  • mederma helps a little but honestly, anything less than surgery doesn't help. it sucks. i have a lot around my hips but i'm coming around to accept them.

  • oi. having read through this thread, snowwhite, your goal of reaching an unhealthy BMI concerns me. Are you fixated on that size for a certain reason? Are you a slave to fashion? which I understand cause I'm a bit of a clothes nut myself and living in NY definitely doesn't help the situation. Going back to your original…
  • PUMPKIN TORTELLINI SOUP!
  • My run mix "runs" (i'm so hilarious) the gamut from Nelly to Jackson Five to Keith Urban to Snap! Some other artists: Usher Young MC Britney Spears Greenday Maroon 5 Lady Gaga India Arie La Bouche Alcia Keys The Cardigans Black Eyed Peas Bonnie Raitt Chaka Khan Dixie Chicks The Fray Heart JET Nickel Creek Rihanna Snoop Dog…
  • nothing so far today. Just a coffee with a splash of skim milk. baby steps!
  • Have you thought about prenatal vitamins with iron? A couple of my nurse friends suggested this when I had trouble donating blood cause my iron and blood sugar levels were too low.

  • I'm a little over 5'2", I dream of being 5'6", my superhero height is 6" I currently weigh 130.8/size 4and would like to get back to 110 (which I've been before) although I'm going to get to 115/120 and see how I feel. The last time I did a "biggest loser" competition, I got down to 111 and got some concerned…
  • Ha! I thought that too when Ashley called Michael and then they were doing the marathon together. I also predict Sam will propose to Stephanie at the finale. They are cute together.
  • I'm no pro or nutritionist, but I'm definitely a veteran to your schedule. I used to run at 5am and the thought of eating something before my run or getting up a second earlier to eat something, giving it a few minutes to digest and THEN running was in no way appealing. I saw no benefit in it, plus the one time I tried to…
  • My mentality is: I do something everyday on the off chance I won't get the opportunity to do something one day i.e. I have to work late or I have an after work function. I don't go crazy bananas insanity 7 days a week. On what would be my "off day" I do a pilates or yoga class or I do something more low impact for my…

  • I'm glad that he fessed up to eating at night as opposed to blaming it on "not concentrating on weight loss and only focusing on the marathon".
  • enchiladas with lowfat cheese mexican chicken soup chicken burritos if you couldn't tell, i'm a big fan of mexican food...food, really...but mexican food
  • I think you're both a little right but he's just being a jerk about his response :) plus i think PTs (no offense to PTs out there) wouldn't make a whole lotta money if they just suggested cardio (PT: go out for a run! Client: I'm paying you $60/hr to tell me that?) ya know? I'm like you...I'm much more of a cardio person…
  • sometimes if my iron level is low that happens. :frown: take care of yourself.
  • as an update...i'm a bit more "normal" now...:blushing: YAY... ok..no more talking about it lest i scare it away
  • I will make them myself. Cooking Light has some good recipes OR I get vitamuffin tops. They're 100 calories and, help me get in some fiber and kill the craving for a banana nut muffin.

  • I absolutely am. Whether I'm in the gym or or running outside...I want to run a little faster or longer or lift a little more than the person next to me...Nuts, I know... But for me, it pushes me and it's motivating. Heck, sometimes when I lift, I lift next to the biggest guy in the place. Mind you I won't be…
  • I would gradually add more calories to see what works for your level of activity. It's not an exact science, ya know?
  • almost every trainer and coach I've had has said abs can be worked every day.... That being said...you know your body best. Push if you feel like you can but, personally I don't push so hard that I'm so sore I won't be able to work out a few MORE days
  • grilled veggies with some of the same spices you're using for your enchiladas sounds like a good idea.
  • uh WHAT?! Why are people like that? I'm glad you were able to move past it. To me, people who say nasty things are really just unhappy with themselves. Man alive that was mean! I'm all fired up just thinking about it! :explode: I had similar instances in high school and even up til recently so it makes me really angry for…
  • i think cheat is the wrong word as well. i have one meal a week where i allow myself to have something special within limits and portion moderation, of course. I think it's healthy and it's a good way (for me, at least) to make this whole thing a way of life.

  • Agreed...if that is in fact the issue, I would get to the doc and get the antibiotic right away. Takes away the discomfort and the extra calories :)
  • Go for whatever your heart desires....JJJUUUUUSSSST KIDDING! I see your ticker so I know you know how to lose weight, what's good and what's bad so I get the sense you have a pretty good idea what can keep you within your calories for the day. No alcohol, nothing fried. Grilled, fresh, steamed and everything in…
  • I agree with the gain in muscle and with higher fat foods, you're probably eating less than you think. But you know the rules of weight loss having had so much success til now (congrats, btw! ), the game and the rules don't change. So I say, it's awesome that you still lost weight...probably all that walking around…
  • I don't think it's rude but I also agree with some other commenters that this is a lifestyle change and this isn't the last bbq or lunch date you're going to be a part of. I would maybe prepare something healthy to bring to the party and just fill the majority of my plate with that. Or, just plan my calories for the day…
  • go on with your baaaaaaad self, mama!
  • OOF! Don't let the negative get you down. The opinion of your loved ones is what matters most at the end of the day :flowerforyou: Use it to motivate you to continue down this great path to good health. And P.S. I COMPLETELY understand how hurtful that comment at the nurse's station was. I got a "you're due in a few…
