  • Ha..this is turning into more of what I'M making for dinner tonight. I don't mind. Grilled BBQ chicken breasts Roasted sweet potatoes Steamed haricot vert
  • Imagine some sausage roll shaped cellulite sitting right on your thigh when you're putting on that super cute bathing suit you've been working so hard to look hot in....HOT?! :noway: You know better than that. And really.. do we want to read the laundry list of what's in that sausage roll? And say the word "sausage roll"…
  • I actually find that working out when I'm stressed is actually helpful. It releases the tension I hold in my shoulders and back and gets those good endorphins flowing, ya know? There are those rare occasions when I get home at 10pm from work and I really just can't get in a run or a strength session, but if i'm up for it,…
  • if you've stayed on track with your calories, your weight loss may not be what you want but the scale should have budged but I don't want to guarantee that... and like jrich1 said, worst case scenario, you pick up where you left off from before and get back on track.
  • Enjoy it and continue on this path to good health. Don't get frustrated when you don't see those great numbers continue. If you watch the Biggest Loser like I do, you know those numbers slow down. Remember, a loss is a loss :) Good luck!
  • Oof. I sure took my sweet time for this weigh in. It's that TOM and I still stepped on the scale... April 28: 134 May 3: 131.9 June 1: 130.6 June 7: 129.8 June 17: 128.7 June 26 (Event) Goal: 125 June 30 Goal: 124
  • Hey Vickie, I'm sure that it's frustrating that running is not helping you lose weight because it probably did for a little bit inthe beginning, right? It did for me, at least. Actually, running has been an integral part, as well as diet, in my weight loss. I was originally 190, went down to about 110-115 now at 130 trying…
  • 1 cup raisin bran 1/2 cup skim milk 1 boiled egg
  • I'd say, with the comparisons you made (i.e. to french fries or a donut or what have you) yes, that is a much better choice. And real foodies drink real milk...but they're also not trying to lose weight, ya know? But this is your journey, and if whole milk is your choice then I say go for it. But I would see if there were…
  • Congratulations on your success and accomplishments, especially in light of such trying times in your life. Continue to be proud of these moments!
  • Agree with everything you said. I always underestimate my calories burned. I don't trust what an elliptical machine or treadmill tells me. always lowball it
  • I have occasionally eaten a frozen Amy's meal here and there but at the end of the day, I know that to truly control calories I have to cook everything myself and measure everything out and EVEN THEN, My estimates might be off by a little bit...ya know? And as for this expose, they throw those percentages at you to put the…
  • tonight i'm making THAI LETTUCE CUPS one of my FAVE dishes
  • I'm making these again with the other half of sirloin I froze from the last time i made them :) http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=334269
  • if not here, i also try calorie king.com. or break it down by ingredients in the dish...time consuming but if you want to know, you gotta do the work :)
  • broiled salmon w/sauteed spinach or roasted asparagus or when i feel like getting fancy... I make Miso glazed salmon with brown rice and sugar snap peas
  • There's a new one at the gym in my building... The "Beat Boxer" This person has the tendency to make a "choot...choot...choot" sound every other leg movement on the elliptical machine while the alternate leg makes a squeak on the machine and then the handles do a weird swish sound on the offbeat. Maybe it's my music…
  • TOM + weekend of apt hunting + some NC BBQ = no weigh in this week :grumble: will work extra hard to see the results next week. I promise :glasses:
  • 1 egg + 2 egg whites 1 cup grits prepared (with water) 1 small apple
  • I've read this story before and it makes me sad for her and her family. I feel like she's taken the whole "if you can't beat em, join em" mentality to a whole new level of psychosis. When I was much heavier I made fun of myself, joined in with the boys in eating contests, the whole kit and kaboodle. Was it healthy or…
  • oh man. some people are just unhappy and have to talk about others to keep the focus off of their own lives. so sorry to hear you got the brunt of their heinous behavior. i hope your day takes a turn for the better. :flowerforyou:

  • Here's a great post from earlier for some suggestions.. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/100475-what-to-take-to-a-summer-cookout
  • Agree with the above. Maybe you don't need to make your profile public - your food diary, your exercise diary - but maybe you can walk us through a typical day foodwise and how much water you take in. Like other responders will say, with so many people having had success, it's hard to believe the math doesn't work if…
  • I'm sorry to hear that you're frustrated but rightfully so if you feel like you've put in the effort. But I feel like we're missing a few pieces of the puzzle. Can we know exactly what you've been eating? And what a typical day is like for you?
  • i used to use that term too :) I finally had a friend of mine who is a nutrionist and a trainer correct me. Now it goes...muscle TAKES UP LESS ROOM than fat.
  • Check you guys out with your shorter time frames! I'm digging it! Maybe I'll make mine shorter too!!!

  • Ah the carbo load...such a wonderful indulgence.... And how fun is the last day of school?! For your kids and for you!! A little much needed vacay for both of you! Any big plans? I am off to North Carolina this weekend to help my boyfriend find an apartment for our year apart...boo hoo  while he does his fellowship…
