a calorie deficit is the only thing that works. All successful plans are based on it. So, using MFP all by itself works. It's amazing that it's actually that simple. No hoopla needed.
-
LMAO!!! I do Bodypump, and I officially declare you an addict! Don't feel bad, I'd try to do the exact same thing!
-
Try Bodypump! They teach it at Gold's and 24 hour.
-
I saw the photo. You could try to lose ten more pounds. Keep hitting your calorie goal and do lots of strength training.

In my opinion, weekly weigh ins are best. I almost always have the exact same conditions (every Monday morning, around 6 AM, after coffee and bathroom and before eating anything, on the same scale at my gym, in the same kind of clothing and shoes, before working out). I think that weighing in more often than once weekly…

You may need to see a psychiatrist.

You're welcome! I really think consistency is key, and underrated. I hope I can offer more help to people who ask for it in the future by giving good advice on staying consistent. These ideas are golden.

Yes, we feel the same about Fox here in the US. Nobody with a brain is a republican.

I can't stand her. She's part of that obnoxious, excuse-making, fit-hating NAAFA crowd. Woman has no clue and no business telling anyone anything about health and fitness. She and her ilk really do promote obesity.

Awesome! Great responses, guys! Let's keep this conversation going.

Umm, eat less calories than you burn. And, no, it's not going to be a quick fix, it's a permanent lifestyle change. The end. There is no other answer.
-
Umm, run away, what is that thing on your head? Scary.
-
Oh yay, this thread again! It's just everything that's wrong with America, but it's a fairly good "gym" for most Americans, I suppose.
-
You need a good psychiatrist.

It's ok. Not as good as running but I am a marathoner and when my training gets to my joints a bit more than I would like, I use it for cardio for a day or two to back off of the running, then start running again. I can actually burn more calories running than I do on an elliptical though. But we all need to remember,…
-
They are answering your question. Usually, if you ask a stupid question, you get a stupid answer, but they're being nice and honest, so you're getting smart answers.
-
Running is much better because you can get more miles in and more calories burnt. And the calorie rates for walking and running a mile are different, it takes more calories to run than walk. I can burn 3700+ calories during a marathon.
-
Don't make it about or focus on how you're looking. Focus on the work. Every day, for the rest of your life. The results will happen when they happen but they are slow. Making it about the work will keep you from feeling discouraged.

The reason I posted each of those articles is to show that Crossfitters don't know what they're doing. They are have very little knowledge and training on safety, hence the high injury rates. One of my friends was hospitalized for a week with rhabdo due to Crossfit. And no, I have never done Crossfit. I'm smart enough not…
