guh. this is totally me. the thought of working out less than an hour doesnt make sense to me but if i'm eating super clean i guess it does :) I need to remember that the bulk of my fitness will be based on my nutrition *sigh*

there was candy involved :) but nothing that wasn't balanced out by a solid run or strength session the same day

apple sauce is a great idea. i've also heard a diet soda in cake is fantastic. or how about a zucchini or carrot cake instead. i would also check out cooking light for some great ideas.

i forget how tall you are. 5? 5'1? i think your goal is a wonderful one for your height. I say get to it and reasses. Like others have said, maybe other metrics of fitness success...muscle tone...inches, etc...Congrats on being so close to your goal!

I've been inspired and I may make ground turkey soft tacos with whole wheat tortillas....delish.

i burned 800 calories at the gym during the first half watched puppy bowl (YAY) and then ate a slice of pizza and had 2 light beers break even?

weekends are definitely more difficult for me because those are the few times i see my bf (long distance...fun fun). But we try to build a good run or hike into the weekend as part of our time together. And I try not to beat myself up about a glass of wine or a slice of pizza i might have as long as I'm super diligent…

Made my homemade veggie soup last night. having some of that with a lean pocket (look away if you can't stand it  ) Veggie soup (replace with whatever veggies you prefer) 1/2 yellow onion 1 clove garlic minced 1 tbsp olive oil 2 red potatoes diced 1/2 large zucchini diced 1 large carrot diced 1 14oz can organic diced…

Oh boy do I ever need to get back on this. I accept although I'm a bit late....so i'll commit to 2.5lb. :) Hope everyone is doing well :)

HAVE to? nah. SHOULD you? yes. Not just as a supplement to help lose weight but for overall cardiovascular health. It isn't just about making the outside look good. :) It's not as strenuous as you think. Find something you enjoy and stick with it. Doesn't necessarily have to be in a gym.

My boyfriend (an MD) and I just had a big debate about this. He argues that total calories are total calories. I argued, using what i had heard from different sources, that your body burns calories at different rates during the day....for instance I've heard it's best to eat your largest meal at breakfast and taper off…

I'm with ya, the last 10 to 20 are difficult but attainable. I would also do spot checks on the way (every 2-3 lbs) to see if perhaps that's where you want to stay. Cause even if say 100lbs is your goal at 5' tall, your body may not want to stick with it despite your petite frame. Go with what feels good and what's healthy.

i am a self professed addict as well. and in this season of fresh baked goods, i am in tempted at every corner, even in my own kitchen. i am expected to bake this certain holiday bread every year and it took every last ounce of willpower not to cut a slice for myself. i did it but god only knows how i'll last tomorrow. i…

Agreed. It's super tough for me to give up the stuffing too. I'm not using any butter in mine...SAY WHAT?! Just using a little bit of oil and the rest is just chicken stock, apples, onions, celery, spicy turkey sausage, sage, s&p and dried ciabatta. yum yum yum

really great post. this is why i have a devil sticker on my scale. :)

This was a great post. I fully recognize that I was and still ocassionally am a binge eater and it's all based on emotions. This is how you balloon to almost 200lbs. I wish I could stop completely...this is a good place. Thanks again for the post.

I think some people can handle the everyday weigh in as a check in and some people cannot. This is not to say that one group is better than the other or whatnot but just like there is not one diet that works for everyone, there is not one way of weighing in that works for everyone, IMO. There are times that I weigh in…

yes. weight lifting creates a longer sustained burn. weight loss may not come as fast but you will lose as long as the other variables - clean diet - are intact.

all the suggestions above are really great. the focus on "another 5lbs" "another 10lbs" can quickly deteriorate to becoming a true obsession. It has for me. I wish I had had a forum or support system when I was doing the larger chunk of my weight loss to tell me that switching to a more healthy/different goal would probaby…

i love both pumpkin and chocolate so i can't wait to find out if these are a winner.

I heart it so much! my boyfriend and i carved pumpkins this weekend and bought our costumes...we're going to be penguins :) i also bought a few halloween themed items at Target. I love me some Target. I wish I had one near me. NYC sucks sometimes.

i think the jury is out on her. i've heard the opinions go either way with her. i think it's on eithe self or fitness that has a few of her moves posted and i tried them...they were ok for me but i didn't feel the burn that some people say they do. she proposes light weights with lots of reps (lots...i think in her studio…

it's always great to meet goals early! and the compliments...cherries on top! way to go and here's to your next goal! :drinker: (that's water in those mugs btw! )

i think if you cook often enough for yourself, you can guesstimate how things are cooked on a menu. And asking a server at a restaurant how something is prepared is not being a pain. and yeah, i worked at the cheesecake factory for years. very few things are good for you there but goddamn was it all good :)

so. i just watched this show Freaky Eaters and this one girl was addicted to soda. Drank a case a day...count 'em...24 cans of cola a day. holy moly, that's over 4000 calories in just SODA. i thought i had a problem with soda. I think diff methods work for diff people. Is it the bubbles you need? The caffeine? Find the…

Always on the lookout for a new cookbook thanks for the feedback. Now, of all the recipes in there, what percentage do you think you would actually cook? I just don't like purchasing a book when I think I'm going to use less than 50%, ya know? Especially with so many recips available online nowadays. Thanks :)

For me, I kind of like those shows. I agree that they are in no way based on reality or real weight loss. But what I take from them is entertainment (and they are entertaining, for me at least) and some extreme workouts from the trainers which I integrate into some of my own workouts.

sounds really filling and full of veggies. the only suggestion i would make is swapping out a whole wheat or multi-grain pasta for the regular (though i'm a big fan of the regular) to bump up the fiber and the protein <-- go figure! otherwise, this sounds delish. you get a lot of bang for your buck with this one. great job!

To the OP There has already been so pretty good advice given so I don't need to add my two cents. I just wanted to say I hope that you take care of yourself and realize that you're already at a pretty gosh darn healthy weight. Reading your original post made me worry for you. Take one day at a time and remember to have…
