i get like this when i restart the effort to lose some weight. when i feel a grumble in my stomach or a craving coming on i try to snack on something with some crunch (air popped popcorn or veggies). drink some water, and I also remind myself of my goals.

I wish yoga burned a lot more too! But I think that while it doesnt get in a ton of calorie burn that we all want, it strengthens our core and for me, it's the much needed stretch session that I usually cut short before/after my workouts.

You can do it. it's an awesome feeling of accomplishment. When I went to pick up my number for my first half, an awesome woman there said "if you can finish a half, you finish a full" I think I snorted when i said "yeah right".... I'm 5 marathons in. It's addictive :)

Absolutely! Swimming is a fantastic workout! It's what i did when I couldn't run and thank god for it! I mean, if you're just leisurely hanging out in a pool than it's probably not burning 500cal/hr but if you're actively swimming (doing laps) then Heck YA! Count it! Great job! :happy:

I was larger through most of puberty and was 193 at my largest.
