  • I have the same problem. The military one says I should get down to 119 to be healthy. The other one says I should get down to 160. WAY different, though I think I would look horrible at 119. The military one says I have 91 lbs. of fat on me. The other one says I have 50 lbs. of fat on me. BIG difference.
  • I've got camera issues too. I usually don't let anyone take my picture, but I just got my MFA and graduated, so everyone was taking pictures. I saw my belly pooching out in one and almost cried. I wish that I could enjoy pictures. I don't have any pictures of me and my husband. Maybe I should hire someone professional like…
  • I was losing my hair and I was told to take 5000 mcg of biotin a day. Now my hair has grown back in and is thick and shiny again. And my nails are growing faster and maybe a bit stronger.
  • leftovers from dinner the night before, brown rice, chicken breast lunch slices, frozen fruit, etc I've always been this way too. For years all I would eat for breakfast was sweet tea and a dill pickle.
  • Tool. I can't remember album names, but definitely Tool.
  • I haven't done Zumba on the Wii (have from workout videos though), but I LOVE Wii boxing on the Wii fit. The Zumba workout videos are fun too, but don't know how that would be on the Wii.
  • My food also can't touch. When I was little, my parents wouldn't take me out to get a hamburger because they were embarrassed. I had to take the hamburger apart and eat it in a certain order. First the bottom bun, then the top, then the hamburger patty, last the pickles. Also when I was little, I refused to eat pepper…
  • When my father went to the heart doctor, the doctor told him that unless dad was predisposed to heart conditions that my dad could eat all the salt he wanted without heart consequences. That being said, the doctor said nothing about gaining or losing weight.
  • I don't disagree with the people saying to see your doctor. I do agree with the person that said to try non-breakfast foods. Since I was 14, all I could eat for breakfast without throwing up was sweet tea and a pickle. Now I eat rice and miso soup and can eat more. Also, I stop wanting to eat when it gets too hot. Don't…
  • Drink water. Drink as much as you can, and then drink more. I'm around the same weight as you and I have been drinking 10-13 glasses of water a day. I've been losing around 2 lbs a week. I wasn't losing that much until I increased my water intake. If you don't like water (and I HATE it), add mint or orange extract to make…
  • I had the same problem. I have bad knees and I got shin splints. Then I read that a common problem with beginners is that they start too fast. So I cut down how fast I was walking and I stopped trying to sprint for that minute. I started over power walking and slowly jogging. I know it will take me longer to reach my goal…
  • definitely edamame. I was a vegetarian for a long time and was allergic to peanut butter. this is what I ate for protein instead.
  • 11 minutes and 46 seconds running. 16 min and 20 seconds walking. This is a guess. I don't know what the mi after those numbers would be though.
  • Whenever I screw up and go over my calories, I consider that my break and start again the next day. Also, I miss exercising on some days. While I try not to do this, it still happens 1-2 times a week, so I don't feel the need to add another "on-purpose" break to that.
  • I hadn't run or walked any more than going to classes on campus when I started. I started my walk speed around 3 and my run speed around 4 to 4.5. I do have bad knees and wish that I had started even easier, because now my knees are hurting enough that i can't even run at all.
  • For some reason, my husband always claims to see weight loss in me, and tells me so even in the times I'm not trying to lose weight. The problem is the only time he thinks I've lost weight is when I've really gained 5 lbs.
  • My shrink actually told me to weigh every day. I know, and he knows, that the common wisdom is to weigh once a week, but he told me that if I derailed during the week and didn't know it, the self-esteem crash from the sticker shock on the scale would derail me even more. So I weigh myself once a day, though I keep in mind…
  • I have 2 Great Danes. I like to go running with them, but I'm only 5'1" and have a hard time keeping up with them. They're awesome motivation though.
  • Could you swim instead of the walk? When I was waitressing, swimming after my shift made my feet feel better. I didn't have the will power to make myself walk 5 miles :)
  • I'm a martial artist, and I firmly believe that every woman should take at least a self defense class, even if they don't want to get all the way into martial arts. There are so many easy moves a woman can do to protect herself that don't require any martial arts training. We just need to know what those options are and…
  • I'm not completely new, but I still have problems estimating and distributing my calories throughout the day. Either I get to bedtime with too many uneaten calories or am frantically finding a way to exercise because I have no calories left. I can't plan my meals a day ahead because my schedule is insane. I never know what…
  • I'm curious about this b/c I am about to go on some form of BC pills. I want to go on one of the ones where I only have 3-4 periods a year. Do those have a higher weight gain issue than the ones where you have a period every month? I have horribly painful periods, but I'll deal with that rather than gain more weight.
  • 1. I drink pure, raw tangerine juice. I don't know how its calories compare to what you are doing, but they are less than non-pure, high fructose corn syrup juices. 2. I also have knee problems. I have been swimming. That way I can control how much work my legs are doing by changing strokes or compensating more with my…
  • I wish I had realized at your age that I wasn't going to keep that amazing metabolism. I would have made a lot of decisions differently pertaining to what I ate. I was exercising, but even though I was a vegetarian, I was eating crap. Then around 24, my metabolism said screw that and I gained a lot of weight. It's funny.…
  • I am having problems with not eating all the calories back too, though that may be different once the weather cools down. When it gets hot I hate eating and only want to drink tea. Maybe this winter I'll be able to eat more. I'll probably constantly eat over, ha ha.
  • Wii Boxing. The rhythm is so mindless it lulls me into a peaceful not thinking mindset while I punch some frustration out.
